Pheral, FAC's official mascot (chosen by FAC's members via vote) :)

This is the original design for Pheral (and the one originally used for the site's logo and whatnot). :P
Was trying to play with different styles at the time -- I mostly drew "anime/manga" style at the time and didn't think that the FAC mascot should necessarily be in the same style.

Pencil, copic liners, PSP7.

I don't understand why they chose this for the mascot. They couldn't picked so much better.

It doesn't even look anything close to a cat in the avatars.

This was the original design. They had a contest WAY back when.
After a few years they redesigned it along with the rest of the site. But yeah, it's quite old.

The members of FAC voted for it.

Just changes. They redesigned the site and decided to go with a different illustrative style for the new site.
I've actually seen a couple other versions of this guy floating around the web (and I wish they'd use one of those, actually. something about the eyes on the current one don't look quite right to me).

It's actually the original design and image used (hence why he's the icon, too).
They recently changed the logo to an updated version of him (drawn by...I think Layzcarter, but I'm not sure) lol

But yeah, this is the first and original :P

Yeah, it's supposed to be since all the other entries were uber-cute (I honestly didn't think this would win).

But yeah, he's supposed to be real scruffy and crazy looking. Thought it would represent all the crazy kids on FAC here a lot better than the super cute chibi-anime style a couple entries were going for. :P

Yeah, that was pretty amazing. I never won a contest before (let along one that had to do with drawings) so that was an awesome, awesome day XD lol
