Good Cop

Markers on paper

Markers used: mainly Letraset ProMarkers
Paper used: Canson XL Marker -- 70g/m2

Inspired by a small vintage illustration in B&W.
I have changed a few details and I have added colours.

So far, I've only met good policemen;
and I don't live in a day-dream or fantasy world, far from it, mind you!

The only bad cops I have seen are in movies,
(produced by the leftist propaganda).
In such movies, I have also seen "good" criminals,
delinquents and other vermins depicted in a nice and favourable way....

alitta2Looks cool! I guess I've already seen that illustration somewhere (maybe in a commercial?).
It looks quite familiar for sure :)

SaltwaterIn a commercial, I doubt it, because the original reference is very old.

If you have seen the small vintage illustration in B&W,
it might be on a site providing free pictures.

If you have seen this one,
then it must be mine.
My version is different.
In my version there is a rope frame, it rains,
the policeman has a moustache and hair, + various little details.
Also my image is bigger and in colours. :-)

alitta2Well, you may be right, it was rather an illustration somewhere, but it might be more possible that it was just an illustration that looked similar to this one.
Unfortunately, I can't remember it well, as I saw that a long time ago.

TeeJay87People complain about Police officers behaving in inappropriate way, just like it was shown in news on TV today, when traffic department of Police in Warsaw punished with 100 PLN fines ( 20 GPB ) people, who crossed streets while they were having red traffic lights.

Despite I'm not that experienced as a lawyer, I've met various Police officers in my legal career (both as court clerk and barrister trainee), I admit that certain individuals in uniforms must be the reason for people hating the Police in general.

On the other hand, I know personally couple of sergeants and warrant officers from Police stations in my hometown, who are decent and nice folks. :)

SaltwaterSome people commit offenses,
and then they have the nerve to complain about the police for giving them fines, controling them or arresting them...!
no kidding!
People have to be responsible for their own acts. period.
I am sick of the permissiveness and complacency of socialist societies.

TeeJay87I know how do you feel, such hypocrisy developed from lack of responsibility is annoying.

Saltwater on April 18, 2015, 4:13:54 AM

Saltwater on
SaltwaterIt is much more than just annoying.
It is one of the major problems in our societies.
Some people have moral values.
But other folks don't have too much morals.
So, if they think they can do whatever they like, whenever they like, wherever they like,
without caring for the rights of other people,
and without ever having to face their responsibilities,
and without being punished for their bad deeds,
then it is chaos....

TeeJay87And the Police makes lesser evil, since it protects from such chaos,

Saltwater on April 18, 2015, 11:20:34 AM

SaltwaterYes, the Police is the last bastion.
But unfortunately their field of action is more and more limited as time goes by....

Leftists seem to care more for the "rights" of the criminals,
than the rights of the victims, and the rights of the population in general.

FirielVery nice, cheery-looking cop. :) The style reminds me of some of the picture-books I've seen. ^_^

Ideologically... I do think there's good and bad cops in the world. Or rather, I believe humans have good days and bad days and grumpy days and strengths and weaknesses and misunderstandings, and that cops are a subset of the group called "humans." ;) Not speaking of stereotypical movie-villain version of bad, but, for example, that sometimes people can be a little hard on someone they suspect even if that person hasn't done anything (has happened to a couple of my friends).

Saltwater on January 16, 2015, 11:41:56 AM

SaltwaterMaybe your friends were really very unlucky.

And maybe it is a question of attitude and behaviour.

I don't know anybody (in my family, my relatives, my friends....) who had any trouble, (even the slightest trouble) with any policeman.

Of course I have never been suspected of anything,
and when there are random controls of identity, I am never controlled.
It must be written "innocent" on my forehead.   LOL

Generally speaking, policemen are very decent people,
their work is very hard, many times it is dangerous,
they have low salaries and extended work hours.
Difficult situation for a family life....
And they don't get much acknowledgement for the service they provide.
At least they could get some respect and consideration.
(this is my opinion....)
