Hi I would like to report harassment from a user here who blamed me for something entirely unprovoked. I only commented on their profile and apparently I am being accused of 'terrorism' for that.

As you can see from the thread this attack doesn't make much sense and comes across as threatening.

Look at this from my perspective:  If I'm a cop and some random person on the street runs up to me claiming I have to go arrest someone, someone who seems to be doing nothing unusual or threatening (outside of your interactions with them), what am I supposed to do?  If your expectation is that I should immediately draw my gun and go shoot them based on nothing but your word, THIS is why our country gets criticized for police brutality.

A random user without previous experiences wouldn't leave such evidence as listed above.

There is actually not much need to link specific comments, staff have a tool that can pull them up in a heartbeat (including from multiple users, with various grouping options - I know, because I built it).

We could probably use some kind of tool to analyze votes (likes/dislikes) by users but I would consider that not a high priority, as votes are generally (not strictly) confidential.

We shall see what happens, then -- be mindful not to over-react.

The tool can also fetch comments from multiple users simultaneously.  Ordinary users technically had access to a limited version of it (restricted to their own comments) but a link to it was not included in the UI like it is for staff members.

It's good to know such tools exist, it'll make dealing with troublesome users easier.

As for voting - I've noticed that certain users abuse this feature by downvoting one picture from sockpuppet accounts, to avoid being spotted.

There is no context. That's the problem. I asked the guy what his drawing was and he accuses me of being a horrible person so I'm not sure how else to feel about that.

As I wrote below the picture - perhaps I did over-react, though this would've never happened if "awoljee" dressed his original comment in less offensive words.

The comment was written "What is this" - it can be interpreted as a trolling attempt, as it sounds quite aggressive (like a call to start a comment fight). I understood that "awoljee" wants a fight, so I replied as I felt appropriate and blocked him.

Did you by any chance sign up on this site just to impersonate another user and harass them in turn?

What exactly is the problem with the thumbnail?

Ambiguity is the Number One Problem with the average bug report -- unless it's something that's patently obvious (which is always rarer than you think), we really don't know what we should even be looking for, until you give us a summary of what you expected to see and how it differs from what actually happened.

In the case of your submission:  I see a drawing of an orange skull centered on the page, occupying roughly 30% of the image's width and 50% of the image's height, and there appear to be some shaded lines radiating outwards from it (otherwise the background appears relatively blank); I do not have any reason to suspect that this isn't what the drawing was intended to be.

So, your turn to explain.

The thumbnail looks different from the artwork that I posted here. I replace my artwork from digitally edited artwork to an unedited cropped version of my artwork.  I don't want to be too click baity but I want my artwork looks exactly like the artwork that I posted here.

Again, I have the issue that if the thumbnail (and/or resized versions) don't represent the original artwork, I don't know what the original is supposed to look like at all.

On the other hand: did you upload a different version of the file but the thumbnail didn't change to reflect it?  THAT would be a sufficient summary of the problem....

Yes, I replaced it because I realized there is nothing wrong with original scanned artwork and it cropped by Instagram. 

Now, given other people can't read the parent comment here, consider this a quick FYI.  Since FAC does not have a built-in notifications system, how quickly I can reply tends to be limited by how often I check my email.  Which is unfortunate, but regardless, never assume that if I don't respond quickly I must be ignoring someone.

You're correct on all counts.  I recently changed my password and have been having some trouble remembering it.  The approval queue got a little backed up for 2-3 days, but by now it's cleared.

You should have brought this to my attention earlier (as suggested by every reject notice I filed for it).  NOBODY has given me any information yet about this 'missing category' bug and it's literally impossible for me to research (much less fix!) the problem WITHOUT INFO to go on.

According to your latest description of it, you were picking the category "Cartoons > Other not listed" at submission time?

The bug is that certain categories (this likely among them) are not appearing on the approval CP at all, the field is literally blank (and attempts to mod-edit the submission show it having no category at all either).

Aside: There is no need to add that to your piece's Description to comment about the approval process -- in fact I never even noticed it until now because it was rejected on ground other than its description.

I really need to start diving back into the FAC codebase again because now that I have a testcase I can start figuring out what the heck is going wrong.  I already checked the category info on its own terms and didn't see any problems....

In the meantime, I've given the piece an approval, but I still need more info from you:  Edit the piece and select the category again.  Does it stay when you go back to view the submission?  Whether it does or not will give me clues where the problem is actually occurring internally.

It's been a while since I popped in here for any reasons, but I am an old-time user of this site and wanted to ask if something was possible. I figured anything is possible if you are hosting and backing up information from the site. Although, this would have been so long ago, I wouldn't be surprised if what I am looking for would have been purged long before now.

Back in the day, my username was quake0099, and for some reason, I deleted that account a long time ago. For nostalgia purposes, I am looking to re-access some of the things that were on there. I have tried the Internet Wayback Machine with no luck, so I was wondering if it would be possible to re-activate a profile or to reclaim some of the data from it.

A bug I have just recently noticed regarding the forums is an inability to login when already logged in on the main site. It proposes a SQL query issue - not sure if that's your game, but it could be considered a bug.

By the way, I've not been an active user on this site for ten years - it's interesting to see that you're still in practice as admin.

This is, unfortunately, a known bug which is mostly related to the use of IPv6 addresses (such as yours).  There is no fix.

I believe this is one of those where there is no rule against it technically, but it is generally frowned upon to do it much.

Yes and no.  The approval system is selective (and has been for some time), so some submissions require manual review while other submissions do not.

Ultimately, the fact is we don't have a policy on the matter of group/shared accounts.  At all.  It's uncharted territory for us; the implied rule has always been that FAC accounts are personal (limit one user) accounts and this kind of issue has basically never been raised or discussed before.  (By the way, thanks for taking time to discuss this.)

But a general rule of thumb (from our perspective) is, if you're allowed to upload work created by basically anyone, how is that different from any other image-hosting site?

Um....No, that has been in the ToS for years, Strata isn't making anything up simply to be right. Fact of the matter here is the matter of shared accounts and actually Strata is mistaken and this has been discussed on one previous occasion many years ago. One of the primary debated elements was the fact of abuse potential. Sudden shifts in user style and skill level is one of the preliminary flags in abuse checks on this site. Having a user with regular shifts in style will cause issues with our screening process. Another issue is...well....the event of a break up. Yeah, that produces a plethora of problems with shared accounts so I am not going to go into details on that one. As for display of familial imagery, like things drawn by siblings, spouses ect who do not have accounts, it was decided many years ago that this was not permissible and that cases like that, the creating artist should create an account of their own.

However, there are concessions in the ToS for collaboration works which is what this event sounds like. Collaboration works are permitted however they need to be appropriately credited along with documentation of what part the submitting user played in the creation of the work. In this case the description simply states "above art done by my gf " which constitutes work done by another artist under the ToS and is not permissible.

Long and short, you need to document collaborations clearly in the description box provided.

As a site, it is our right and privilege to set rules for what we will or will not allow for submission.  And the core underlying rules for our submission policy (the wording of which may be outdated, but nontheless) have basically never changed: Your work only, no photos, no porn, cite specific sources as used.

However, in the case of #853195 I can verify it was held for review based on the category you submitted it to (Tutorials).  I would have rejected it for that reason alone (but with the ability to resubmit), however I got confused as I read the description.

Why do you think contests might not be allowed?  Users are always free to post ideas for other users to compete over.  Our forum layout has always included a section for this (though, due to IPv6 related bugs not everyone can necessarily access the forums).

Unfortunately this is a known bug in the forums coding and we simply have no fix.  It seems related to users browsing from an IPv6 address (which you seem to be).  The forum software is supposed to be IPv6 aware, but it's really coded around IPv4 and from the SQL dump you may notice it is attempting to log an IPv6 address in a field intended exclusively for IPv4.

And how do I fix this?

One option is: you might be able to configure your wireless adapter to only use IPv4 protocols (most routers are configured to use both).

It depends on the original image that was edited -- e.g. there is no rule against editing something YOU created yourself -- your work your right to do that.

This being said, editing/plaigarizing an image that was taken off somebody else's work (especially commercial work, such as anime/cartoons/etc.) is definitely not allowed here, but if you are going to report a user then we need to be able to identify the source material that was borrowed/edited from.

When you are logged in (and you are), near the upper right corner of the screen, next to your username and avvie there is a button labelled 'submit'.  Hover over it to see the options.  Note that our submission process is designed with desktops/laptops (keyboard and mouse) in mind and as such may not necessarily be tablet/smartphone compatible.

Naturally, the approval panel relies on FAC staff actively reviewing it from time to time.  We currently have just two users doing this (myself and Battou), and between us we probably review it maybe 5-6 times a week.  So while we can generally process something within the same day, sometimes things pile up for longer before we review the queue.

For your submission #852086, I've processed it for now but I will warn that image files exceeding certain sizes (such as width, height, and/or total megapixels) are always held for manual review by AP staff, even if it would otherwise have been processed automatically.  And while the exact threshold varies depending on the nature of the image, who is on duty (and how lenient we feel) at the time, in general, if your image file exceeds 4-5 megapixels you can expect to receive a rejection message about it.

Generally speaking, it is not good practice to submit original-full-resolution scans/photos of your artwork to the Internet -- you should keep those on your personal storage (local backup or private cloud storage) and compile secondary copies that have been resized smaller so that they can be viewed at 100% size on a typical display resolution (usually less than 2000px wide).

So to make sure I'm understanding this correctly, you mean artwork created from/using said bases?

For a quick compare-contrast, we do not allow 'generator' or 'dollmaker' type submissions -- defined by the generator providing most or ALL of the components/resources present in the final result, with no actual artistic effort (i.e. production) from the end user.

If you have (i.e. can cite) permission to use a base image/work to modify and create a work of your own from, it does not matter whether the base image is traditional or digital in nature.  Conceptually, this is no different from an explicit collaboration between two (or more) artists, therefore the same ground rules apply -- which is basically to cite a URL to the page of the original image.  As long as we can verify that, it's usually pretty easy to tell when the artist created that image with this purpose in mind.

On an aside, I myself have three pieces in gallery that are traditional colorings of lineart created by other artists. :)

The steps posted in the forum topic are not in reference to your wi-fi hotspot but the wi-fi settings on your computer and OS.

Yeah, I was afraid that would happen.  I posted a topic about it here since it seems to be happening so much.  You might be able to configure your network adapter to ignore IPv6 addresses and communicate via IPv4, which solves the issue for some users.

Yeah, we haven't been keeping up on news.  For a long time it feels like there's been no 'real' news to update with....

If that image is accurate, that could qualify as a copyright infringement ... however, if that is the case I would definitely need a link to where it was posted on FAC and not just a screenshot showing a side-by-side comparison.  I already checked Lucifer's gallery and found only three images, none of which are relevant.

She hates the fact that I have used a parody known as memes on my deviantart. My meme's are usually backed with facts of her past attitude and judging from the looks of how this is going, she really hasn't learned much from the past. you're not the first or the only person to have told her to just block/ignore me (not only myself but other people who have made parodies of her as well) but she will make double accounts just to harass the people who parody her and her artwork. I don't post these things here on FAC, because I understand that she has a problem with parodies and I know that it's risky business to begin with, hence why my piece that I actually drew depicting a parody of her entire attitude and her character was taken down. So I don't really post any of those things here on the website.

Yes they are indeed on my deviantART account since I didn't wish to get into anymore trouble or disturb the princess with my rights as a human being to draw, but seeing as how one image I made sent her off the edge and a mod removed it since it appeared to be causing an issue, not that I'm mad or displeased with it, I know you guys have a job and rules to apply, however just disappointed in the fact as to how far Elizabeth is taking it and claiming that I should repent to "atone" for my sins, despite of her own sins where she titles everything in a curse word and makes journals either to harass people like myself or send death threats.
I'm so sorry that you're just another pawn to Erin/Elizabeth that she thought she could use against me to take away my freedom of speech in an attempt to stop me from doing parodies of her and the behavior she displays. This is just one of the many reasons why she has an E.D. page. Although the article is filled with satire, her behavior and the evidence of it is all based on events that took place either on deviantART and/or other websites that she's displayed them on. Also you're starting to cuss people out, right on a moderators profile, which will be easily seen as an offense of harassment, as for the journals you made, they are targeting and name dropping journals. Hello, I haven't been here in a while..But could you please tell Elizabeth-Fan to stop posting stuff on my profile. She's already made a hate list of users from various websites and posted it on here, It's becoming an annoyance and it's becoming border line harassment. 

Judging by comments from other users it seems to have gone well beyond crossing that line.

Yeah...Erin tends to take things beyond too far. She always does this whenever she comes to a new art site. She's been permanently banned from dA, Weasyl, SoFurry, Fur Affinity, Scratch, the Wiki website, and probably other sites. I was surprised by how long you managed to keep calm with her.

It had been a while since the last conflagration.  If she wants to put that behind her and start over on a second chance she needs to keep the past IN the past.

Strata, people have tried time and time again to help her or advised her to do that. She never listens, hence why she got banned. She feels the need to make people suffer over childish things and demands to get her way.

You reported this before, but our stance on the matter hasn't changed any.  If she drew the artwork, it does not qualify as (and cannot be reported for) image theft.  Likewise, if she properly credited the character's creator/owner, then it does not qualify as character theft/plagiarism.

And ... IIRC, you reported this piece before for basically the same reason, which usually means you'll just get the same answer all over again.  If there haven't been any new developments, you won't get a new verdict.

Unfortunately we basically can't help with this.  The version of phpbb we run the forums on is so old nobody will offer support for it anymore.  It is SUPPOSED to be IPv6-compatible, but without actually taking a look at the code the site forums actually run on (which was slightly modified from stock phpBB2 already) we can't really investigate it ourselves either.

For what it's worth, your comment was indeed posted from an IPv6 address and that seems distinctly related to the error.

Belated reply, but assuming you meant that you logged out of FAC and then viewed your profile page, then it saying you are "offline" IS the correct thing to do, because logout = offline.

You've had such a history of account name changes that I have a hard time taking it seriously.  But, thanks for telling me all the same.

It's odd cause I've never had or seen this problem until just yesterday. I figured it was a something to do with the forum itself but, you mentioned something about an IPv6 address, how would that potentially cause this error? (Still have no access due to this error continuing to pop up.)

IPv6 addresses are 4x as long as IPv4 addresses.  If phpBB2 doesn't recognize IPv6 properly and attempts to force it into a database field built for an IPv4 address only, error.

I had someone leave two comments on my comment section which you alone can read but they said they wanted me to remove a picture? Last I checked I wasn't an admin. Ah, I see those are two pictures I am aware of currently.  I am still not sure whether to draw the line -- as I said on one of them, if it's judged to be hate/attack art then it is getting removed; if it's not, it falls under artistic speech and can stay.

Given the situation at hand, it's disguised as artistic speech but it is attacking someone. I would say remove the picture and all signs of the fight to keep it from escalating and put them both in a corner. Also keep in mind to onlookers I'm a neutral party. I'm not taking sides I just want the fight to go away. There's something called the block button folks, use it.

Guys, if I may point out that posting images on your profile page is NOT governed by the same terms as your gallery submissions are required to follow.  A.k.a. claims of "art theft" do NOT necessarily apply here, users are generally allowed to post whatever images they wish.

This being said, the image in question is clearly causing some issues with other users, so I am going to remove it for now.

This is just an FYI -- as you can see from the posts below, I've taken the liberty of culling several comments from my page here. I can still access them (via staff tools) when I need to. The situation surrounding them is not considered resolved, however.

Autism isn't one specific disorder so much as an entire class of disorders.  It has degrees and variations and so forth.

And, unfortunately, learning disabilities (of any sort) and short tempers seem to coincide with each other.

I know now first hand it can be hard to wrap your mind around a neruological disorder and controll it at time. I think that being able to vent to someone could help.

Yeah, you do seem pretty quick to go hot-headed.  Sometimes it can help to just put the computer down and walk away for awhile, then return to it later (such as the next day) with a cool head.

In my case, it probably helps I was born the middle child in my family, a social position that favors being calm and cool-headed.

As for the subject of autism ... I personally believe the condition is over-diagnosed and over-medicated, but that's not important because I have no practical use for the lay opinion.  And heck, I probably meet half the criteria for some degree of it myself....

Why aren't people simply blocking her? Some of these people actually knew what she was like before she came on here, so like me I blocked her right away. Are people actually waiting for her to make the wrong move so that they have an excuse to get her banned? I'm not sticking up for her, I know what she's done and it's disgusting, but it doesn't seem right to just let her comment on something or someone's artwork, knowing what will happen down the road. By blocking her, she can't express her anger at all towards anyone! Maybe it will help her cool down eventually, I don't know. 

Everyone has their good and bad days.  While I was looking through her comment history there I did find some comments that did not provoke arguments, and a few comments that were even positive in tone (and I'm talking "top-level" comments, not replies).  I made sure to review each page to catch the context/conversation in which they were posted, too.

Ultimately, the matter of blocking is a personal preference.  Some people are quick to block, sometimes you block someone pre-emptively, and some people (like me) prefer to avoid blocking.  (And I'm not saying that just because I have a mod/admin position; my blocklists on dA and FA are virtually empty too.)

Well, for me, blocking or disabling the comments prevents hate speech. Not necessarily because of bashing on my content or me. I can handle that. But it’s to prevent hate speech against individuals in the comment section, especially if it’s a child. Some person might come along, say something mean, and then I’m liable for it because I should’ve been there to stop that from happening. Now, there’s an emotionally scarred person that might commit suicide or something and that could get me into trouble. There have been cases of that, too. That’s just one of the reasons why I would block somebody whom I’ve seen multiple times say things that cause people to lose their heads (not in a literal sense). I don’t know, I’m just being cautious. But, in all honesty, I hope Erin grows into a better person

When a picture is queued for approval it means just that -- it'll be processed whenever a staff member logs in and checks the queue.  We try to check it every 1-2 days, but it is a manual system....

And, of course, there is also the claim that you provoked this with your own behavior, in which case it's safe to call it comeuppance.

I don't like complicated decisions like this.  (Not that doing a mod delete is a complicated action, but the decision of whether to take that action at all is another matter.)  For now, I'll confer with our other staff first.

You have to resize it using a program on your own computer (Photoshop, GIMP, etc.) and upload the resized file when you're done.

Yes, FAC definitely does need some active code/feature development again.  Unfortunately I've been out of the coding loop for a long time, and the current codebase was implemented solo by cstdenis (for now I can only assume it's stored in the SVN repository where I can check out a copy sometime), which means a lot of learning before anything significant can be done.

I tried doing what Lucky did. Clicked "Delete my Account" closed the window and everything, didn't touch the site for a few hours. I came back to see if account had been deleted and it's still here. :(

As stated by other members, "Delete My Account" does not truly delete the account. I just made a mock account, tried to delete, and I could log in like normal. However, when I look up my mock username on Google with "fanart centralm" there are no results. Usually, I can at least see one link linking to a fanart central account. Maybe deleting makes your account hidden from the other world but not within Fanart Central? 

Scratch that; I just tried logging into that same mock account NOW, and it said it was officially deleted.

The simplest explanation would be submitting to a monitored category.  "Games > Other Not Listed" (along with several other "Not Listed" type categories) are currently set to require stricter (or mandatory) staff approval.

Recently I've been unable to reply to comments left under my own pictures. I can leave comments on profiles and other users' work, but when I click on one of my own images I appear to be logged out. When I try to log in from the same page, I get this message: "The CSRF token could not be verified". I've tried changing my password but this didn't make any difference. 

Well, with the new codebase there are a lot of new bugs showing up.  I've relayed this to our forum topic.  In the meantime, just know that steps like changing your password almost never help the issue at all.

Hello I'm having a bit problem for the description for creating a chapter and such. I put at least about 99 words up but theres a word limit that goes up to 255 an it won't accept the length of it. so i did shorten it down a bit but still said it was too long. so I got annoyed and said it was a fic. I hopefully you have an idea what's wrong with it or it might be a bug. TT_TT  Thanks. 

It's actually a character limit, not a word limit -- a.k.a. no more than a total of 255 individual letters, spaces, and/or punctuation.  (If the average word is 5 characters long, this effectively means 50 words or less.)

Hey Stratadrake. I have a question. I joined FAC originally back in.. idk about 2006 maybe? With my original account "Bombgirl" and I'm almost positive you had banned it for something.. I don't remember why. But I had all of my drawings on that account that I don't have physically anymore. I was wondering if there was any way you could un-ban the account just so I can get my pictures off of it. It would mean a lot to me if you could. Or somehow get them yourself off of the account and E-mail them to me? I'm not too sure what exactly you can do but it would mean a lot to me if you could try to do something.

If that username (Bombgirl) is correct the account is marked as deleted (not banned) and there are no lingering picture IDs (much less actual submitted pictures) still associated with it.  Can't help you at all, sorry.

Remember, you are the one ultimately responsible for securing/retaining backup copies of any material you submit to websites.  If stuff happens ... then stuff happens.

Comments can be enabled/disabled on a per-picture basis (though the page should tell you when this is the case).  Do you have any specific page URLs I can check?

I do, but first can I ask if there's a new limit to comments? Or if there's too many comments on a picture, does it mess with the ability to post more comments?

No going back, sorry.  The new version is pretty much a complete rewrite of all the internals, which was badly needed.

We're aware that there's only one theme right now (the 2.0 Silver) and it's missing the blue (3.0 Zellers) theme - we may bring something like it back in a future update as a visual theme only.

Strata, why do Popular works have only 3 pictures displayed? (sometimes, it has two)

Currently it only picks from within the last two weeks (this keeps them rotating); if there just aren't many submissions to the site, there aren't many to choose from.

Does the Popular Works only accept submissions that have reached a certain number of favs/views? -Because I have approved much more than 5 pictures over the past 2 weeks, and not even those show up as the lowest popular work.

I don't remember the specific algorithm, but it does:
- sort by a rough combination of # faves and votes (which needs refinement)
- exclude Featured pics (they'll become popular anyway, by virtue of being Featured)
- limit 1 most-popular per user (avoids flooding by one popular user)
- reflect individual content filter levels
- limit last two weeks

...the last is really just a hack to prevent it from taking too long to generate the list.

An animated GIF, correct? Well, for starters please ensure that it does not exceed the maximum avatar size (64x64), because our avvie-resizing code has a tendency to remove animations.

"Reporting" means PM'ing a site staff member with exact URLs and/or usernames to be examined. Otherwise it's just rumor and hearsay.

One account per user is the rule. Creating "alt" or "backup" accounts is not recommended, for historical (mostly troll-related) reasons.

Well, if they're only "still up" and not actively being used then technically that's against rules, but it's not a priority like if they're actively using them to exploit the system (get around blocklists, etc.) .

umm I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but I have tried to add some artwork and the category box says error and then click to retry which I did a few time I even reloaded the page a couple of times but it won't let me add any fanwork due to the error in the category box, can you help?

That would be caused by a failure to initialize the category box. Try checking your browser's Javascript console and let me know if there are any warnings/errors that occur when loading the submissions page.

The "Internet Comics" category is monitored to make sure people don't try to use it for self-published (original) comics. As for the picture itself, Spy vs Spy actually isn't an Internet based comic (but we don't have a category for it yet), so as noted use the Other Comics heading instead.

If you're going to report an error message, always, always copy/paste the actual message text; simply saying "I got an error" isn't enough.

Even with auto status, sometimes a picture will get sent to the AP queue. In this case, it's because of the image's very large height (questionnaire memes tend to be that way).

Since you have a computer, if you can snag a few blank sheets of paper from your printer then that will do fine. (Printer paper doesn't have the same texture as drawing paper, but you won't even notice a difference.)

Myself, I used to use the backs of whatever sheets the teacher handed out for the previous week's class, often folding/cutting/tearing the sheet in half so I could have "two" sheets to draw on.

It was not a stolen image, it was no "adult" material. a far as i know it didn't break any rules so why wasn't it accepted?

According to the other pages in your submissions log, #807687 was processed and rejected on the grounds of a large image size (1100x1600). This is a fairly common (and minor) thing; it's generally good practice to size your image so that it fits within a typical screen resolution at full view.

We have exact same image dimensions (almost proof enough in and by itself), and the dA original dates back to July 2007 (FAC submission, September 2008). Okay, looks clear cut to me.

It is a matter of principle, about whether or not the submission itself should be publically viewable (and commentable, fav-able, etc.) before site staff have had a chance to review it.

We have a thread on the forums for that. Featured works are picked by site staff occasionally when we review the thread.

That is a "stock" phpbb2 error message, and it does not clearly say why the login was refused. I'll take a look at it.

I know once a comment is left on a page, it's there forever, no matter if it's deleted. And only you can view it.

But is the same applied to deleted profiles? I mean, as in the pictures and stories still archived, but us not able to see it. Or is it simply gone forever? Even to you?

While the forums run on a version of phpBB2, the mainsite is pretty much hand-coded in PHP.

At present, forum access must be explicitly granted by admin.

If you recently changed your email address, all you should have to do is validate it.

It's probably because you registered a new account. Forum/PM access no longer comes automatically included with registration.

My mistake. Changing email would do it as well, because one of the earlier anti-troll measures was linking forum access with email validation.

Yes, it was a FAC submission, it's his most recent one, and the comments on my page are still there, I never deleted them if you wish to see for yourself. But, he did submit a picture and he did send the link to me and he said he thinks I could relate to it. He never asked for my opinion on the picture.

Let me see what I can find in our logs. First, let me get these out of the way....

1 - If your profile page blurb was changed then unless it was cached or stored somewhere else (like a search engine), the previous contents are strictly non-recoverable. We do not keep any "edit history" logs of profile pages.

2 - If someone else has gained login access to your account, changing your account password should be a priority. Even if they get a login cookie, changing your account password will break it.

At this time, all I can dig up is that between 7:30 and 8:30 today, there were seven comments posted from your username, from an IP address not otherwise associated with your account. All of them wrapped in bold/italic/color tags and definitely of trolling nature.

3 submissions for a contest I am holding have been holed up in the submissions que for five days. They haven't been rejected, deleted, or even undeleted, and I'm really confused. My contestants are waiting on me for them to come out.

Well I was wondering when it comes to putting up pics that we use as our avatars, why is it that GIF images that we use as avatars have to be a certain size in order for them to show the animation on the image such as movement, etc.?

Images larger than the size limit will be resized by force; if the file was an animated GIF, the resizing process destroys its animation layer.

Y'know, if your password really was changed then you would be unable to log in to your account and even tell me in the first place. Start from the beginning: What were you doing that made you think it was changed?

I made the site remember my password on Safari, so it's never really "logged me off". It's really confusing, I know... I do know that some loltroll hacked me though, cause he put something in my favorites that wasn't there before.

Actually, we do have a log that records changes in email/passwords, we just need a tool to review it....
