Description

This is for a birthday card for one of my Mum's friends. I thought it was good to do a tonal study of this rose before I went on to colour it. I won't lie, I had to copy from a Google image since I'm not good at drawing roses from memory :\

Oooh, pretty. :)
I love roses. And their petals can be such a pain to draw.
No blame cast here for using ref, that doesn't change the fact that it's a good picture.

It's so tricky to draw the petals flowing smoothly between one another, but I suppose it's worth it in the end.
