Okay xD ;;;Now I don't feel as lost anymore @.@
And it's okay! I am not far either! I am self-teaching Japanese to myself. ^^;;
Everything I know is a bunch of random words xD
I can read and write hira/kata and I know basic conversations, only a bit more than hello.
It's why I listen to Japanese music and watch anime in Japanese, to help get me used to hearing it @.@
But I am sure you'll like learning it ^^
I think the hardest part is training yourself to talk fast XD

I never got harassed for teaching myself Japanese; native speakers seemed impressed (?) when I told them I was learning by myself ^^;
Well, I meant saying Japanese words fast xD
It's difficult for me without tripping on the words. I don't have anyone to practice talking out loud to.
It is a very interesting language, though! One day, I want to go to Japan. There is sooo much there I want to see. ^-^
My study methods are a little different, but I will basically do the same. I watch Japanese movies with subs first, then again without to see if I remember or caught any words I could recognize. I listen to Jrock, so... I normally go grab the romaji lyrics and practice writing either hira or kata symbols with the lyrics of my favorite songs.
I like making it fun for myself. ^^
