Hey! The first one is just called Silver Fang in English (Ginga Nagareboshi Gin in Jap)and it's about a dog called Gin who joins a wild pack of dogs to see if their leader really is his father because he thought he had died in a fight with Akakabuto the red furred bear. Silver Fang Legend Weed (Ginga Densetsu Weed in Jap) is about Gin's son,Weed who tries to find his father and also take down various enemies along the way. ^^ In GNG I'm only up to about episode 12 I think and GDW episode 22 or 23.
