japanese on the other hand, i'm still learning the language too...well not formally, just when ever i feel like taking it up through music, anime or manga

i don't know what my textbook said since i never read it...i only have one workbook and lots of hmk papers lying around..lots and lots of those.

well, regarding ur reply...
q.1: i dunno about the "much" part...its too vague, but i can cope up to the equivalent of a gr.3 level japanese born student from japan. (which would be about first year japanese for students continuing the language...i think, could be beginning of second year)
q.2:yes i can read sentences...but im usually too lazy to read so i skim

the "watashi ai inu" if u read word for word then it translates as "i love dog" in that respective order. just grammatically incorrect. the second sentence "watashi wa inu ga arimasu" sounds like an incorrect use of another word "aru" -arimasu (to be...or something to show existence to non-living objects) so i thought it said "i have a (non-living;inanimate object)dog". a correct sentence could be like this: watashi wa inu wo araimasu.
and the sentence about hmk being hard..."shukudai wa muzukashii ."
of course to me that all sounded formal..rather than the slang i'm used to using.
