You'll be happy to know we finally died down at the restaurant. Although when I walked in yesterday at 5:00 p.m., the morning buffet shift was still cleaning up the front! I guess they were open from 8:00 in the morning until 4:00 in the afternoon. @o@ After that it just died, but Chef Matt wouldn't let us close last night until 10:00 p.m. The grill died down also but I heard the morning was very bad. I finally managed to get a ride home at midnight last night, lol! I'm glad its over and I think I'll have a boring night tonight. My comp. wouldn't let me sign on again this morning. -_-

lol he didn't say anything back lol but guess what? We have some new soda on the grill side ^_^ we even have Diet DrPepper!!! It's my favorite soda :) But that guy was just in the way though he really slowed us down and then we had to go to the Buffet side and get our drinks which was a hassle but now it should be a lot easier and better.

I really liked the history lesson you submitted with your 'cultural pic'. I learned a couple of things I didn't know. It's very imformative and inspiring! There are many 'pit house' ruins around here and I always thought they were from another tribe, but now I'm having other thoughts. I found a very small carved 'soap stone' chipmunk at one site! I have to show it to you now, if I can find it. It was really interesting and so worth all your effort! The pic alone is awesome because it is so complicated and full of symbolism. Your 'eye practice' also just blows me away!! It looks like something you would find in an art book on how to draw eyes!! I can't believe the shading around the eye after looking at it real good. ^_^

I totally wiped out last night at work! My feet went out from under me and it was like in slow motion. Aren't all your worst falls ALWAYS in slow motion?? LOL. I think I was parallel to the floor in midair, lol, so I hit the floor with the total half of my right side. I didn't think my head hit, but later on my neck was killing me and I had this bad headache. I think I got whiplash, lol. It was SO busy for awhile and it was only after it died down that I started to relax. Gina made things fun. ^_^

Also Pat was our supervisor and she was nowhere to be found when it was time to count tips, so I started counting my own, since it wasn't locked, and Joy started recording everything, including our bussers and tipouts, which she had us sign, so we left, and I'm curious as to whether we will all get fired or not, lol!!

I'm not easily discouraged ^_^ and thank you very much but I'm sure you could do it also all I use is one type of brush and then drop the pressure of it down to around 10% and then use the motion blur and of course duplicating the layers so it'll still have the texture and a gradual shading.
I'm doing good just losing my voice is all but now I think I might get a cold because my body is starting to ache which you know isn't good at all lol
I hope you don't get sick it's never fun getting sick especially if you're trying to get well the natural way without any medications which I'm doing lol don't really know why but eh whatever @_o lol See Ya!

"Howling Wolves" is SO beautiful and has much meaning to it. Yes, this tops the dragons by far! This is the second 'native' artwork that you've done and it seems a whole other direction for you to explore. I love how the wolves came out, and it seems as if there is something hidden in the "inner wolf". Hmmm...I have to go back and look again. Hee hee, sorry, but you just surprised me once again, lol. i know what you mean by losing your interest in a painting haha! i didn't get any further with my jeph pic:P cause i have a lot of homework now. it's a really great school!
i went to a place in holland with my twinsister and my parents and after that i went to an island in holland (vlieland: soooo boring, never go to that island!) as introduction for school, i didn't know any one, but it was awesome!

Thanks for the comment on that new pic. I tried a little something new with the color, instead of shading lighter, I shaded darker, pretty much as hard as I could, I tried to give Shadow a fur-looking texture. Thanks, though!

Hey ya, I'm glad you found the tutorial!! It might come in handy one day if you decide to color realism on photoshop. I can't work on Vincent until the weekend again...I miss working on him lol. I drew Reno though yesturday out of boredom, but I'm trying to decide how to color him. Have any suggestions? Thank you for the congrats. My big hangup with photoshop is keeping the lines decent. B/C some stupid problem with my fine motorskills, my wrist can't do long periods of time, but that will be corrected the more practice I get. Oh, I keep forgetting to say that the mountains and the sunset stuff you've been doing is incredibly realistic, really bang-up job!

Thanks SO much!!! I prefer a sunset over a sunrise but I am CAPTIVATED by the night, especially the moon and the stars. Its really funny cause four days ago I saw a postcard which I bought intending to show to you. It is a night pic with a sillouhette of a saguaro cactus against a sky full of stars. There is some mountains sillouhetted as well in the background. Its really dark and everything is completely black except for the sky, which is a dark blue but has some other shades of blue as well. It has alot of stars, milky way, and a comet streaking by. Lol, I guess I just have to show it to you. Yeah, but a night pic would be awesome. The only thing is you won't have all those colors you can play with when you do a sunset or sunrise. The other funny thing is that pic I drew on paint had the morning sky with the star and it also had a saguaro cactus in the foreground. I did that before I ever saw the postcard.

Anyway, I'm talking too much. Everything you do is COOL and I REALLY like the way you depicted the moon on your Glacier pic! That was ONE AWESOME job!!!!

Good point about photoshop. I actually had it in my senior year of high school (Graduated in June, thank God! ^_~). But they stuck me in a room with 30 kids with criminal records who all picked on me because I wasn't on the football team. Giving kids like that chemicals and Exacto Knives isn't such a great idea, as I learned first hand! I had to spend most of my time watching my back instead of learning something useful! Ah well, take it easy, My attempts at my own char are just sad, your stuff is fine. There's no rush, it'll come.

i use no water if i paint, cause if you do, you can see the paper throught the paint. but the paint dries realy fast (if you use acrylics), so only then i use a little water.

Everyone needs a break. You turned out an incredible amount of pictures in a short time, so I can understand if you're feeling a little burnt out. I've been working on a pic for all the Sonic fans on FAC, plus some goofier, more lighthearted stories. Your new pic looks great, though!

I've been working on a detailed (secret) Wauko Sauko pic. Sauko & Ki were the difficult ones, cause of their poses, and making them very detailed (especially their hair). GOOD GOD!! The hair wuz challenging, but I did it!!!XD XD XD

Hi! And well, the only way I thought you would be "affected" was yeah, by being in a bad mood or something. Its good nothing happened, lol, cause I WAS thinking that hell may have broke loose, lol. I'm glad you got to see the fireworks, cause I didn't. I am always stranded and alone most of the time. I know which ones you're talking about that sound like a tank. It must've been crowded, huh? Crap, I miss out on everything. I got to go to Wally World yesterday though and I bought a kneaded eraser!!! Also some blendable watercolor pencils that you can use as pencils or use a wet paintbrush to go over them and blend them like watercolor. I thought it would be fun to try! I also bought some new discs to see what I could do with them. Maybe I can upload my pics onto them. Lol, I know what you mean about struggling to draw things. I'm exactly the same right now. One minute you'd feel inspired to draw, next you've given up coz nothing comes out right. It's strange isn't it? It's gotta be a mental thing...like, I'm not sure, but maybe you've gotta be in a relaxed, clear thinking mood or something. It's a good idea just going back and coloring pics though. I haven't hand colored anything in ages lol...maybe I should...well, I'll see ya later ok!! Thanks again for liking my symbolism attempt. I personally like to see the progression of a pic cause you can see the developement over time. Its also gives us amateur artists a guideline as to the techniques to use and its effects as you do them. I learned alot from watching your "Tobey" progression. Anyway, I'm dealing with spreadsheets in my comp. class and its driving me CRAZY!! Have a good day!

i don't have photoshop, but i wanna try it someday. i also don't know how to get it...
i never do landscapes, but if i will, i don't do it in every detail. I think this is how i’ll paint it:

first of all, if i paint, i always use the style: impressionism. Just look at the internet for impressionism and you’ll find landscapes which are painted in that style. (i just like it)

If i paint grass, i always look where the sun is, and on that side i use the colors yellow, light green and white, and of course green. And on the other side i use some darker colors, like dark green, yellow, and maybe a little black.
The trees: that’s difficult, of course brown, with white and yellow to show the structure. (i always use different colors then the natural color, that’ll be a little more expressive). and the leafs: just like the grass.
Water is also difficult. When you paint the sun if its shining in the water, use the colors white, yellow and orange, and the water blue (of course) and to show the structure: white, light blue and grey.
And the clouds: i don’t know how to explain this... but i’ll do my best. Use the colors white, grey, and light blue. Paint in short strokes, a little like pointillism. And look outside to see some shapes of the clouds.

I hope you understand it... i had a lot of help from the dictionary, so i don’t know if i used the correct words.

Hey thanks for all the comments! And in reply to your question on what I use for inking, I use Micron pens - they're like Sharpies but more precise, they don't bleed as much and they don't smell either. You can get them at most craft and art stores. ^_^ (I'm also learning to use Photoshop but it's hard -_-;)

Lol, I can understand about giving up shading and coloring on the projects. There gets to a point that it's too much, I know. Like, after doing it for so long, it becomes somewhat boring. Glad to hear your wrist isn't hurting so much! My wrist thing came with my rib injury. I was practicing for hockey, and I was skating when a kickplate at the bottom of the boards got caught in my skate, and I hit the door, which flew open, revealing three sharp metal bars, which I hit with my ribs, then I fell down on top of my wrist. And, snap, crackle, pop, ribs are bruised and my wrist is throbbing! Great pic, too!

Oh yeah, for your wrist, I have a suggestion. Be forewarned, this will numb it, but after that short period, it should be fine. It's not long, and this is just a suggestion, but when I hurt my wrist, as well as my ribs (I'm havin' a heckuva year, lol!) I soaked my wrist in freezing water, then hot water, alternating, and it felt alot better after the numbness wore off.

Is it that carnival part in Sonic 3? If so, I can't get that part either. There's a code called "debug", you can go through walls if you turn yourself into a ring, for example. Basically, it was used by programmers to place objects in the game. You could try that. Good luck with that, I'm trying a 3-d project myself, a comic cover I have. That means shading tones! Hoo-ray!

Damn I only put the pic up 5 mins ago!^^ I did this pic in Art class. See we were supposed to cut someperson out from a magazine, cut the pic in half, glue the magazine half on white paper, and you draw the other half.^_^-Tiffy

I'm sorry if i never said it lol, well basicly, i made this one with animationshop 3. i've drawn every frame of it, the one with the emerald tossing is about 64 frames. But i re-use the other ones, for example, the part that he tosses up is 10 frames in total. The part that he uses his hands are only 3. So to let him catch it again is the part where i played frame 3 to 1 in reverse order. That way you can re-use your pose you already did. Allthough i did one picture of blain. ( drawn with pencil that is ) For the other frames, i simply used painshop pro to edit his emotions. Its really simple once you get the hang of it. This animation took me about 4 hours in total i think, i've lost the count lol... -_-'

Ha ha ha...you're funny! Raquel forced Mary to work today, since there really wasn't a choice, as she was unable to go in this morning. I'm gonna walk over there after class and just hang out. Gina is on break but she said shes not going back to school until next year. I don't know why...she didn't say. She already found out that everyone is new. lol. She was disappointed. I wanted to go back there to, but the transportation is just too hard for me. Ha ha ha....maybe you'll be working soon. I'll let you know or you just might get a SURPRISE phone call!! So BEWARE!!! it isn't realy hard to do that, the first time i did it, i was just trying and i found out that my way was realy working. and now, i guess i'm going to stop painting for a week or two, haha, i think i start doing that large pic another time. it doesn't work when i just finished a drawing or something else and a day after that i start another one.

Tablets are those things that let you use special pens to draw on them on the computer instead of a mouse. Google wacom tablets and it'll give you a better idea.

Oh, with the emblem thing, I used a pic from the original Sonic game from the Genesis/megadrive, and drew it freehand the best I could, took sonic out, put my symbol it and...totally sucked at doing it, lol! Seriously though, I thought it would fit!

Hey! I was wondering if you could help me... You know that animated Blain? Well, i was thinking to make a running Blain... But i cant get the poses right without an example! >_<

And because your good at drawing anatomy's and human bodies, i was wondering if you could create 6 drawings of a running man,each drawing in an another running pose, like one foot before the other, so that if you placed it frame by frame, it would seem like he's running... It sounds like a lot, but it doesnt have to be a human, a stick figure would do just fine, its just the anatomy i need to take reference of. You'll get credit offcourse... So... eehm... wanna help me out here...? Cause i suck at drawing those poses... >_

Hey! Thanks for the comment! Well, it wasnt that hard though, i just drew 1 pic of blain, scanned it, saved it six times with different lip sync, saved it five times closing his eyes. Then scrambled the lip sync together, so i made every frame appear 3 times, making it 18 frames, plus 5, total of 23, plus the grinning part, which is 5 frames. Then i added everything up, made an example animation, set the FPS and saved it as a .gif! ^_^

It maybe sound like a bunch of mumbo jumbo, but its easy really, i did it with animation shop 3 ^_^

Well, whatever you use, it's all awesome.  I find that a few good B pencils, 4B and 6B, help me with dark shades, though really there isn't much difference... and they do have a certain different feel.  :)

Hey MitchellP, you draw poses the same way? That's cool!! I agree with the stick figure making it looked all squashed up...and when you do put shapes over the stick figure, it just doesn't look right...I had a look in my manga book before, and reread the bit about poses. I'm gonna give it a shot the way they do poses. Apparently they tell you to draw the basic shape of the whole body in it's pose, then to add joints in, and finally to add clothes and detail. It's kinda confusing but it might be better than the stick figure method. You've put a new Rocko picture up too...I'll go have a look at him!! I really gotta put new stuff up lol. Still got NextGuardian's contest pic to finish too, and a request...and another request. Oh well...I'm gonna be pretty busy!! Hope ya ok, and I'll see ya later!!

I had a chance to post some comments on some pics of yours so I did.  Yeah, I found a real computer.  lol.  I was happy cause this morning was the first time I had to sit down and draw.  I finished a fairy drawing but the lead from the pencil gets on everything and I can't erase it so I got mad and went over everything with a fine tipped marker.  It still looks nice but I would have preferred it in pencil.  It would've looked nice with some shading.

Aah well that just sucks... i think your good with perspective and stuff... which comes in handy when your drawing guns and vehicles... too bad... i was really looking forward to it... *cries*

Hey! Whats up? Remember that Battlefield Sonic pic i did...? Well, the boxart? Maybe not lol... Well, the idea is that 357 and i are starting a huge @$$ pic, a picture ingame from Battlefield Sonic. We're gonna draw it like the way we think it is if its a real game lol. It mostly involves Battlefield 2 ( dont know if you ever played, it kicks @$$ lol ) Ok, so the idea is to make a "Screenshot" from Battlefield Sonic. It mostly involves sonic characters in a huge desert fighting each other with weapons, tanks, combat helicopters, fighter jets, and stuff. I was wondering if you would like to participate with the pic. 357 and i already agreed that if the pic was done, we both could post it on our own profiles to show it off, but offcourse leave credit. The same is for you. If its done, you could post it on your own profile. I already started to draw an F-18 Hornet flying lol. So... Wanna join? ^_^

Hey, sorry it's taken a while. I haven't had much time on the comp in the past three days...a certain Bijoux has been hogging it all day (death glares in sister's direction) You've done a Rocko pic?! I just think you should leave a few up, so you can see how much you've improved!! It's always good to look back and see how far you've come. And if you're able to pick out faults or errors in your older work, it means you're improving too. I've found so many faults lately in my own older work, that it's pretty scary. Kinda embarrassing lol...I'm just forcing myself to get poses right. I can't use the stick figure and shape method for some reason...just kinda sketch ppl free hand from what I see in my mind. Hey MitchellP!! You've been uploading some of your older stuff lol. It's good to keep older work up so you can keep looking back over them. I've kept all my old pics up, even though some are over a year old and look pretty bad...particularly my first Sharok sketch...but it's awesome that you've put them up again!! Hehehe, I think you should do a Rocko and Spunky sketch. You're really good at cartoons like that!! It is kinda strange that they show it here and not over there....I guess it is kinda an old show, so maybe there are newer, better things to put on instead. Ah well....about inking my pics too, I just use an artline pen. I have a medium tipped one I use for thicker lines, and a small tipped one for detail and thinner lines....they are great to use coz they don't smudge or bleed, but it's easy to see wobbly looking lines...speaking of which, I realised why all my lineart looks shaky....I usually sit on my bed to ink pics, but it limits hand and wrist movement....heh...I feel kinda dumb for not picking it out sooner lol. It was only after working at the dinner table did I realise.....heheheh, I'm such an idiot. Whoot, this is getting long again... I'll see ya later ok!!

One more question for you:  How do you get your drawings to look so clean when you're done?  Mine always wind up being scratched, or have eraser marks all over it. 

That's okay, the invitation is still open until the deadline, but no pressure, you've drawn me lots of pics.  All classics, to be honest. 

eehm... im using a rollerball to ink my images, it sometimes leaks a bit, but not that bad, just be careful when your inking it. Luckily you can remove those scratches in photoshop ^_^
 
Well about the lighting effect, i used a brush, size between 40 and 60, cant remember that well, then selected white, and just scribbled until it looked like a thunder thingy... ^_^

ANY tips on drawing humans would be appreciated, especially shading the faces and drawing hair.  I get the right shape, but wrong size, or vice versa.

I hear ya!  I can't draw humans at all!  I'm okay, if not stressed, but it comes with the age, I guess, lol.  I've been working with my characters, but I just can't get the head right, the body I'm good with. 

Hey, you've seen Kablam? That's so cool!! I wish they'd bring it back lol. I loved that alien and caveman thing on it...you know how the alien's trying to educate the caveman...that was funny. I saw Rocko's modern life on the weekend...they've got it on the Nickelodeon channel over here, but it's on at midnight. I used to love watching it a while back, and just watching it again...forgotten how funny it was lol. They really gotta bring some of the older shows back to telly. Did you ever watch Excalibur? It was a computer animated series. I liked that too....it kinda disappeared though. Ah well...the battle trophies...next time you start a game on star ocean, when Fayt takes Sophia into the game simulation they have an option to create Battle data. If you say you want to create a battle trophy file, it'll create a spot on the memory card for them. So, one of the battle trophies is fighting 100 battles. When you've fought 100 battles, it'll come up with an option to save your trophy to the file at the end of the battle. Sorry if I'm confusing you...basically next time you begin a game, create a file in the simulation gaming thing at the resort hotel. I finally beat that Crystal thing in a minute....trained Fayt up to level 53 lol. Talk about boring...lol, the box jellyfish....they're scary...hate to be stung by one. I had a redback spider in my room a few years ago, and they can kill I think if left untreated too. That was scary too (shudders)....anyhow, better end this soon. It's getting long....see ya later!!!

I had the most random memory before...it was a funny video clip on a Nickelodeon show called "Kablam" ages ago...heheh, I remembered it, and my sister found the video clip and MP3 to download. You might have seen or heard it before, but it's about a Monkey playing Hockey with kids at the pond. I'm giving ya the link if you wanna get it stuck in your head like me lol. I had a raging fit at Star Ocean before too...I'm trying to get the Crystal Cerberus battle trophy by killing it in one minute. Hey MitchellP, I've just been a bit busy lately...I've finish writing my Cry of the Wolf fic and begun to get ideas for a sequel lol. Kinda hard though...my newest Original Character is a Kitsune, which is strange for Jak and Daxter....oh well...I started the Maze of Tribulations on one of my older games, and gotten to that floor with the moving rooms. You know, you gotta move them around to get somewhere below...yeah...on my newest game I'm up to the Shrine of Kaddan, but I had to stop and train up Maria for a bit coz I know there are four rooms later on, each with an enemy in it you gotta fight...so she's on LV30 I think, and Fayt's on 42...training is so boring -_-' I really wanna watch X men!! My sister went and watched it with a friend on Tuesday night, even though she doesn't really know much about it. I used to watch the animated series lol. But yeah, I really wanna watch it sometime!!! I love Wolverine so much....hehehehe, he's so cool....and Storm's cool too...I like her hair lol. Anyhow, I'll see ya later ok!! Toodles!! *hugs*

Thanks for telling me about the level 7 in Maze of Tribulations!! I'm going to try that out when I've finished this game I'm currently trying to complete. Only just made it to the castle Aquaria for the first time though coz I've been training for a bit. Fayt's on LV 35 right now...it's hard to train them though, coz the enemies right now don't give enough exp lol. Only those lady bird flying things and the dodo looking things do near surferio...and even then you need triple exp. Thank you too for explaining the 4th level to me!! I probably wouldn't have figured that out, and be wandering around aimlessly for years... Your Cliff is on 199?! Man, if I had a strong Cliff like that, you wouldn't need anyone else on the party O.O He'd just randomly kill stuff on his own...I'm scared to come across Freya lol. Knowing my luck she'll kill me as soon as I step onto the battlefield. You know, I struggled to beat Luther my first go....had to get my younger sister to kill him after I tried and failed 5 times. He kept using this attack and I died...and then Adray died...and then Albel died, until the unholy words "Game Over" appeared with the sad, sad, failure based music...my second time round playing the game though, I killed him my first go. Maybe the game liked me or something the second go...can games do that? Wow, this is getting long. Thanks again for the tips!! I'll see you later!! *huggles*

i did the drawing in pencil. but when i scanned it i looked screwed up and i could barely see it.so i darkened it with a filter and thickened it with another filter. But the one i actually drew looked somewhat realistic. iv been working on flash animations lately. those are alot of fun, you know, like on newgrounds. Im working on the frame by frame technique.

Hey ya, how do you get your characters to level up so fast?! It took me years to get Fayt up to level 120 for that battle trophy thing...you must have a great training spot or something lol. Or you have patience to keep training for hours on end. I'm glad you liked that second link I gave you too!! It's amazing what you find lol. I love the artwork that the artist has done on that dragon site. All the colors are so beautiful and are mixed really well...heheh, I'd love to color that like. I'm giving you another site which may help with human anatomy. It's another manga based site, which had the rain tutorial on it that I gave to Mr Gimp. But they have a good tutorial on drawing bodies, for both female and male. Also have tips for doing poses too. And have photoshop stuff etc. But it's also a really helpful site if you choose to check it out. Anyhow, I'll see ya later I guess. I'll be keeping an eye out for your character sketches too!! I went searching around the net last night for photoshop clouds...I found the best site lol. It had help for coloring, but it also has dragon drawing tutorials, and human tutorials. Here are their stats:
Ekyt is a human. He wears a red or white T-Shirt with a black trench coat. Fingerless black gloves, and he has a dark brown hair in a beatle cut (short but thick). Hazel eyes, black pants. The shoes are up to you. He also wears a mask, black with red slashes near the eyes, but that’s optional.

Linda-Su is an echidna. I did a pic of her, or you can use this:
She looks like Julie-Su without the metal in her hair. She is deep pink with black tips on her dreadlocks, green eyes, white gloves. She wears a black vest. Boots and pants/skirt design are up to you, or you can leave it out entirely.
Please let me know if you are interested. I don’t know what the prizes are yet.
