MoonyDelacroixWow, he looks so great with the red hair... I nearly fell of my chair, cuz I thought the bright colors (the first picture ^^) are the end-colors xD But the... um... "stronger" version looks MUCH better ^^ I'll try to color my next pictures like that... xD

SenayDragonWow! I really like your process! n.n The only thing I would suggest, though, is using a cool color for shadows, as cool colors recede. For example, maybe some purple as a darker tone for the red hair? It'd probably give it a little more depth. Don't get me wrong, though! I really love how you color hair! 'Tis just a suggestion! <3

Trinity_FireHuh, that's really interesting! Using 'cool' colors and 'warm' colors, then, rather than just looking for colors that are analagous??? 8D Interesting! Cool!
I think I'll try that sometime.

...WHEN I get around to drawing/coloring again. XD;

THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR COMMENTS~ X<

SenayDragonYes yes! Color is your friiieeend~<3 Complimentary colors can work well, too, especially when you want to tone something down. It can really make your picture 'POP', as my teacher says. ^^

And you're very welcome~! <3 *hug/glomp/tackle*

WingPriestessYou have Photoshop, why are you putting tutorials together in Paint??? *sigh* Great tut, though. Have you ever tried using a Primsacolor colorless blender instead of white? Tian has one, you could borrow hers.

TheWolfyYou are my hero. Seriously. XD I will definitely be testing these techniques out. I liked the different "strokes" and the advice of using the lightest one first to test... definitely helpful.

I need to fav this.

ohh..and what kind of paper did you use?

Trinity_Fire on December 25, 2006, 5:00:24 AM

Trinity_Fire on
Trinity_FireThank ya muchly... ^^; And, uh, I just use the paper in my sketchbook. Medium-weight paper, because light-weight smudges WAY too much, and heavy is... well, hairy, I think. o_o;
Printing paper is okay, but it's too waxy and if you mess up and erase it, the old lines show through really strong.

Thank yas~
