Well then little human, it begins. Now I was wondering if I should review your sketches as well, but I figured that was unnecessary. I must you have gotten better. The clear rush of wind is a nice touch. Not to point out the obvious but Sakura seems to go pretty well with a pink based background. Your very clever, Kate, fans were a very clever idea. There is almost an air of grace in sakura, well, almost. I love what you have done with the lighting, shading, and shadowing, particularly on Sakura's clothes. However, I know the fans were probably meant to be somewhat shiny, but the fans seems too reflective for my tastes (not to hold a bias). A more paper like texture to the fans would have made them a bit more interesting, however it is your interpretation. The two black dragons were a nice touch, and the way you made the fans appear to hold varying depth. Although... maybe making the dragons on the fans breathe a little fire would have been nice. I know the pose itself is like a stance, but I think you could have made the elbows look a little bit more natural. You could have probably done Sakura's nose a little better, it doesn't entirely look like her nose, but it is better then anything I could do. In terms of color coordination on the fans, maybe a color that contrasts her red vest. Or better yet, you could have made them roughly a similar shade of red. Also, on a note, the zipper should actually have a zipper like texture, that, well, zips up, it should not really be a single , solid grey line. As well as you capture Sakura's personality , the only two things that give any real damage to this excellent piece would probably be both Sakura's left hand and right shoulder. I know the shoulder is part of the pose itself, but I can't help but feel the shoulder looks somewhat out of place. Sakura's left hand looks a bit too thick, even when considering the perspective. Also, since these fans are a pair, and the left one has those two strings at the end ( an nice touch, by the way, Miss Phoenix), the right should have two similar strings visible as well. I think you did pretty well on the eyes and hair, and the character on the left bottom corner was a pretty effective thing to add. The knees were okay, and her boots were alright. Out of curiosity, now I am not certain, but are Sakura's boots rubber? If so, perhaps a more rubber like texture should have been given to them. Over all, Kate, its pretty good, and I am very hopeful you'll get better. Also, shame on you for getting ahead on Wiki, then again I think most people do... (as did I)... Once again, kudos on the coloring and shading, so I am expecting a lot more from you later on. (Now, in an OC moment, I say, do Garra....)
