Hey dude! It's been quiet some time since I've last been here... School and my band have been keeping me busy and made me forget fac a bit :(
But I'm back. And boy have you improved a lot!

Attention! I am holding a contest! This notice is going out to everyone on my fans list! (There are about a hundred of you! XD) First of all let me than you for adding me to your favorite artists list! Anyway, I have been writing a story about my original characters since March. It is called “Starting to know me” (Check it out if you want! I have 17 chapters thus far.) In the story the characters start a band. There is Rod, Vince, Kitty and Nick. I need one more character. That’s where you guys come in! It’s a character design contest, but there are some qualifications. 1.It must be a girl. 2.She has to play guitar. 3.When you post your picture of her, you must include a short-long (however you want) biography on her. You must include her name (full, first and last, middle name if you want) age (and birthday), likes, dislikes, and tell about some things in her past as well as her personality. The contest will run from December 5th 2006 to January 5th 2006. Let me know if you are going to participate so I can put your name down, also let me know when the picture is up so I can know to go see it! First place winner will obviously get their character in my story and I may use her other pictures I do later. I may use some of the other characters you guys come up with somewhere else. I wanted to show you a picture of my 1982 Mercury LN7 months ago, but I never knew how till now!

Awesome looking car there, yeah I've never seen one of those before ^_^

Thanks, I love that thing, I spent a little over 3 years building it, replaced every body panel (found some at the wrecking yards and had to make some) Then I drove it for nearly 4 years trouble free, but I drive my cars very hard and for many miles so now it's a little worn out. But I have an all new drivetrain for it, new suspension, wheels and tires, and I plan repainting it again (in 03 viper yellow again, it used to be white) I can hardly wait to get her done!

I hate to have to bother you but can you help me with shoe perception? It's one of many things that I can't draw right. Do I have to draw the tips of the shoe up at an angle? or do I leave it flat and then shorten the length of the shoe??? I'm so confused @_o if you can help thanks but if not no biggie.

this will make you cry...

Jenny was so happy about the house they had found. For once in her life 'twas on the right side of town. She unpacked her things with such great ease. As she watched her new curtains blow in the breeze. How wonderful it was to have her own room. School would be starting; she'd have friends over soon. There'd be sleep-overs, and parties; she was so happy It's just the way she wanted her life to be. On the first day of school, everything went great. She made new friends and even got a date! She thought, "I want to be popular and I'm going to be, Because I just got a date with the star of the team!" To be known in this school you had to have clout, And dating this guy would sure help her out. There was only one problem stopping her fate. Her parents had said she was too young to date. "Well I just won't tell them the entire truth. They won't know the difference; what's there to lose?" Jenny asked to stay with her friends that night. Her parents frowned but said, "All right." Excited, she got ready for the big event But as she rushed around like she had no sense, She began to feel guilty about all the lies, But what's a pizza, a party, and a moonlight ride? Well the pizza was good, and the party was great, But the moonlight ride would have to wait. For Dan was half drunk by this time. But he kissed her and said that he was just fine. Then the room filled with smoked and Dan took a puff. Jenny couldn't believe he was smoking that stuff. Now Dan was ready to ride to the point But only after he'd smoked another joint. They jumped in the car for the moonlight ride, Not thinking that he was too drunk to drive. They finally made it to the point at last, And Dan started trying to make a pass. A pass is not what Jenny wanted at all (and by a pass, I don't mean playing football.) "Perhaps my parents were right....maybe I am too young. Boy, how could I ever, ever be so dumb." With all of her might, she pushed Dan away: "Please take me home, I don't want to stay." Dan cranked up the engine and floored the gas. In a matter of seconds they were going too fast. As Dan drove on in a fit of wild anger, Jenny knew that her life was in danger. She begged and pleaded for him to slow down, But he just got faster as they neared the town. "Just let me get home! I'll confess that I lied. I really went out for a moonlight ride." Then all of a sudden, she saw a big flash. "Oh God, Please help us! We're going to crash!" She doesn't remember the force of impact. Just that everything all of a sudden went black. She felt someone remove her from the twisted rubble, And heard, "call an ambulance! These kids are in trouble! Voices she heard...a few words at best. But she knew there were two cars involved in the wreck. Then wondered to herself if Dan was all right, And if the people in the other car was alive. She awoke in the hospital to faces so sad. "You've been in a wreck and it looks pretty bad." These voices echoed inside her head, As they gently told her that Dan was dead. They said "Jenny, we've done all we can do. But it looks as if we'll lose you too." "But the people in the other car!?" Jenny cried. "We're sorry, Jenny, they also died." Jenny prayed, "God, forgive me for what I've done I only wanted to have just one night of fun." "Tell those people's family, I've made their lives dim, And wish I could return their families to them." "Tell Mom and Dad I'm sorry I lied, And that it's my fault so many have died. Oh, nurse, won't you please tell them that for me?" The nurse just stood there-she never agreed. But took Jenny's hand with tears in her eyes. And a few moments later Jenny died. A man asked the nurse, "Why didn't you do your best To bid that girl her one last request?" She looked at the man with eyes so sad. "Because the people in the other car were her mom and dad." This story is sad and unpleasant but true, So young people take heed, it could have been you.

It's crazy how much you've improved with just doing two pics on photoshop. I knew you'd be really good at it especially your last one that's crazy how it looks @_@ by far the best I've seen I mean it looks like it was actually done with traditional media.

Well 'creating' stuff is hard but 'copying' stuff is easy ^_^ although I always alter the image lol. So, that's the part that I really lack in experience which is creating stuff still trying to incorporate the shapes into my pic lol still failing but slightly improving.

Goodmorning how was your weekend adam?

I'd say that media is hard to find the right type of paper to color on. Also woulndn't a glossier surface cause the maker to smear a bit because it doesn't adhere to the surface right away? Well that's what happend when I tried it on typing paper but then again it all depends on the type of marker you are using right? *shrugs* well sorry for my pointless ramble lol ^_^'

What size of paper do you use? I think the biggest I've seen was a poster size paper you know the kind that can be used for a science fair project and it stands on it's own lol don't know what it's called but yeah -_-'
Do you also use colored pencils to blend the colors together like Miss. Phoenix11? I still don't see how she can do all that with sharpies @_@ either way it looks amazing.

Yeah I'm testing my shading abilities by using pens to shade with rather than pencils because once you make a mark you can't erase it you can only try and fix it. It's fun but very very time consuming.

You pretty much got that scene right. It takes place right after Swoff and Fowler argue about the dead Arab. Then Swoff goes off and buries him and is visited by a horse and not a camel (lol ^_^?)

When you draw heads do you use a circle to get the shape of the head? I don't really understand how to use that method and so I just draw it hoping that it's right. So that's one thing I need to improve on.
I can not draw hands again I use the same method as above so if you could help me with that I'd appreciate it.
I was trying to fix the guy's jaw line without really messing up the pic and that's the best I could do. I noticed it after I finished his face >_<
Chins are hard for me to do when drawing a profile because it can't stick out too far and it can't be leaning too far back either. So I need help with that also.
Anything you could help me with would be great. Don't worry you weren't harsh I asked for it anyways ^_^

So did you try using the paint brush yet? I was actually watching Donnie Darko about 3 months ago and that's where I saw Frank use them for his Bunney Man and so I decided to use them. Alright watching tv actually pays off lol.
It's pretty good at getting an even tone and then you can create a fold without even trying too lol so that's pretty neat.

okay, the story's kinda weird, but basically, kenshin goes about 33 years back in time, and winds up staying with a kid named Himura Miki and his shishou. Himura Miki is a 10-12 year old boy with dark eyes and black hair pulled back into a short ponytail. He wears a grey hakama and green gi. Reminds Kenshin a lot of Yahiko (mostly in attitude). The boy carries a katana. He is the child who will later grow into Hiko Seijuro the 13th, Kenshin's own arrogant Shishou whom we love.
Himura Miki's shishou is a rather old man. He has long silver hair, wears the white and red cloak and drinks lots of sake (surprise surprise). He's a very intelligent man, with bright blue eyes, and a guarded expression. He cares about Miki as he would a son, since he knew the boy's family before they were killed.
You already know Kenshin who went backwards in time and got stuck here.

the scene I was picturing was actually one where Kenshin and Miki (who is only a little shorter than kenshin) are sparring (at Hiko the 12th's insistance). Old Hiko the 12th is sitting in the background drinking and watching.

Is that enough detail? Color would be nice... Any style you prefer. Hiko the 12th is loosely based on a brief scene during the Christian arc of the anime where we see the man fighting (that's where I got the idea for him from at least) Miki is my own creation of what Kenshin's shishou, Hiko the 13th might have been like as a child. And Kenshins... just kenshin:)

How do you know where to put the highlights and stuff or like what colors are best used to create the shadow and the normal color of the object? I'll be using sharpies I don't know if you use those but there is a limited selection of colors to use. Any tips would help A LOT.

Have you ever used pens to shade with? Not for coloring but shading. You should try it (although very time consuming lol).

Second, I think it was the proportions of the upper half of her body. Her torso and arm seem too long. But like I said, I'm used to anime proportions, so it could be just me ^^
