That's wierd. Well, you can still put the image on your profile, even if it isn't the real profile picture! You right-click on the image, click "Properties" and highlight the address, then copy. Then you go to the "Edit profile" page, and paste it. Make sure you put in "img." Lke this:

[IM*G] (Address here) [/*IMG]

But take out the aterisks! You should be able to do this with almost any image.
