OrgXIII on Mobius (sketch)

"Yeah, well don't feel TOO excited about it -" Cosnix answered with a smirk still growing on his face, "hedgehogs eat birds."

Suddenly, there was a shout from their left.

"SONIC??"

Vorace ran up to the Nobody, and his mission-partner, a look of confusion, and joy decorating his features. "Sonic! We... we thought you were gone!" The demekarr said, then frowned when he finally noticed Cosnix's fur color, and cloak, "you... ARE Sonic... right?"

"Um... sorta..." Cosnix replied, looking down at his shoes.

"Sorry, buddy," Xigbar said, adressing Vorace-- and Cosnix as well-- in a surprisingly serious tone, "but your Sonic's long gone. If you don't mind, we've got some work to do." The Organization's number two pulled his hood up, and only the tip of his beak was still exposed. "Let's get going, Spiky."

Cosnix gave Xigbar a look of disbelief.

"Are you kidding me?? The least I can do is let my friends know I'm alright!" He stated "angrily".

"So you ARE Sonic!" Vorace said in a tone of relief, "this is good - this is very good - that means I can finally get Eclipse to stop moping around!"

"He was moping around?" Cosnix asked, not surprised.

"Well yes, he always does that when bad things happen to people he cares about..." Vorace replied.

"Cosnix," Xigbar said commangingly, all traces of humor gone from his voice, "We need to move. now. Continued interaction with civilian is going to get you severely punished, you hear me? you don't want Saix and the Superior on your @$$, so move it."

Vorace growled at Xigbar in a threatening manner. Cosnix only shook his head at Vorace, much to the demekarr's confusion.

"I'm sorry, Vorace. I... I can't be here anymore. I need to... go and do my mission. Goodbye." Cosnix told his friend, and backed off, ears drooping.

Vorace would have none of this.

"What did you do to him??" the demon demanded from Xigbar, drool running down his jaws.

"I didn't do anything to him," Xigbar drawled, some of his normal humor beginning to seep back into his voice. "He just doesn't belong here anymore. doesn't belong anywhere anymore." Xigbar opened up another dark corridor behind them and said, "Let's go fuzzy," as he stepped aside to allow Cosnix through first.

"And what about the mission, bird-brain? Or was that forgotten as soon as one of my friends showed up??" Cosnix snapped at Xigbar, his trademark attitude fueling him.

"Mission? You mean against the heartless?" Vorace asked.

((i dunno what you're trying to do. is Xigbar allowed to drag Cosnix out of there or do you want them to stay a bit longer? i don't wanna derail your idea ._____.))

((Oh, I've got no real ideas about anything right now - Cosnix's is just arguing because, well, homeworld.))

The transformed nobody groaned impatiently, then warped in front of Cosnix, shoving him backwards into the portal. Looking over at Vorace, he said, "If i were you, i'd stay away from black hoods for a while. They'll be watching you."

He then followed Cosnix through, and the portal closed behind them.

((btw, the other end of the portal is just in a different part of Moonglow))

"Hey!" Cosnix yelled upon being shoved into the portal. When they left, Vorace whimpered, but tried to compose himself.

"At least he's ok..." he said under his breath, then ran off to tell Eclipse.

On the other side of Xigbar's portal, Cosnix was "furious" at the Nobody.

"What the hell was THAT about??" The hedgehog snapped, "would it really have killed you to let me tell them I wasn't DEAD??"

"For your information," Xigbar began, "you technically ARE dead. What good will it do to tell them that you're still hanging around if you aren't even supposed to TALK to them? All that's gonna do is give them hope you'll go back." Xigbar paused to let his words sink in, the added, "And you know you can't go back. Not if you don't want us to hunt you down and end you permanently."

"So what -" Cosnix snarled, "you force Nobodies to join you, then you keep them prisoner?? Maybe you should start setting up advertisements! 'Join Organization XIII! To Us, You're Our Tool!"

Cosnix huffed a bit. He was against it all. Not just because he couldn't see his friends, but because, when he had his heart, he was the very meaning of freedom. Now he felt like a caged bird. If he could feel anger, it would be towards the entire messed up system.

Xigbar rolled his eyes is a very rehearsed imitation of annoyance and said, "Look kid, you're not our prisoner, we just have rules Rules that must be followed, even by the superior members." The hawk crossed his arms and continued. "One of those is to remain as inconspicuous as possible during a mission which we are currently on."

"Is there any way to tell my friends what I am, now?" Cosnix asked. He was discouraged. If that was possible.

"I suppose you could leave a note or something," he sighed. "but you can't reveal our true nature. they saw what happened to you, they can probably guess at the fact that you're technically not even supposed to exist right now. BUT WE CAN DO THAT LATER." he suddenly added, waving off his previous statement. "We've got a mission to do. What was it we were chasing again? deserters?"

"Yes..." Cosnix mumbled begrudgingly, "Saix said that they're really fast, so I understand now why he put you and me together for this mission. We should go find them."

He then looked around for any signs.

"They usually stay in large closed-off areas where they can run around," Xigbar pointed out. "Know a place like that, spiky?"

Cosnix's eyes widened. "Oh sweet mobius!" He cried, "they're probably tainting Greenhill Zone with their ilk!"

"Sounds like the place to be," Xigbar said, his trademark smirk recognizable even with his beak. "Lead the way, fuzzy."

"Call me that again, and I'm poking your other eye out." Cosnix threatened, all emotion in his voice thrown out the window. He then walked to Greenhill Zone.

Xigbar chuckled at the emotionless threat, but followed Cosnix nonetheless.

Cutting down the barbed wire, and pushing past the warning signs, Cosnix and Xigbar arrived in Greenhill Zone. Almost everything was torn apart, broken down, and rendered dangerous. In fact, ripped up robot parts still littered the ground. Cosnix sighed, recalling the memories of times spent there.

"Lovely place," Xigbar remarked, following Sonic into the deserted town. A dull green blur caught his attention, and he looked towards it just in tme to see a heartless dart behind a building. "I think i found our targets," he said, summoning his weapons and pointing one of them to where the heartless vanished.

Cosnix's ears perked up, and he eyed all around the place, summoning his daggers, waiting for them. Ready for them. No heartless was gonna lay a dirty claw on this zone. Not this one. Not when Cosnix was there.

Xigbar loaded his guns, and waited. "The rest of them show p when you kill one of them," he advised, "so make sure you pick 'em off as quickly as you can."

Both nobodies lay in wait for a while, and all of a sudden, a shot rang out, and a heartless burst into black smoke, pink heart floating up into the sky All at once, more than a dozen Deserters leaped into action.

Now alerted, Cosnix ran at them and, putting his speed to good use, he sliced at them.

Xigbar warped out of his hiding space and hung upside-down in the air, shooting at every heartless he locks on to.

There were more heartless than the ones that had originally attacked them, and more deserters appeared, attracted by the deaths of their comrades, and began attacking as well.

Cosnix dove at them as well, dealing with them as he dealt with their brethren. Stupid mindless monsters.

Xigbar joined Cosnix on the ground, raining bullets on any heartless that decided to come close.

Cosnix: *continues attacking the heartless*

Me: unless you wanna keep going with the paragraphs XD

Xigbar: *PREEPREEPREESHOOTINGTHINGS*

Heartless: *OMG SNEAKS UP ON COSNIX*

Me: I'm cool with whatever YOU want, Mish. XD

Cosnix: OMG frack YOU HEARTLUSH. *slashes at them*

Heartless: D8 *DEAD*

Cosnix: FFFFFFUUUUUUUU!! *goes Rambo on those fuggers*

Me: I saw glimpses of it when I was getting L4D XD screens, and all that.

Me: but... did you watch ALL of it? the main site has a non-sound-editing-fail version XD and and and it contains NIMOY. :D

Xigbar: *RAPID-FIRE-MURDERS DEM HEARTLESH*

Me: Meh, I'll wait for the game to come out.

*and then the heartlush are all dead*

Cosnix: Is that enough?

Me: ...D: AT LEAST YOU CAN PLAY IT IN 10 OR SO DAYS! *sob* i have to wait three more weeks.... *snifflecry* THOSE TRAILERS ARE ALL I HAVE LEFT TO LIVE ON! *bawls*

Xigbar: nope. *randimly points his gun over his shoulder and fires, killing a heartless that'd been trying to sneak up on him* NOW we're done. :3

Me: Oh wut? Ten days? Huh. I thought it came out later.

Cosnix: Good. Let's go. <_<

Xogbar: *opens up a portal~* after you, mr fuzzy.

Me: well it comes out september 7th so i may have miscounted but WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!

Cosnix: Don't call me that. *pushes Xigbar out of the way, and enters the CoD*

Xigbar: heh. mr fuzzy's getting prickly. *goes through*

Cosnix: *when he steps out into the Grey Area, emotion lacking on his face (as he makes no effort to pretend), he heads straight to Saix, and informs him of the complete mission* ... *sticks around and stands next to Saix* Hey, Saix? Why's Xigbar such a dick?

Saix: *a hint of a smirk flashes across his face, but vanishes quickly* He's been that way his whole existence... and nonexistence. His somebody was exactly the same.

Cosnix: *snorts in false annoyance* and no one ever thought to punch the guy in the face?

Xigbar pushed off the wall and scoffed. "Cowboy?" he asked incredulously, "as if." The higher ranking nobody opens a portal, then moves to enter it. "Let's go, Fuzzy, time's a'wastin'."

Cosnix snorted, and without even glancing at Xigbar, he netered the portal, and stepped out onto the world that he was born into, and died on. Mobius. Cosnix waited for Xigbar, a smirk forming when he remembered what Mobius did to the Nobodies.

Xigbar stepped out of the portal behind Cosnix, and inspected himself. He had taken the form of a fierce hawk, a sharp beak sticking out from his face. Two gray stripes interrupted his near-black coat of feathers, stretching from the top of his eyes to the end of his long ponytail. the ends of what must be tail feathers poke out slightly from the bottom of his cloak.

"Cool," Xigbar remarked with a smirk, gold eyes glinting, "I'm still badass, even as a fuzzy thing."

Me: wait, huh?

"Is anyone else tired? I'm tired." Cosnix stated, stretching.

Me: asdfghjkl; never mind. *too tiiiiired to caaaare anymoooore*

"if you haven't noticed, no one else is here," Xion pointed out. "But you're right, it IS getting late... i think we should just go to bed, we'll see Roxas in the morning..."

"Good plan." Cosnix replied with a nod of his spiky head. He headed back to his room.

*AND THEN WE SKIP TO THE NEXT DAY, WHOO*

The very next day, Cosnix woke up, unpleasantly sore from the battle that commenced the other day. He stretched painfully, then headed out to the grey area.

As usual, Saïx stood by the glass window, waiting for members to approach him to receive their missions.

(you get to pick the mission this time~ i kinda want his partner to be-- XIGBAR. YESSSSS.)

(YES! And... what if it was on Mobius? :3 like, defeat soldiers as the mission)

Cosnix approached the stern Nobody, and looked up at him.

"G'morning, Saix!" He greeted happily, then asked "so... what's my mission?"

(soldiers as in the heartless, yes? I think they should be those really fast and annoying deserter things that run around life FFFF I HATE THEM lol. XIGBAR WILL LYK, TTLY BE A BIRD. unless you have a better idea for an animal for him.)

Saix huffed, and handed Cosnix his mission. "Xigbar will be your partner for this mission," he added, "Be warned, your targets are very fast."

Xigbar grinned from where he was leaning against the window a little farther away, amused by the idea of going on a mission with Mr. Fuzzy.

(not just any bird - let him be a HAWK.)

Cosnix's ears flicked back in annoyance.

"Wow, Saix, it's like you did that to me on purpose, or something. Sooo... WHERE exactly are we hunting these 'really fast enemies'?"

(AWESOME.)

Saïx narrowed his eyes at the much shorter nobody, and said "it's on your homeworld. try not to get too distracted."

Cosnix frowned.

"Oh. Um... ok then. Alright." He mumbled, while rubbing the back of his neck. Backing away from Saix, he turned to Xigbar, "come on, you cowboy-wannabe. Let's head to Mobius."

(AWESOME.)

Infuriated, the monster raised its tail again, and began stabbing at them, trying to buy itself some time to get up.

Xion, not wanting to be impaled by the spike, immediately draw back when the Heartless started attacking.

Cosnix mirrored Xion, getting out of the way of the Wrecker-esque tail. Cosnix couldn't help but stare at it, as that memory of him losing his heart kept on playing itself over and over again in his mind.

The monster took the opportunity and flipped itself over, hauling itself back to its feet. it put its tail down, but opened its mouth and screeched in their direction. it was no ordinary screech though, as large shockwaves emanated from its mouth, headed straight for the duo.

Xion, not having expected the shockwaves, was unable to dodge quickly enough and was thrown back a decent distance by the attack.

Cosnix snapped out of his daze, but not quickly enough.

"Xio- HRK!" Cosnix was interrupted by the blast of shockwaves, and, like Xion, was launched backwards.

"Owww...." Xion hauled herself onto her feet, her Keyblade hiaving been un-summoned when she hit the ground. "Sheesh... this thing just doesn't die!" She re-summoned her keyblade with a growl, and charged at the heartless, Who raised its head and prepared to peck down at her.

"Careful, Xion!" Cosnix yelled, following after her.

With a loud yowl, Xion leaped up and swung at the monster's head as it pecked down...

And its orange mask flew straight off.

The monster howled in pain and anger, its vulnerable head now exposed.

Now seeing his chance, Cosnix jumped on its face, and stabbed it fiercely.

The menster screeched angrily, violently thrashing about trying to shake him off. Xion was forced to back away when the Heartless started thrashing to avoid getting hit.

Cosnix held on for dear life. If he let go, he was gonna get flung. Cosnix didn't like getting flung.

As Xion looked for an opening, she saw the monster's tail crackle with electricity, just as it had done in the forest. Acting quickly, the pantheress ran under the heartless' thrashing feet and called "COSNIX, JUMP!" before leaping at the floating orb that connected the tail to the body.

His ears pricked up upon hearing those words, and Cosnix leaped off of the heartless, and landed in the soft grass below.

Xion un-summoned her Keyblade and chomped down on the floating round ball, forcefully pulling it from its place between the body and the tail, causing the beast to electrocute itself yet again, and the tail to flop down on the ground. Xion landed with the black orb still in her mouth, edges of her jaws turned up in a grin.

"YES!" Cosnix shouted in faux glee. Really, Cosnix was feeling somewhat useless, but at least the job was getting done.

((don't worry, Cosnix'll get his chance.))

Xion spit the orb out and held it under her paw. "Attack it now," she called, "you don't have to deal with the tail anymore!" She then proceeded to try to crush the ball under her paw.

Meanwhile, The Heartless screamed in pain, the loss of its tail (again) and mask exposing it severely. It screeched at Cosnix again, shooting shockwaves at him.

Cosnix pressed himself to the ground, avoiding the shockwaves, then ran underneath the heartless, and began striking at its body.

The heartless screeched and attempted to stomp Cosnix into oblivion, but the little nobody was much too fast.

Meanwhile, Xion had succeeded in destroying the black orb, ensuring the tail would not reattach itself. Summoning her keyblade, she searched for an opening to join the fight.

Cosnix continued his path of destruction, attacking the monster relentlessly.

"XION!" He called, "TRY KNOCKING THAT MASK OFF IT'S FACE AGAIN, IF YOU CAN!"

"Make it focus on you!" Xion called, dodging an incoming stomp, "so i can get on its ba-ACK!" Xion was knocked onto her back by a wayward swing from the Heartless' wing. "ow. distraction please?"

"One distraction, coming right up!" Cosnix chirped, then ran out from underneath the heartless. He razzed the beast.

"Yo ugly! Is the reason why you wear a mask because none of the girls will hang out with you otherwise??"

"SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!"

"Thank you, Cosnix." Xion had climbed up on a nearby rock and leaped off it, sailing right over the heartless. as she went over its head, she wedged the teeth-side of the keyblade into the back of the mask, and used her momentum carry her past the heartless and tear the mask right off its head.

"Yes!", Cosnix exclaimed. Quickly, and with ease, the little hedgehog climbed up onto the heartless, until he was standing on it's face. There, Cosnix plunged his two daggers.

The heartless screeched in utter agony as the two blades drove deep into its skull, convulsing before falling forward to the ground, lifeless. The large pink heart floated up out of the body and away towards its final destination: Kingdom Hearts.

Xion dismissed her keyblade and watched the heart float into the sky longingly.

Cosnix padded over to Xion.

"We did it!" He exclaimed, "Won't Saix be in a fake-happier mood!"

Xion scoffed. "Fake-pleased, maybe, NEVER happy. not even Fake-happy. We should get back quickly and see if anyone's at the tower today..."

"Alright!" Cosnix chirped cheerfully. He was really longing to be taller than he was now.

Xion nodded, and ran off in the direction of the now-reopened corridor, and slowed to a trot as they approached it.

Cosnix also dodged the rapid pecking, but then leapt for it's neck, hoping to cause some damage.

Cosnix gave Xion a short grin, then stepped through the corridor of darkness. Out, he stepped into the Grey Area.

The gray area was empty, except for the ever-present Saïx. Xion approached the blue-haired nobody, and reported their mission as "complete," making sure to include the destruction of the bird-heartless.

The neck isn't a weak point, so the heartless easily shrugged off the attack. Instead, it tried stomping on Xion, who was attempting to get around it to get at its tail again. She rolled out of the way with a brief "YIP!" and was subsequently swatted away by the heartless' tail.

"Oh MAN!" Cosnix cried, "This thing is tough!". The little hedgehog-Nobody wracked his brain, trying to come up with SOME WAY to destroy it.

XIon landed on her back with an "OOF!", but quickly flipped back on her feet. "We gotta find its weak spot, Cosnix!" she said through her Keyblade, "the tail's weak when it's charging up the electricity attack, but that's all I've got!"

"Well then!" Cosnix said back to her, "If that's all we got, I say spam that until we it's dead!" With that, Cosnix ran around the heartless.

Xion glanced at the heartless, then back at Cosnix. "LOOK OUT!"

The heartless had spread its wongs, and began to spin around, its blade-like wings slicing through the air in a deadly circle.

Me: pfffft... wongs... I am dissapoint, however, that the typo wasn't "wangs", because that would have made me laugh uncontrollably

Cosnix quickly ducked from the attack.

"Yeesh! Stupid thing nearly took my head off! Good thing my reaction timing is nice and FAST!"

Me: THE O IS RIGHT NEXT TO THE I, STFU.

Cosnixwas now situated underneath the heartless, and its stomach was now vulnerable.

"Get it from underneath!!!" Xion called before ducking to dodge the wings as well.

(reaction command combo)

Cosnix had no idea how he did it, but he managed to launch the bird heartless high off into the air.

"Woah!" Cosnix yelped, after doing so,and backed away for if the beast landed.

"Wow," Xion commented as the beast landed with a loud WHUD, "nice shot."

The Heartless screeched angrily and thrashed about, trying to get back on its feet. Xion took the opportunity to run towards it and attack its head, causing more angry screeching.

"No kidding..." Cosnix muttered, then joined Xion in attacking the monster's head.

The heartless screeched victoriously, rearing its head back to peck the hedgehog out of its half-existence. As it darted forward, though, a black, gray and gold blur intercepted it, catching it off-guard and knocking the heartless off balance.

"Hop on!" Xion ordered as she stopped in front of him, keeping her eyes on the heartless as it stumbled around.

Cosnix huffed, recovering a bit from the blow. He stumbled onto Xion, still a bit off, psychologically, from the stinger attack.

"Where... where did you come from? Y-you were supposed to wait at Big Rock, or whatever..."

"I was--YIPE!!" Xion's reply was cut off as the Heartless' claws slammed down on the ground mere inches away from her snout. The pantheress jumped back, then quickly turned tail and ran, headed back for the dying grassland. "I ... was getting worried!" she panted between strides, "You were taking too long!"

The Heartless would have none of this. It wasn't about to let its prey escape so easily. The little black and white creatures will pay for tormenting it so. The aptly named Ruler of the Jungle extended its blade-like wings, and launched itself into the air, giving chase to the fleeing nobodies.

"Worried??" Cosnix questioned as they ran, "Nobodies don't get worried, Xion!"

"Saix would KILL me if i let that thing kill YOU! how's THAT sound??"

A loud screech above them cuts off any response Cosnix miight have, and a bolt of lightning suddenly shoots through the trees at the fleeing duo. Xion yelps as the bolt cracks inches behind her, nearly hitting her tail. She runs full tilt now, as fast as she possibly can without tripping or crashing into a tree.

"Cosnix!" she panted, "I saw it sting you! are you okay?!"

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine!" Cosnix said quickly, "You know that thing must be related to that scorpian heartless on Mobius or something, because that stinger is too similar!" Unfortunately, what Cosnix just said was a slip up that allowed Xion to know why the bird heartless freaked the hedgehog-Nobody out.

Xion momentarily glanced back at the small nobody on its back, but that was all the distraction needed for her paw to get caught on a root and send them both tumbling to the ground. Fortunately, the two were already near the edge of the jungle, and it was only a short sprint into the grassland.

Unfortunately, their not-so-pleasant trip allowed the Heartless to gain a LOT of ground, and it nearly caught up to them.

"Jeebus!" Cosnix yelped when they both crashed to the ground. He saw the root wrapped around Xion's paw, and cursed under his breath.

"Ok, Xion? I'm gonna try snapping the root!"

Slightly panicked, Xion looked over her shoulder, seeing the rustling of the trees a bit farther away as the heartless got closer. "Hurry!" she said urgently, summoning her Keyblade in her jaws, just in case.

Cosnix scampered to where the root had trapped Xion. With a the shrill screech of his blades popping out, he starting cutting at the root like a knife to rope.

"Come on, come on, come ON!" Xion mumbled thorugh her blade's hilt, becoming more an more worried the closer the rustling got.

Finally, Cosnix was able to snap the vine entangling Xion. They were free.

The heartless crashed claws-first through the trees right as the root snapped. Xion was barely able to knock Cosnix out of the way of one of its clawed talons, but her Keyblade was pinned under its foot, wrenching it out of her jaw. She staggered back, face contorted in pain, the heartless between her and the grassland.

And then Cosnix was left facing the titanic monster. Alone.

"Oh sweet mobius." Cosnix squeaked.

The Heartless turned to face Cosnix. Take out the weaker prey first. It screeched at Cosnix, raising its stinger over its head, knowing that it frightened him.

Xion managed to drink a potion, despite her injured jaw, and looked up at the bird-like monster. She noticed electricity sparking across its body.

Cosnix backed up a step. He couldn't face the monster alone. He couldn't even bare to look at it's stinger. In a lame attempt to frighten it, and as a last resort, Cosnix bared his teeth at the heartless, and hissed loudly, spines bristling.

The Heartless screeched, unafraid of the tiny Nobody, and channeled elecrticity from its head towards its tail.

Xion saw the direction the electricity was moving, and discovered something very interesting-- the tail wasn't attached. it looked like it was held close to the body by a round black orb that the electricity was skipping across. Completely out of impulse, the pantheress grabbed her keyblade and leaped on its back, and struck at the black orb, sending it flying into the brush.

The heartless, meanwhile, screeched in pain as its tail was severed, and as the electricity returned to its head so suddenly, shocking it.

Xion took her opportunity and ran past the Heratless, dismissing her keyblade and running past Cosnix. "RUN!" she ordered, "Get it away from the forest, where we can attack it more easily!!"

Cosnix flinched from Xion's sudden appearance. Then, he nodded to what she told him.

"Right!" He replied, and ran out, heading for the grasslands.

Xion looked over her shoulder, judging the distance between them and the edge of the jungle, and stopped when she believed they were out of its range. Panting, she turned around. "You think it's angry enough to follow us?"

The Heartless was furious. it screeched angrily, trying to find a way to pull itself together. no one takes its tail off and gets away with it.

"SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!"

Cosnix's ears perked at the sound of the beast's angry scream.

"Ohhh yes." He replied with a nervous grin.

The colorful beast took off, flapping its blade-like wings and propelling itself towards them. Xion re-summoned her Keyblade, and lowered herself into a crouch, ready to battle the Heartless. The beast screamed, and dove towards them claws-first.

The battle had begun.

Cosnix ran out of the way.

"Oh crap!" he cried, "It's fast when it's angry!"

"No kidding!" Xion called before summoning her Keyblade to her jaws.

The Heartless began to rapidly peck at the duo, attacking with such ferocity that its beak penetrated a few inches into the ground. Xion was forced to scramble around, dodging its rapid strikes.

Keeping its head low to the ground and its wings out for balance (even though they didn't seem to be attached to the body), the heartless started stabbing at Cosnix with its stinger, in a manner similar to a scorpion. (ho snap)

Cosnix flinched when noticing the similarities that the heartless had the the wrecker scorpion that ripped away his heart - and his normal life. The flinching, however, wasn't such a great idea, as it allowed the bird heartless to successfully hit him.

"Aah!" Cosnix cried out in pain.

"Of course you were," Xion laughed, watching the white hedgehog speed off.

(i didn't wanna keep using "said"... but yes. x3 i love Warriors, lol)

(Once upon a time, I tried reading Warriors, but I couldn't find the first book. DX)

Cosnix weaved through the trees, shrubs, and other obstacles, searching for Xion's "bird-heartless".

(AWW! D: wait, how could you NOT find Into the Wild? it's like.... the most common one o___o;)

The jungle was quiet... eerily quiet. not even native birds made any sounds.

(No, I meant I didn't have any clue what it was called, since the damn books aren't numbered. XD ... but my taste in literature has changed over time. I'm reading more Darren Shawn. ^^;)

Cosnix's nose twitched as he sniffed for anything that smelled... off. He laid low into the tall, moist grass, the strong aroma of it, and the dirt that lay underneath washing over him like a tidal wave. Only like a pre-evolved creature could Cosnix experience the world like this.

His tiny eyes looked back and forth. Waiting for a sign. Something. SOMETHING!

(Whoever that is, lol. I'm still into anything that's fiction/fantasy, not too gory, not too sexual. XD)

A cold wind began to blow from the north, from deep inside the jungle. It smelled stale, old... and as it blew stronger it began to reek of darkness and death.

(Darren Shawn is the exptremely popular author of the Cirque du Freak series. And The Demonata. Also - darkness has a smell? XD)

Cosnix looked in the direction of the blowing wind. Perhaps it was a sign of the heartless. Cosnix crouched lower.

(OH, PEOPLE TELL ME THOSE ARE GOOD should i read them? also, yes darkness has a smell. see Zexion in Chain of Memories. HE COULD SMELLLLLL THE DARKNESSSSS. XD)

A loud screech was heard in the distance, followed by the startled cries of other animals, who scampered and flew past Cosnix, fleeing their pursuer*

(Yes, you should read them. Also, lolwut? XD)

Cosnix kept calm as the wind from the scampering animals flew past his ears. There. The heartless was there. Cosnix got ready.

(what? he COULD smell the darkness! he could tell who was in the castle by their "scent" :3)

All was quiet... until a screech from directly above Cosnix shattered the silence. A massive, pointed yellow head hovered over Cosnix, beady yellow eyes typical of a heartless fixed on the hedgedog. The heartless was brightly colored-- almost blindingly so.

Cosnix winced at the sudden display of multiple colors.

"Yeesh!" Cosnix exclaimed, "What, did you just fly into a Hasbro factory, or something?" He taunting, even when he knew that the beast would never be able to understand him.

"SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!"

The beast lashed out with its beak, attempting to peck the annoying little white speck out of existence.

Tiny and fast, Cosnixwas able to dodge the attacker's assault easily.

"And here I thought you had a sense of humor!" Cosnix taunted even more.

The heartless was being annoyed by the persistent little beast, and it could tell there was something different about it. upon closer inspection, it realized with a slight shock that the creature was empty. no heart. this thing is a waste of time, just like the other one. it screeched at the tiny creature, and raised its long tail over its head, revealing a pointed, deadly-looking stinger.

Cosnix yipped at the sight of the stinger, then composed himself.

"Oh please." Cosnix said with a confindent smirk, "That stinger means nothing to me if you don't know how to use it! Bet'cha can't hit me, big boy!"

Xion perked up at hearing the words "Pride Lands," and immediately looked wide awake. "Pride Lands? Yay!" She clapped a hand over her mouth when Saïx shot her a menacing glare. If looks could kill... she mused mentally.

Cosnix wondered why Xion was so excited about the Pride Lands... until he remembered what Axel said about being lucky that Xion wasn't with them last time. In truth, Cosnix was "terrified" to be glomped by a lion.

"Well, come on Cosnix!" Xion hissed impatiently, grabbing him by the wrist and pulling him toward a newly-opened Corridor of Darkness, "Let's go get that mission done!"

Cosnix looked at Xion with a face that screamed "oh god, no". Begrudgingly, he stepped through the Corridor of Darkness...

... And out into the Pride Lands as his pre-evolved self. Cosnix let out a tiny sigh.

Xion had become what looked like a panther cub, still having her short black hair. She blinked at the bright savannah sun, and waited to stop being blind before she turned to look at Cosnix. Her face lit up, and she looked like she was about to squeal.

Cosnix turned to Xion, he gave Xion a face of pleading (which only made him look cuter).

"Please don't glomp me, Xion. PLEASE."

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!"

The squeal echoed off the walls of the elephant graveyard as Xion hurtled into the hedgehog, pinning him to the ground on his back. "YOU'RE SO CUTE!!!!! EEE~!"

Cosnix yelped upon being glomped, not appreciating it at all.

"I'M NOT CUTE! GET OFF'A ME, XION!!"

"But you ARE cute!!" the little pantheress squealed, "but OW your spikes are hurting me." Xion reluctantly got off the hedgehog and sat back on her back legs, examining her front paw where she pricked herself on Consix's spines. "Oww... that kinda stings, you know."

"What the crap." Cosnix said in response, "How come everyone is all like, 'ow, your quills hurt!' when HEDGEHOGS DON'T HAVE SHARP QUILLS? Really, it's only for show - porcupines are the ones with sharp quills!"

"Well, maybe Nobody-hedgehogs have sharp quills!" Xion protested, "Because whatever it was, it HURT." The panther cub shook off her paw and carefully put it down on the ground, sighing in relief when it didn't hurt. "Well, how about we go looking for those heartless, hmm?"

"Good idea!" Cosnix chirped, then, being one who enjoyed action and danger, bounded north on all fours.

"Off we go, then!" Xion turned and saw the hedgehog already running north, and scrambled after him. "Hey, Hey, slow down!" she called, trying to put on some speed, "I'm not as fast as you, remember??"

Cosnix screeched to a halt.

"Oh whoops..." he replied with a sheepish grin, "I guess I forget sometimes that other people can't keep up with me... I'll slow down for yah!" He gave her a thumbs up, and broke into a trot, still headed north.

"THANK you," Xion panted when she caught up. She had to run to keep up with his trot, and it was proving to be quite a workout.

"I'm no slug, Xion, and running is good for your non-existant, anyways!" Cosnix jeered, continuing his trot.

"Aww, shut up!" the pantheress whined. Before she could protest further, a flash of black and yellow caught her attention, and she dug her paws in, sliding to a stop. "Heartless!!" she cried before summoning her keyblade in her mouth. "Kmmnn!" she called, muffled by the weapon in her mouth, before running to the creature.

Oddly enough, it was a simple Shadow.

Cosnix sped after Xion. A heartless is a heartless, no matter what type. It needed to be destroyed.

Xion - being closest to the heartless - reached it first, and sliced through it with ease. it vanished as all Pureblood heartless do; without a trace.

The pantheress dismissed her Keyblade, slightly disappointed. "You'd think it'd be a bit tougher than this."

Cosnix stood up, and shrugged.

"Maybe there are more of them somewhere!" He suggested.

Xion nodded. "You're right," she agreed, "let's keep looking."

Looking around, she saw that they were in a large grassland, but something seemed... off. it looked like plants here and there were dying. "That's kinda weird," Xion remarked, "stuff looks kinda... not green."

Cosnix looked around.

"You're right... I wonder what's going on..."

Xion sniffed the air. "Seems like it's a drought," Xion concluded. "Everything smells... DRY."

Cosnix nodded.

"Dry is right! I guess it's possible for a drought to happen, I mean, it IS a natural disaster... but I can't help but think something has gone terribly wrong here..."

Me: Yes'm! I will!

Xion paused, deep in thought, then said, "maybe we could find out what's going on here," she suggested, tail twitching. "as long as e get our heartless, i don't think Saïx will mind if we bring back extra information..." She hesitated before turning to the hedgehog. "doesthat sound good?"

Cosnix nodded, understanding. Fixing problems was once his job, a long time ago. It wouldn't hurt to look into this one... though, fixing it would be a much harder thing to do - especially since he lost all compassion, and could only fake it.

"Who knows, maybe that powerful heartless is causing this," she added, looking around. "You wanna try checking out that big rock over there?" she asked, pointing her tail at the huge structure in the distance. "It's called Pride Rock. there are lions living there, maybe the heartless are attracted to them."

Cosnix grinned.

"Alrighty then, Xion!" He thought for a bit. "Hey, if I'm checking out Pride-Whatever, what'll YOU be doing?"

Xion pointed at a green smudge in the distance with her tail. "I'm gonna go check out this oasis place we found the other day." the pantheress grinned at Cosnix. "you find that heartless, and you come and get me, okay? we need those hearts, and i'm the only one who can get 'em."

Cosnix nodded, and with a business-like tone, he replied:

"Understood."

He then zoomed off to Pride Rock.

Xion watched him go until he was a white speck in the distance, then turned around and bounded toward the green oasis, hoping to find the massive heartless.

Meanwhile, on Pride Rock, there were only a few lionesses left in the den, since most of them had gone hunting for the scarce food.

In order to avoid being seen by the starving lionesses, Cosnix had to be quick, and elusive. Darting from hiding spot to hiding spot, Cosnix finally ended up behind a small rock, underneath the bigger rock that formed the den.

A few of the lionesses sniffed at the air, almost sensing Cosnix's presence, but the smell of death and dry air stifled their senses, and he avoided detection.

Meanwhile, Xion trudged through the forest, keyblade in her mouth, on the alert. The heartless could be anywhere, and she didn't want it to sneak up on her.

Cosnix surveyed the situation. Nope. No heartless so far.

Just then, a darker-colored lion - a male, judging by his even black mane - lazily trudged out of the cavern embedded into the giant rock, a piece of bone sticking out of his mouth. He spit it out and called, "SARABIIIIIIIIIIII!!"

One of the lionesses sighed, and stood up from her rasting place, and picked her way up the rock.

Cosnix looked on intently. 'This could get interesting', he thought to himself.

"Sarabi, where is my dinner?" the male lion growled.

"The lionesses are... hunting, Scar. They will return as soon as they find something," the lioness answered, holding her chin up high to show she still had some dignity left.

"Oh, you'd better hope they come back soon," Scar drawled lazily, swishing his tail back and forth, "I wouldn't want to have to send out the hyenas...."

"That will not be necessary, Sir." She seemed to spit out the last word, but the lanky male seemed not to notice.

Cosnix thought to himself.

"Hmm... so this must be the ruler of this world..." he muttered under his tiny breath. It was definitely something note-worthy to report back to Saix.

Scar slunk away into his cave without a word, and only then did Sarabi let out a sigh. "It's because if Scar that the Pride Lands are in this condition," she remarked to herself as the found her way down to the other lionesses, "oh, Mufasa... Simba... if only you were still here..."

Information bar: Caution! A Powerful Enemy is Nearby!

Cosnix sniffed the air. Ohhh boy. A powerful enemy. As he has been warned, until he reunited with Xion, he'll have to proceed with caution.

The wind seemed to pick up a bit, but other than this, there was nothing else out of the ordinary.... except for a black speck speeding across the grassland....?

Cosnix noticed the black spot, and his eyes focused upon it. That wasn't normal, this, the hedgehog-Nobody knew. It had to be the heartless. Cosnix darted out of sight, towards the dark speck.

The black speck seemed to notice the hedgehog, and it veered towards him, sliding a bit as it took a tight turn.

"COSNIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIX!!!!"

"Xion??" Cosnix replied, "bewildered". How stupid of him to actually mistake Xion for a heartless. It must have been the black cloak. Cosnix ran to her.

Xion dug her paws in and came screeching to a halt, panting like mad with her tongue sticking out. "Cosnix...Heartless...HUUUUGE!" she said in between pants, "Chased... COMING!!" Her eyes flicked back to the dense jungle she had just run from, as if she was worried it would pop out any second.

Me: whoops. ^^;

Cosnix also looked at the jungle, far from where they stood.

"Can you tell me what it looked like?" Cosnix asked, a grin forming on his face. The bigger the better. It was more fun that way.

Xion held up a paw, indicating that he has to wait until she caught her breath before she could answer. Once she did, she began to describe the heartles. "It was hiding above the trees, so i couldn't see it well," she began, "but it was like a bird, and it was HUGE. It was chasing me, but i guess it stopped after i left the jungle...."

"Interesting..." Cosnix mused giddily, a smirk stretched around his muzzle. Oh the possibilities to bring this heartless down. "Well, get ready, Xion, because I don't plan on running!"

Xion's tail twitched in what seemed like hesitation, but she shook it off. "Well, it's in our orders to get rid of it, so we've gotta do it anyways. You want me to lure it out again?"

Cosnix shrugged.

"Only if you're up to it" he said, but then suggested, "Or, y'know, since you seem pooped, I could just go in there and lure it out."

"Souuuunds good..." Xion meowed, settling into a crouch. "I'll wait for you here. Just so you know, you're gonna really have to make it mad to get it out of the jungle. I shot fireballs at it and it still didn't follow me out..."

Cosnix laughed.

"Oh don't worry, Xion...", he told her with a devilish grin, "I was MADE to piss things off." And with that, he ran at full speed to the jungle.

(you that whole "meowed" thing from Warriors, I bet. :P)

Saix stood at his post at the window, while Xigbar leaned idly against a wall, fussing over one of his guns.

Roxas looked around. "looks like Larxene's gone... phew..."

Me: lol i forgot who else i had.

Cosnix sighed, still "annoyed" that Xigbar wasn't assigned to Castle Oblivion.

Me: I know you had Demyx.

Me: did i? i know i had a bunch of the CO guys... you had the british guy and Mr. Dreads'n'Sideburns.

As Xion finished her report and turned to join her friends, Demyx stopped strumming his Sitar and paused for a second. He snorted, then remarked, "wow, it's so quiet with everyone gone..."

"And you just ruined the silence, idiot," commented a slightly irked Xigbar.

Me: oh ok.

Feeling the need to be against Xigbar at any chance given, Cosnix immedietaly responded;

"He's not an idiot, Xigbar, he's just sociable." Cosnix then smirked, "he's also got more style than you can even dream of, Patch-Face."

Demyx grinned, content with the fact that someone was siding with HIM for once, and went right back to strumming his Sitar, the melody he was playing much more upbeat that the last one.

Xigbar just snorted and dismissed his weapon. "I'm going to bed. See ya later, Mr. Fuzz." He ruffled Roxas' hair as he walked past, adding a quick "See ya later, kiddo," and giving Xion a brief, "G'night, poppet," before disappearing down the hall.

There was a long pause, until the silence was broken by Roxas when he tried to fix his now-flattened hair and remarked, "Well, that wasn't slightly creepy at all..."

Cosnix cocked a brow.

"Yeah, well... he's just a creepy guy."

"I've gotta agree with you on that," Xion stated, flicking a strand of hair from her eyes. "I think we should go to bed, you guys..."

Cosnix nodded.

"A'ight. I'll see you guys tomorrow." He stated simply, and headed off to his room.

Every nobody but Demyx eventually left the Gray Area to go to their rooms, leaving the Melodious Nocturne to continue "happily" strumming away.

Me: cosnix and xion pridelands mission now? :D

Me: sure. XD

The following day, Cosnix walked into the Grey Area, and up to Saix.

"Hello, good sir - care to spare a mission for this little Nobody?"

The blue-haired nobody scowled, and handed Number XV his mission.

The paper read, "Go to the Pride Lands and collect hearts with Xion. Warning: a powerful heartless has been spotted in the nearby area. proceed with caution."

Cosnix smiled, almost challenging Saix's scowl.

"Collecting hearts in that crazy pre-evolved world, eh?" He mused, "fine by me."

"Get to it, then," Saix replied in his emotionless monotone voice.

Just then, Roxas walked into the Gray Area, stretching his arms and letting out a huge yawn, earning a piecring glare from Saix.

Being his usual smartass self, Cosnix had to comment.

"Yo, Saix? If you don't REALLY have emotions, how come you seem to have this need to pretend you're angry all the tine? Doesn't frowning like that hurt your mouth after a while?"

Saix turned to look down on the hedgehog Nobody and stoically said, "It is my job to make sure you do your missions as quickly and efficiently as possible. any other emotion becomes a distraction."

Roxas looked innocently up to the ceiling.

Cosnix immitated Saix's glare-face.

"Yeah, but don'tcha think this is ALSO kinda distracting?"

Saix merely shook his head. "Go do your mission," he ordered, turning his gaze on Roxas in a "gtf over here so i can give you your goddamn mission already" way. Roxas immediately complied with Saix's unspoken demand and scurried over.

Cosnix grinned, and nodded at Saix.

"Whatever ya say, sir!" He chirped, and waited for Xion.

It took a few minutes for Xion to appear in the Gray Area, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. Roxas was already gone.

"Hey, Xion!" Cosnix called out to her, "We've got a collecting hearts mission in the Pride Lands! Also, there's a powerful enemy, or somethin' there!"
