Hi there, I saw your question on my bat-anthro picture, so I dropped by... ^^ Hm, how do I color like that? Let's see, first of all, I use Prismacolor pencils because the leads are nice and soft (I could probably get the same effect with other colored pencils that have harder leads - it would take longer though). The key to the shine effect is through lots and lots of blending and layering. I color the colored areas, while leaving the highlight areas blank. Then, I fill the highlight areas with white colored pencil, which runs into the colored area. It all kind of smears together and ends up looking pretty good.
I hope that made sense! o_o; Try it out for yourself - working in highlighting and shading can really make a picture look interesting.
