Writing is all in the mind, the heart, the soul. The pen and paper do not matter, for the hand holding the stylus is merely following the orders given it by the brain. It is the writer's mind that develops the story, from concept to thought to scene, and then finally, translating it into the words and sentences of language.
Those of you who have skill to translate the Shioren text, by all means, be my guest and discover more of how this writer's mind works.
My new muse, Atelier d. Shioren.
Medium: Colored & ebony pencil
Time: About seven hours
Scale (at full view): 75px/in
IMPORTANT: The Shioren race and alphabet are my creation (Atelier in particular is a representation of myself) and may NOT be used or redrawn in ANY way except if I have first given you permission to do so. I will report violations to site staff for removal.

He's a male. Female Shioren tend to have longer fins with different (warmer) colors, and like with any species, you can also tell by what's between the legs.

Personally, I think the junction of the thigh and torso on our left side looked much better in the sketch. Much more real. This one seems slightly too smooth. The best looking part is the fin on top of the head, with the wavey little lines and good shading on top of that. ^__^
The lettering looks amazing, although I don't particularly want to translate it right now. Rest asssured that curiousity will come back and bite me, and I'll either translate it, or, if someone else did and posted it, read what it says and probably translate anyway, for the pure stupidity of wanting to do it myself to prove that that's what it says. ;)
You color all of your pictures so well, it looks really great. May I ask if that's a male or a female?
