M’kay. Rant time.

In the clan of Grygernl, the inhabitants worshiped their god, Vernya. Vernya, they said, is a distant god, one who only speaks through ‘enlightened beings’ within their clan. It had been about half a century since one had been able to speak to Vernya, and the clan was falling into chaos. That is, until Kite was born.

Kite was the second son of the lower class family Myraael. There had been no prophecy, no telling of his coming. Not even his mother knew he was going to be born until three months beforehand. And yet he was born with no complications. His lungs were severely underdeveloped, and yet they didn’t collapse. It was as if the weight of the air didn’t touch him at all. It wasn’t until four months later that he finally opened his eyes, and the people knew. His left eye bore the color of his adept state, the color purple for graviga, and his hair naturally contained lilac lowlights that glowed softly during his infant state. He was a Primary. But that wasn’t all.

His right eye was Vernya’s symbol with the colors worn by the sacred elders. The clan declared him sanctified.

Kite grew slowly. He was never tall, never strong, and cursed with a weak immune system. He was, however, able to learn at rapid pace and spoke with an air of dignity unseen in one so young. Not that he spoke too often (he was two before he first spoke; a full sentence, though with slightly mispronounced words).

Jivauln, though at first jealous and hating of his younger brother, soon became Kite’s protector. He helped him with basic movements and tasks until Kite could learn how to do the same with his gravity magick. He taught him basic combat. He was the first to realize Kite’s intellect and began to teach him everything he’d learned in school.

Then the raids started. Neighboring villages were feeling the pressure since Grygernl had once again found its spirit. Thus, they decided to remove the threat by killing the object of their hope. First the elders, then the priests. Then Kite.

Kite’s mother and father were killed during the fourth raid, which occurred in the dead of the night one winter month. Jivauln was able to protect his brother, but lost the use of his left leg in the process. Kite, watching from the distance, killed the raiding party in a split instant, unconsciously forcing the air around them to grow so heavy that their spines shattered from the weight of their skulls. Jivauln was in awe, but swore that neither of them should tell this to anyone, fearing the remaining clan would try to mold Kite into a weapon.

When asked how they survived, Jivauln said it was an act by Vernya. The clan celebrated their good fortune. Jivauln began to study everything he could find having to do with Primaries and Veryna in hopes of finding a way to protect his brother.

During the next raid, Kite was, by all means, killed. He was outnumbered and suffering from sickness at the time, and had no chance against the crowd. They left him dead in the middle of the village to serve as a symbol for the rest of the clan. Jivauln, who had been at the keeping of the texts when the raid started, was unable to arrive in time due to his faulty leg. He came upon Kite barely a minute after the party had left, and started to plan.

Jivauln was a scholar. He knew things he shouldn’t know, and didn’t have anything to live for anymore. Thus, he decided to undergo a forbidden ritual that had only before been mentioned in legend, of how Vernya himself had been saved from death by his father. He transferred all of Kite’s physical damage to himself and, in a last-ditch attempt, offered his soul so that his brother may live. It was successful, and Kite was reborn in the arms of his dying brother. The shock was simply too much for one so young, and Kite demanded that his brother be alive. His latent connection with Vernya emerging, or perhaps just a sudden burst of his Primary magick, Jivauln was reborn. In Kite’s head.

Such mental turmoil was not survivable, as the two minds proved immediately incompatible and at their core began to try and force their perceived intruder out.

As if by fate, a mind-adept who had been searching for the awakened Primary was nearby and felt the stab of his Art being torn to shreds. Serine stood not 50 feet from the child. He walked over, weaving his aura into a comforting barrier between the two souls, and calmly asked Kite (whom he realized was the Core personality) what he wanted. Kite, unknowing of the consequences, simply cried that he wanted the pain to stop. So Serine, smiling all the while, stopped Jivauln’s mind from functioning. His brother was dead, and Kite couldn’t help but feel that he was the one who killed him.

Serine was able to coax Kite into coming with him to the Primary headquarters. He was able to convince Kite to let him use Jivauln’s body to save another Primary from death. Why? Because Kite was young, Kite was vulnerable, and Kite was desperate. And Serine is very…very convincing.

BAH. I say, Mouse FTW! DX And I've used a tablet too. Maybe it's just 'cuz I used a really bad old chinese tablet... hahaha... But I still love mouse. I think it has better precision and all. :]

Seriously? I can't function with it. I have to make a hundred strokes per line, since I can't draw a decent one.
All my drawing technique is based off the pivot of my wrist, so that might explain why. .__.
Do you do most of your oekaki with mouse? o.o

Just about all. :/ I only had a tablet for a limited time, and I really didn't bother using it much. :[ Pretty much all you see is all mouse. Hahaha.
It's really not that bad, once you get the hang of it. It just takes a while; don't give up after the first five minutes of failure.
And it is a little hard to sketch out the lines... I probably spam the undo button 5+ times for every line you actually finally SEE on my pic; hahaha... (It's why I'm so not a huge fan of p-chatting with people, since it has no Undo)
But mouse is really quite fine. You can get by with a lot, y'know. I've paved my way here with a glitchy mouse (that my bro and I fixed up, yay~ :D ), a box of factory reject Prang colored pencils, and no photoshop. (Or, no photoshop skills, more like. Haha. I have a randomly downloaded photoshop on my computer, but photoshop pics take me too long. >>; )

God, you need to ask Allison about her stories. She hates them, and will probably deny their existance, but they're amazing D=

Oh gosh, but I really don't have the guts to ask for critiques. Well, I know this might sound egotistical, but I know a huge amount of what's wrong with my stories.
No world-building skills.
Jumping all over the place; haphazard verbs and adjectives thrown all over the place.

Yeah, I can't WAIT to see his costume! >.< I started being friends with his older sister a few months after his birth, so I've been over there a lot and watched him grow up. He's blonde-haired, blue-eyed, and utterly adorable! I can't WAIT to see him! ^^

Yesh. With a lot of help from my Home Ec teacher, a bunch of unused fabric, and lots of time, I made it last year. =3 Its color is much duller then normal ones (it isn't silk or anything), but it's pretty sturdy. I really like how it came out.

Samhain is the Celtic Halloween. Technically, it's the day after (I think). The Christians made thier own holiday on the day of Halloween to sort of make people ignore/forget Samhain. Worked, didn't it? XD

Nyeah, I offered 'cause I don't mind drawing sthuff for people. XD It's okay if you don't want a picceh, though. ^^;;

I have plenty of free time lately. At least, for drawing. =3 And since I've been in a mini-rut with my own pics, I'd love to draw something for someone else because A)I like being nice and you're a cool person, and B)maybe it'll help me out of ze rut. XD

I like it better then actual Halloween, but no one practices it 'cept the Wiccans. There are precious few of those up here. ^^;; So jah. It's pretty cool.

I've never seen her give such long comments though. Or maybe I just didn't notice that to be odd...

And that was sixth grade, I can't stand Kagome now. ::shudder:: Amazing what 5 years can do, neh? But I love Garnet. I think that with her, it all depends on how you percieve her though, so I can see how you might not like her.

And the hundred picture challenge... I should probably start that... Oh, and everyone's list is different. You can look up a bunch of lists, find what you like, a pull together your own out of that. It's and unlimited amout of time, and it's for fun and artistic improvement. =3

I know! When you get older, you realize different things about characters that you didn't before, and it changes your perceptions of them. And, five years? You're in the same grade as me! ^^

As for Garnet, I'm not entirely sure why I don't like her. o.O I think the biggest reason was 'cause I was trying to fight with her during that period where she had lost her voice, and she got me killed. I think that's why. XDDD That, and her persona's the typical damsal-in-distress, semi-selfish one.
