Mitsuru of Crescent Moon. The world still needs more Crescent Moon fanarts. >>;
I'm kinda happy with this, 'cuz I'm using that set of Artist's Colored Pencils (aka with quality) I got from that really nice Teacher for being a TA in Chinese School... I haven't gotten up the courage to touch any more than the black or the brown, though. >>;
I used that black all over here~ hopefully it looks nice. :3 (Still kinda patchy on the scan... darn... it looks pretty good in RL... :| )
Anyway~ Mitsuru, the pretty pretty Tengu-baby~
He's kinda young-ish here. Please don't mention the BG, the clothing folds, or the legs/hips in general. >>; Those are the parts I really didn't like.
And the smudged-up wings. D: I couldn't make up my mind what colors to throw in there...
But, well~ here he is. Had the day off from school today (yay Charter) and spent it all on this... and the Presea Oekaki. The latter of which is STILL not done. >>;
Thanks, guys. You all are awesome. : )

Awww~ thanks~ you're so nice~ :3
Well, there are a lot of things to know about colors. If I've mentioned this before, then go ahead and smack me, but coloring is all about mixing shades. If someone's shirt is blue, don't just color it in with one blue, and press harder for shadows!! Use greens, use purples, use all these other shades and blend 'em together!! That's what makes a picture look a lot smoother and prettier. (And if you notice, it applies to real life. Most objects aren't just one bland color; they reflect the colors around them, and their shadows are almost NEVER just their own shade 'deeper.') Also, for example, look at Mitsuru's hair and pants. They're black in shadow, but edged in purple. To get colored pencils to really apply themselves smoothly to your paper, don't just slap on one layer of black and wander off. I ran over the pants once in purple, then once in black, then once in purple again in certain areas to get it as smooth as you see; try more, and your results will get better and better! Mitsuru's skin too was made up of at least 3 different shades: Peach as a base, then goldenrod on top of that and a touch of 'terra cotta' in the shadows.
Experiment! Don't be afraid to color extra; colored pencils are erasable for that purpose. ;)
Sorry for the rambling, but hope I've given you a few tips~ good luck, and have fun! :)

Oooh, no problem. I'm just glad you don't think I'm a nag or nosy brat. :3 (I just want to help, really~ haha)
I use Micron pens. They're kind of expensive, but well worth it! I use size 005 because I obsess over detail. >>; But the tips are kinda soft, so you have to be careful not to push them too hard.
Inking is an art, and a tough one. It takes a lot of training to get good at drawing really smooth lines with them, so be patient. :3 It just takes a steady hand and a little confidence. Haha. (I still mess up on my inking often, so I will know how you feel.)
But inking really cleans the edges of your art and you don't get any of that grainy black blurring with pencils, so it's much better. (Particularly for someone like me, that sketches and sketches over her lines so many times it becomes a nightmare~ >>; *shudder* )
Anyway, does that help any? There are other types of pens, but I just use Microns because you can find them in lots of places, like AC MOORE or MICHAEL'S.
Good luck!! Hope your art improves!! :)
And always: Don't be afraid to slap down colors!! Go for it!

YES, MITSURU <3
Heehee, the wings rather match his hair
And yes, the world does need more Crescent Moon fanart. I swear I'll contribute to that cause one of these days... >.>;;
I love the hair. <3 And the eyes are pretty. <3 And the leaves and wind are a nice touch. <3 And I love that stupid tengu <33333 >.>;;; <3
An overdose of hearts for your art. Hopefully it won't cause need to have your stomach pumped, or more your brain considering you're not going to eat them off the web page. Or something like that. :|

Yeah, his hair.... Really threw me for a loop when they drew it undone towards the last few volumes. I wasn't sure who it was for a bit... @_@
So with that; Stupid Hot-Headed Tengu + Stupid Flirtatious Vampire + Stupid Hyperactive Werewolf = Very Stupid but Well-Loved Cast.
Misoka's loved too, but he's too smart for that lot.
