i guess i believe in god. im not this person who will scream and yell at un godly people. if its thier opinion thats ok. but i do get rather irritated when people say 'u fuking WHORES this bullshoot dont exist' i mean even if its not my beliefs, still. you can be a good person and have never read a bible in your life. well, im not exactly sure what my beliefs are. i never been to a church in a meeting even if i did, i was with someone else. yes ive been inside a chuch before, but you know what i mean. i never owned a bible, out of curiosity i would read a bit out of my grandma's bible. but never had one in my house. and growing up practicly everyone i dealt with was religious and i never understood. well getting back on track, you can have your beliefs, but dont shove it in others faces. deal? nuff said

"No suppose I'm right, God does exist. You go through life an athiest. When you die you are condemned to eternal suffering. Not to mention your ego's been smashed, realiazing your wrong."
All righty then; let me make sure I have this perfectly clear. Say someone on the other side of the world is the 2nd Mother Teresa, but they never hear of Jesus. They go to Hell. But a politician who spends his life scamming people is on the first-class flight to Heaven so long as he worships? If these are God's morals, then his morals are pretty screwed up. As long as you're good, religon shouldn't matter. And if God is the eternal savior, why would he create a pit of eternal suffering to toss half the world into? God shouldn't work that way.

Hmm, I'm a devout theist, but I will admit there is a chance that I am wrong.
Here is a little brain-food for you 'logical' athiests, suppose your right; there is no God.
Well, you go through life believing that then you die, and cease to exist. There is no pride, for you don't exist.
I, on the other hand live my life as a Christian and live up to my beliefs, I die. If there is no God, I cease to exist, there is no humiliation, just the stoppage of existance. I might have lost a bit of money/pleasure through life, but that's it.
No suppose I'm right, God does exist. You go through life an athiest. When you die you are condemned to eternal suffering. Not to mention your ego's been smashed, realiazing your wrong.
I on the other hand sacrifice slight amounts of pleasure and money, and receive asa result an ultimate happiness for all eternity.
In summary, I am giving up a finite amount of pleasure, for a chance to gain eternal bliss.
You, however are risking eternal suffering in order to keep finite pleasure.
Even you must admit, there is a chance you are wrong, and is not it worthwhile to stake the finite for the potential of receiving the infinite?
By the way, the arguement I just stated came from the reknowned physicist, mathmatician, and philospher, Blaise Pascal, who converted from atheism to Christianity for the above stated reasons.
I doubt many of you will listen to me, atheists can be very stubborn, but perhaps even one atheist saw the logic of this arguement and has taken it to consideration.
That would make the time tit took to write this worthwhile.

I am an atheist and I have been for quite a long time, However there was a point when I did believe in god and the Bible and all that. So I can take a stand from both sides.
From my point of view the Bible was written not by god or Jesus or whoever, it was written by people trying to make sense of a world they didn't quite understand. Back when people had very little understanding of science and the world around them religion offered a simple explanation: god did it.
Now we live in a world where we do understand a lot about science, but there are still an infinite number of questions about the universe and our existence. People have choices in what they want to believe in but still tend to follow others.
Please try not to take this view. You should respect other people's views on religion. You can't change people's minds if they are made up. Obviously I respect your opinion but for every religious nut who bangs on and on about homosexuality or satanist or whatever the vast majority of people live their lives by their religious code.
Besides, the Bible lays down a lot of the laws and values we live by, like don't kill, don't steal and love your family and neighbours.
Though as I say all this I am still an atheist through and through. I stopped believing around the time of 9/11 and made up my mind not to put trust in a being which no one is sure exists. Even some religious people aren't sure.
Phew. Rant over. I just wanted to get this off my chest. Please don't discriminate people's faith, it's just as bad as racism and homophobia.
