Shadows

Lurking in the shadows with my eternal pain
Wondering how everything turned insane
Picking up the pieces of shattered glass
I take a look at my horrid past
Going over and analyzing everything that went wrong
Instead of a poem I could probably write a song
A list I could make of everything that I had
Or a hate list of everything that I KNOW went bad
Always trying to put all of the pieces together
Knowing each as brittle as a feather
Slowly and gently falling to the ground
I scream without making a single sound
Hiding my pain so no one sees
all I do is try to flee
Of course who wouldn’t if you were me
Its really not all hard to see
If I could make everything right I promise I would
But for now ill sit in the moonlit hood
I have been stabbed in the back oh so many times
I’m telling you it should be a crime
Against the law to be so betrayed
It’s still like that to this very day
I turn to look for someone to trust
But all I find is sadly some dust
