Madara Uchiha (うちは マダラ, Uchiha Madara?) was one of the founding fathers of Konoha and the founder of the Uchiha clan. He did battle with and was defeated by the First Hokage at the Valley of the End. He was the first Uchiha to awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan, allowing him to control the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox; Jiraiya suspects that Madara summoned the demon fox to attack Konoha years before the start of the series. In later years he trained Itachi Uchiha and assisted him in the slaughter of the Uchiha clan. When asked how someone of Madara's age could still be alive in the current Naruto storyline, Itachi states that Madara is immortal. Itachi also states that Madara is the only Uchiha to learn the Sharingan's, as yet undisclosed, final secret. Akatsuki member Tobi refers to himself as Madara UchihaBlog
