My, my, look how late in the year it's gotten. And still no working scanner over here. I had so many ideas and plans, and life just keeps crossing its arms and saying "NOPE, you still have this to take care of before you progress." Needless to say, I've been quite busy since my return to the good ol' U.S. of A. Artwork, as usual, has taken a bit of a back seat to work/personallife/sleep/anythingelsereally. I do aim to change that though. In the next month or so I'll finally have the financial means to invest a little more into my creative side. That means more drawings. Better equipment. Actually using software. "BUT MARK, YOU ALWAYS SAY YOU'RE GOING TO DO THIS STUFF AND YOU NEVER DO!!!!1!!" Well I've been really goddamn busy for like 4 years now so suck a dick! Now shoot is finally calming down again and I'm starting to get those awesome ideas creeping back up into my head.

Your motivation is that you are almost free to go forth and do what you want with your life!It's not too bad, nothing too crazy has happened to my guys yet. Hopefully it stays that way until we pull out of here.

Haha, almost, but so much classwork just feels like tedious busy-work these days, especially in English class. I also get just about one month before I'm shipped off to Navy's basic training, too. That's good, just come back in one piece, all of you!

Good luck with basic! From what I hear it's not too bad for the Navy but I'm sure it will still test you. Just remember why you're there and that no matter how bad it may suck at times, it will eventually. What MOS are you going to do in the Navy?We'll do our best! We're all pretty good at our jobs so we'll be fine I think.

Thank you! I'm not expecting it to be too terribly bad, but the hardest part for me is going to be the whole waking up early part.For the Navy, we have NEC, Navy Enlisted Classification, and my rating is in Nuclear Power. My exact rating is decided at Nuke school, after I get a feel for what I do best in. I'm fairly certain I'm going to be on a submarine, though, either that or an aircraft carrier.

Ah I see. What score did you make on your ASVAB if you don't mind me asking?Being a specialist in nuclear tech could lead to some pretty good jobs later in life, I hope that works out for you.

94, which is ironic because I got a 96 on the practice one and I did a crap-ton of studying in-between. Yeah, though I'm actually hoping to be a writer later in life. I'm definitely not going to make as much money, but it'll be a whole lot more laid-back as a career. Though who knows, I might try to look for work at a power plant after I get back to keep myself afloat at first. What do you want to do after your time as a Recon Medic is up?

Writing would be cool but it'll be tough and you'll need another job to support yourself unless you have someone who will support you while you write.I have a few things I want to do but I might look into becoming a physical therapist. It's either that or maybe something in law enforcement. I'd be a good candidate for a SWAT team or something along those lines. Also, doing contract work in warzones would be an option, although I don't think my future wife would appreciate that.

Yeah, though I am working on a few materials now (whenever I can actually find time to do them), and though I've rewritten a few, and especially this one that I've been working on the prologue for about four years. I tend to write with a particular theme in mind, then develop the story around that, though I've realized longer, chapter-based narratives can't exactly be written like a short story, many of which I've written already (ones I should probably keep uploading here for people to see...). Ha ha, sounds a bit odd you either want to help in healing people or help in subduing others. I won't judge you for it, though.

I can't go back to working dead-end jobs for greedy companies, busting my @$$ all day so that they can make more money. I need something more out of life, something fulfilling.
Yeah, I'm engaged right now. We met on here actually a long long time ago. We were good friends for the longest time and eventually that grew into more. And our relationship just kept growing and growing until we decided one day we were going to marry each other.
