(I've been all alone for more than a week now T-T)

Wombat said the Death Note disk isn't working properly, so here's a link to a codecs download that should make it work. It's the one I downloaded, so it should work fine.

All you have to do (in case you have a dumb moment like me and stare at the screed for ages before you realise what you're supposed to do), is click on the bit that says " Download K-Lite Codec Pack 3.15 Full, Standard and Basic" in orange letters near the top.
