Concept art for my art class. I'm doin' five pieces on my sister marrying her Playstation controller; this is number one.

Pulled an all-nighter painting this. I was sooo tired the next day (and I had a Spanish test, which was thankfully extremely easy. Or maybe it just seemed easy . . . ).

[Edit: It just seemed easy. Whoops :P ]

There should be more to say about this . . . oh! That's my shirt, but my sister don't have any white clothes (wedding and all that), so she borrowed it.

Acrylic on luwan (18x24), time is one night plus some other random amount of hours to draw it out and paint the underpainting.

[My sister would like you to know that she's not actually glued to the TV and Playstation. She has way too much homework for that. But, she does play a lot. =D ]

BadArtistthat almost as odd as Silverscales' drawing of the letter R..well, you did a good job! but why Playstation? why not the Wii? or gamecube? i like Sony and Nintendo, nintendo is just better:P

Papercut_DragonThanks! And, well, there's several reasons. One is that in my mind, the Playstation one is more universally recognizeable than anything. The second is that it's blackish and makes for better contrast and ties in better with the background. And the third (and main) reason is that PS is the one she plays the most (we have a GameCube but we only have Link and Mario Smash Bros and one controller, 'cause we're cheap ^^;). So there you have it.

. . . Is that a swastica??

Papercut_DragonThanks! ^_^ See if you can take some classes or something - usually local communitiy colleges offer art classes for cheap.

And . . . what's GCSE art? ^^;

NeawolfGCSE's..put it this way...they are stinky hard exams that are very important as they decide which Univercity you go to...but i cant be bothered with them yet (give it a couple of months, then i will be panicking)

JFHAha, GCSE art is easy. You can paint at a far lower standard than that and do well.

And I don't think I mentioned it in my last comment, but I do very much like the shading on the shirt. It looks fantastic.

Neawolfha i'm not finding it easy! i hate it actually. well anyways its a standard i would like to reach.

JFH"I'm doin' five pieces on my sister marrying her Playstation controller; this is number one."

Interesting, that wasn't the impression I got when I looked at the picture originally. To me, it seemed more like the woman had taken the controller away from her partner because she wanted to spend some 'fun' time with him. The long flowing blonde hair, and the rough white shirt doesn't seem very bridal.

Papercut_Dragon"Fun time" :P

You know, you're the second person who has said that (either someone on dA or at my school, which is incidently also known as DA), and I can see where that's coming from. This piece might make more sense once it's with the other four, which I'm planning right now to be her eating breakfast with it, seeing it off to work, in bed with it (but keepin' it G, here ^^) and maybe one where they're walking on the beach, or the controller's dead and she's mourning it . . . not sure about that last one yet.

Thanks for the other interpretation. :)

SukooruOh wow thats awesome and very clever! As a few other people have said I love the looping around the finger to make it look like rings. Lovely detail on the controller.
