The Sky Arc . . .otherwise known as L'Arc En Ciel.

I have wanted to do a complete tribute to the entire band for SO long, but never had the time or means. But upon having this new technique introduced to me, I realized that the time was now.

If I may, let me present to you:

Top Left: Hyde, Vocalist
Top Right: Tetsu, Bassist
Bottom Left: Ken, Guitarist
Bottom Right: Yukihiro, Drummer

This was so much fun to do. The portraits themselves were completely done by hand, no Photoshop whatsoever. (It was only used to place the scans.) It was done using an ink wash technique using white gouache. I'm actually considering making a tutorial about how to do this nice ink wash technique, if anyone thinks that they would actually benefit from it. As you can see, it makes some nice, print-like pieces. :D

Since the originals are no good (warped and whatnot from the water), I will be doing some limited edition 'prints' of these, composed on thick matte board. There are only seven total, and four are already sold, so if you are interested, act fast! They may not last long.

Time Elapsed: 5 hours
Size: N/A
Materials Used: Waterproof black ink, white gouache, 4-ply illustration board, Ebony pencil, photo reference

A tutorial would also be quite nice as well. I think I've used Gouache before in a few water colors but I don't remember much about it. And I certainly haven't used it with ink before.
