Hmm....well it must be the paper then if you want like more of a realism effect I suggest trying typing paper lol it's a lot of fun to use because you don't have to blend anything the paper does it for you ^_^ but it smudges easily though ;_;I use a 0.5 mm mechanical pencil what size do you use?

Your artwork is amazing @_@ What type of pencil do you use?? The reason why I'm asking is that your pics would look even more amazing if you managed to darken in some of the shadows to really bring out the pic. What I use is a mechanical pencil because it can reach certain shades which some pencils can't and you won't have to use various pencils either ^_^ plus you can do more details if you want due to the fine lead.
