Paper size: 18’’ x 12’’
Tools: Sharpie markers for the base coloring and Unicorn/Prismacolor and Crayola colored pencils for mountain shading, grass, clouds and moon.
Time Taken: 7 days working about 4 hours a day
ABSOLUTELY NO DIGITAL GRAPHICS WENT INTO THE MAKING OF THIS FANART(in your face, PhotoShop! I drew each individual star by hand! BOOYA!)
Like most people my age, who, on a whim, purchased The Last Unicorn on DVD at Wal-Mart and watched it, I felt a sudden urge to do a fanart of my favorite childhood movie. This pic was inspired by the song “Man’s Road”, which is played a couple of times throughout the movie. I tried very hard to make the unicorn look at least somewhat similar to the one in the movie, as well as the BG.
Yes, I did an actual background. My mom and I were discussing it last week, and we decided that my work REALLY needs a background, so I had to give it a try. I had no idea The Last Unicorn would inspire it XD It started out as just a sketch of a common country scene…then I thought it’d be cool if the unicorn would be running by. Then I colored a little bit…then a little bit more…now, 7 days later, my hard work is complete.
I am extremely proud of this piece.
