Haha, get some new friends!
Well, it's this British show about this old asylum that was turned into luxury apartments. This guy Jed can see ghosts, and every episode it's a different ghost haunting different people. Lemme find a show description:
The series focuses on an upscale apartment block called 'Bedlam Heights', renovated from the structure of an abandoned mental asylum, and the strange hauntings that occur there. New arrival Jed Harper (Theo James) possesses the ability to see the ghosts (which are generally not visible to others), and receives visions of their deaths. The hauntings are generally malevolent, and it is up to Jed to determine the spirits' motives and thwart their goals. His flatmates are his cousin, Kate (Charlotte Salt), who manages the complex; Ryan (Will Young) who is troubled by the recent violent death of his brother; and Molly (Ashley Madekwe), a childhood friend of Kate and Jed.

That's good stuff! I've been reading the Higurashi series, watching it's anime counterpart, and watching the Resident Evil movies for that. But some more classic zombie movies are next, I think.

I haven't decided which direction I'm going to go, so I don't have any set lines. Will a scenario do?
I'm thinking that Amy and Riker are marooned on a planet during a routinue survey. They're stuck there with no one else for a week. Amy starts to get nervous ( can't think of the technical name you gave her condition) and it's up to Riker to keep her calm, or at least distracted.
Yes, finish mine! XD
Quick question- do you think it's appropriate, in the middle of a serious story arc, to stop and do something light? I'm not saying comedic and unrelated to the story. Just something to break the tension for a while.
Quick question 2- How do you see Dax and Holmes finally hooking up? or do you not see it happening?

Agoraphobia. It's the fear of wide open spaces. That sounds really interesting!
I'm so sorry for being so neglectful!
No of course it makes sense. They do it all the time in real tv shows.
Hmm... maybe they both get infected with some libido-enhancing pollen, and are stuck in the shuttlepod together. Things happen, and once they're cured Dan feels really guilty about it. She's like "don't worry about it because I know that if you didn't have feelings for me you wouldn't have acted on your urges, pollen or not. And I feel the same way." Or something?

Thank you. I knew it was A-something. I kept getting similar words in my head, and I couldn't remember how you defined it exactly.
No worries.
Good. I'm just attempting it in Serving. Hopefully it'll work out nicely. I always feel weird breaking some perceived 'momentum' the story has. But at the same time, repetitious isn't good, either.
Sweet, I like that! I had toyed with the idea (for the co-op fic, anyway) that 'season 1' ends with the crew in some dire situation, and Dan blurts out his feelings, thinking they're all screwed anyway. Then he goes off to fight so the other have a shot at escaping, and Dax saves his skin. Maybe gives him a kiss, then slaps him and warns him not to 'ever do that again! You life if precious, Daniel. And not just to you..."
Or something like that.
How's your M16 fic coming?

I hope it at least matches the Data/Amy one. That really turned out nice and fun. It was fun to write.
I'm determined not to let Dan become Yuji and always be getting hurt and hovering near death. He'll probably be the Harry Kim equivalent though. If something bad is going to happen, it'll happen to Dan and O'Brien first XD
Ah, I see. That happens.

Well, it's not a bad look. Don't get me wrong- ponytail and a starfleet uniform does it fine- but this works, too.
(Wow. If I was smarter, I could've been on the Big Bang Theory after that comment).
lol, are you sure? You don't love that (snicker) sexy voice? And hey, he may only be 3 feet tall, but maybe he's well endowed or something? lmao, sorry, I know that's crude, but it was too funny to pass up.
Cool, enjoy!
Well, pardon me, but I've got to get going for tonight. I've got a nice early morning tomorrow. Ttyl, friend!

Terrier/? mix, the ? we think is greyhound. His name is buddy but we call him jack. The other is corgi/terrier mix and her name is edie, but we call him annie. Annie bites. She bit me when we first took her home two days ago. Nothing serious, but it does sting. But tonight she bit my mom on the face when she leaned down to kiss her. There's teeth marks on her cheek and a cut right by her nose, as well as a gash on her nostril. It looked pretty bad, but head injuries always look worse than they are. I'm so afraid that we'll have to take her back, and my mom is even more torn. She loves Annie, even though she bites. And after the biting, the dog seems really apologetic and sad. I'm afraid that if we take her back, they'll have to put her down, because this has happened at the last three homes she's been at, and she's been taken back for it. I don't know what to do.
Yeah, it's great! I really like it.
You think I got Dan okay? I didn't have him do something out of character?

They both sound adorable. I can see where you're torn, though. I had a similar problem with another dog of mine a few years ago. The best thing I could think up is give the dog as much time as possible to adjust. If it doesn't work, then it doesn't work, and there's not much else you can do. Unless you try obedience school. My heart goes out to you if you do have to give the dog up :(
The only thing that you could probably add is have Dan be armed, too. He wouldn't burst into a room where there's screaming unarmed unless he absolutely had to.
I've got a little bit more to share with you, and then a question. But first, the new bit:
En route to the wormhole, Dax kept Dan talking. His piloting was great, and she was even getting a good conversation out of the elusive ensign. It seemed like he just needed an excuse to talk to her.
Ever since that incident, when we put the Trill in Holmes to say it…I wonder just how much of what he said as ‘Dan D’Gar’ was ‘Dan’? It’s not like him to blatantly hit on a girl like that…but at the same time, at that point the had the Trill more or less in sync with him…
“Approaching the wormhole,” Holmes called out. “Slowing to ¼ impulse power.”
Dax tapped at her console. “Adjusting course trajectory.”
Holmes glanced at the sensors, noting when the craft was in position. “Full stop…now.”
Dan sat back in his chair, exhaling heavily. It was only now that Dax noticed the sweat on his brow. She had to stifle a laugh at his expense. Instead, she chose to pat him reassuringly on the shoulder.
“You did well, Daniel. You can do this.”
Holmes gave a tired nod and smile. “Thanks. I really couldn’t have done it without you. In fact, I’d like to-”
Whatever it was he would have liked to do was put on hold as their runabout was rocked.
“No damage to hull. Looks like it was a warning shot…” Holmes noted. “Recommend we raise shields.”
Dax absently nodded, engrossed in the scientific readings. Her brows knitted together as she glared at the equipment.
“A subspace fracture…there’s a strong gravitational pull. That’s what’s ‘attacking’ the wormhole.”
Holmes looked over the data, transmitting a subspace message to Deep Space Nine with the data they’d collected so far.
“So we should seal the fracture…”
“Eventually. We should scan it, first. If this is an attack with malice by someone across space and time, we need to know the origin to stop it from happening again.”
Checking the data one more time, Dax decided to use a magneton scan. It was the most thorough scan available to them.
“Speaking tactically, we should keep the station apprised of our results. In case whatever it is turns out to be hostile,” Holmes intoned. Dax agreed, and Holmes continuously streamed their data to Deep Space Nine.
A sharp series of chirps alerted Dax and Holmes to the fact that something was wrong.
“The gravitational pull is getting stronger. The scan must have disrupted whatever is causing this somehow! We’ve got to get out of here or we’ll be sucked in!”
Holmes immediately got into the pilot’s seat.
“Engaging impulse engines. Full impulse…now.”
Dax shook her head. “No effect. And we can’t go to warp this close the wormhole…”
“Bypassing security overrides…and we’re at 110 percent of maximum recommended output.”
Dax shook her head again. “We’re still being pulled in.”
“115...120...125 percent of maximum. Any more and we’ll rip ourselves apart.”
“Transmit an SOS to the station and launch a tracking buoy with a warning message, continuous broadcast, all frequencies. And then grab on to something. We’re going in!”
The anamoly was now visible, breaking the rules of space/time. It looked literally like a crack in the universe. A blank slit which shown against the star-strewn sky.
“Routing auxiliary and emergency power to life support, shields, deflector, and structural integrity. Inertial dampers still operating.”
Dan didn’t need to add ‘so far’.

Dax woke up first, a hand to her aching head. A mild groan escaped her lips as she sat up. Her head ached, and the sudden movement was too much. She assessed herself quickly, but found herself to be banged up superficially, but otherwise unharmed.
Getting up carefully, she moved toward the conn. Dan was still slumped forward in his seat, having piloted furiously until impact. Dax drew her breath in a gasp, seeing the right side of Dan’s face covered in plasma burns.
She immediately grabbed the first aid kit stashed in a starboard compartment, applying the dermal regenerator and then checking to see if there was any other damage. Save for some bruises, Dan was okay as well. She decided to let him wake up naturally, as long as it didn’t take too long.
The question of ‘where and when are we?’ hit Dax as she opened the shuttle hatch. She looked around quickly and assessed their situation.
The Dax symbiont had been alive for well over three hundred years, and this was still a shock.

Obedience school doesn't address biting, or we definitely would. I'm afraid if we give her back she'll be put to sleep... That would weigh on my mom's conscience for the rest of her life.
So, like, a baseball bat? Cause there's no way Amy would let him have a gun unless they were under fire.
I love it! I hope you're continuing that, cause now I'm really interested!
We're going to Louisiana tomorrow to see my brother. He's in New Orleans, but we're meeting him in Alexandria. I'm getting batteries for my camera and taking pictures! I've never been to Louisiana.

Boy, I don't know what to tell you. All you can do is give the dog a chance. I hope it all works out for you.
I think he'd have something maybe more concealable. Actually, a bat works. You could also play off the fact that running to Amy's aid with a bat is something a boyfriend would do (according to every sitcom over made, apparently)
Well, I've got a suggestion after that. I worked on a couple theories:
1. They wind up on 'old earth' (our present day), in a place like Las Vegas.
2. They wind up in a previous era. Say, Enterprise C. The Cardassians are affecting the wormhole from there. But Holmes, being a huge fan of Enterprise C's saga, will be tempted to intervene and save them.
3. The one I've chosen so far- They wind up back at DS9 while Voyager is docked. And thanks to something switiching in the time frame, Holmes is due to be on Voyager! But he can't go, and he can't warn them about what happens, lest he violate the temporal prime directive. I've got a couple scenes from this one I'll share in a minute.
I haven't either, but I've wanted to go to New Orleans for a long time! Have a good time!

I've got to go for the night. But before I do, here's a little more from the above scenario. I can't wait to read more of your newest work. I'm already fascinated. More please :)
The authoritive stare of Captain Kathryn Janeway could wilt just about anyone. And right now, her eyes were trained firmly on Dax and Holmes. Worst of all, they had no clue why they were getting the ‘evil eye’.
When Holmes didn’t say anything, Janeway spoke up. She drew herself up, her hands on her hips. She might have been short in reality, but damned if she didn’t grow when she wanted to!
“Mister Holmes, I believe you’ll agree with me that being on time is something that is drilled into you at the academy?”
Dan decided that, as he was already confused, letting that emotion take over would be easiest.
“Am I late for something, sir?”
Janeway’s eyebrow shot up, and Dan shrunk a few inches.
“I respect military standards, Ensign. But you will address me as ‘Captain‘. You’ve tried my patience enough by being late. It is bad form at any time, never mind your first duty shift. Now, you’re my tactical officer, at least temporarily. If you can’t do that duty, you’d better tell me now. Because if you think I’ll tolerate this on board my ship, you’re sorely mistaken.”
“It’s my fault he’s late, Captain.”
Dax had spoken up. She threw her arm around Dan, pulling him tight to her.
“I had him so wrapped up in our wedding plans that we lost all track of time.”
Both Janeway’s eyebrows went up. She instantly looked less menacing.
“Wedding? When were you going to inform me, Mr. Holmes?”
Dan had sputtered at the thought of marrying Dax, wishing that this was the future instead of the past, but recovered quickly.
“I was going to tell you today, Captain. We just settled on a date, and-”
“-we were keeping it kind of a secret.” Dax shrugged. “You know. It was like a game. See how long we could fool everyone. It was so much fun, sneaking around after curfew. Just like being at the academy again!”
Janeway smiled indulgently. “Well then, let me offer my congratulations. I’ll be happy to give you a leave of absence, Mr. Holmes. Voyager is only on a short hop anyway. We can pick you up in two weeks at the earliest, though I daresay you’ll want time for a honeymoon. Have you picked a place?”
“Where else? Risa.”
“That’s certainly a good choice. Beautiful place, and a lot of fun to be had.”
Surveying both Dan and Dax, Janeway gave broad grin.
“Mr. Kim will miss you, Ensign, but I daresay he’ll understand.”
--
Sisko looked so different with hair. More gentle or something. Although right now he seemed a bit imposing, as there was a clear question in his voice.
“Dax, who is your friend here? I’m not familiar with him.”
Of course! This was before Daniel came to the station!
Dax thought quickly, working off of her lie earlier.
“You don’t remember, Benjamin? But you promised you’d take care of the ceremony!”
Sisko cocked his head. “Ceremony? What are you talking about, old man?”
Dax rolled her eyes, as though Sisko had missed something obvious. “The marriage ceremony, Benjamin! Ensign Holmes and I are getting married next week! You promised you’d perform the ceremony! I’m sure I submitted the request to you six months ago…”
“I don’t recall…” Sisko murmured, stroking his chin where Holmes was sure a goatee should have been. He was sure that Sisko was going to call the bluff, but breathed a sigh of relief when Sisko gave a big smile to them both.
“Well, if I said I would, I will. Congratulations to you both.”
“Thank you, sir,” Holmes put in, feeling it was bad form to remain silent. “Marrying Dax is just about the only thing in the world that could take me away from Voyager.”
Sisko frowned. “Marrying ‘Dax’? I must say, I have to question the wisdom in getting married if you aren’t on a first name basis…”
This time, Dan spoke up before Dax. “Sorry, sir. She just got off duty. I’m so used to referring to her as though we’re on duty that I slip up sometimes. One of the hazards of being a ‘Starfleet couple’, I guess.”
Dan flashed a charming grin at the end, not sure he could pull it off. But Sisko smiled and muttered some words of agreement before parting.

Btw, I wrote out a scene from my MI6 story, I thought you might like to read it. Btw, I wasn't planning on having Dan and Amy have any sort of 'relationship' beyond friends, and sometimes a cover, you know. Just warning you ahead of time, because of the ending in this scene.
This was an idea I had earlier today. Amy witnesses a close friend’s death, and Dan has to deal with the aftermath.
Blood continued to pool between her fingers even as she continued to give him compressions.
“Don’t you die on me, not after all we’ve been through, don’t you dare,” she growled at the man’s limp form before pinching his nose and pressing her lips to his firmly, breathing life into his lungs twice, then returning to her compressions.
“No, Owen,” she choked out, a tremble working its way down her hands as the limp man beneath her remained lifeless. “Don’t do this to me.” Her hands continued their work relentlessly, even as tears silently began to well in her eyes, refusing to spill over.
Silently, Dan came up behind her and put his hand on her shoulder.
“Amy…” he whispered, his voice hoarse with empathy. “He’s gone.”
“No,” she simply said. “No.” He grabbed her other shoulder and pulled her to her feet, tightening his grip as she struggled.
“He’s gone, Amy. It’s too late,” Dan whispered into her ear, wrapping his arms around her as she sagged in defeat, her shoulders heaving with unshed tears.
The scene faded out and then back in, but instead of an alley, Amy’s room came into focus. So did Owen, in all his post-mortem glory. His hollowed eyes bored into hers, his lifeless, seemingly unseeing eyes rooting her to the spot. She first swallowed her revulsion at the acrid stench rolling off him in waves and the obvious bits of decay here and there on his body, then her fear at having a cadaver in her room. Her guilt, however, rose to the surface abruptly.
“O-Owen, I-“ She stumbled out, but he cut her off with a voice as dead as the rest of him, and sharp as a knife.
“Save it, Amelia. We both know that bullet was meant for you. I took one for you back in ’02, wasn’t that enough for you? I had to die, too?” His tone was acidic and spiteful, and Amy flinched as though the words were physical blows.
“It wasn’t my fault, there was no way for me to know-“ she tried to defend herself, but he cut her off again.
“Bullshoot. You knew, you knew it in your gut. But you didn’t listen. And now, you’re going to join me.”
He advanced forward in two heavy strides and before she could move, his mottled hand was around her neck, pinching off her air supply.
“AMY!” A shout rang through the room, and in a flurry of motion and sound, Dan found himself pinned face-down to the bed his friend had previously been occupying with something cold pressed to his temple and ragged, shallow breathing on his neck- the cold something he suspected was a P99 handgun. The name or brand made no difference; in the end, he’d be just as dead. “Amy,” he tried again in a low, forcibly calm voice, “it’s me. It’s Dan.” He felt the breathing against his neck hitch momentarily, and then the weight left his back, along with the gun at his temple.
“What the hell are you doing in here, Daniel?” Amy asked hoarsely, standing a foot or so away from the man she nearly killed. He slowly sat up on the bed and straightened his clothes. He was wearing his usual sleepwear, a lightweight white cotton shirt and dark grey, loosely-fitting yoga pants. He cleared his throat and ran a shaking hand through his hair, adrenaline still coursing through him.
“You were screaming, so naturally, I came in to help,” came the shaky reply.
“I nearly blew you away, Daniel,” she stated almost angrily, smothering her guilt with her rage.
“I didn’t know you slept with a handgun under your pillow, or I would have knocked louder,” he said quietly. His defeated tone had her guilt rising to the surface again. She quietly clicked the safety back into place on her gun, setting it aside on the nightstand next to the bed before sitting right next to Dan, leaving almost no personal space between them. She took his hand and squeezed it gently, causing him to raise his head and look at her.
“Thank you for trying, Daniel. I’m sorry I almost killed you. This has been…” She sighed heavily,” …a rough few days. Thank you,” she said again with another hand-squeeze. He responded with a slight smile, then a flicker of hesitation before wrapping his arms around her in a wordless hug. Surprised at first, Amy froze, but soon relaxed into the embrace upon realizing his intention, sinking into his arms and tucking her face into his neck. Dan knew better than anyone that a person could only handle so much, especially someone with as high a daily stress intake as Amy. Sometimes, a little human contact goes a long way. Even for a super-spy.

lol, I don't doubt. No matter how tempted, I'm so miserable after work I can't imagine anyone would want to be around me.
You do what you have to, right?
Would you like a little preview of one of the episodes I worked on for our co-op fic? I shared most of it with you before, but I've since added more.
Oh, and I decided I'm going to have Holmes be tight with Kira and Garak- and also Gul Dukat, later on.

Well, she comes to DS9. She and Julian kind of hit it off, but nothing major happens. Then the Borg incident. Then later down the line, the planet-stranded thing with O'Brien happens. Then relationship-deepening with Julian. Then her brother shows up and Bashir thinks it's her baby-daddy. And somewhere near the end, she finally gets assigned to Enterprise. I guess very close to the end, she decides that DS9 is more the place for her than Enterprise.
How's that?
How's that?

Very nice. This is what I've got for Holmes:
-Takes on a Trill Symbiont (he's a temporary host)
-becomes Starfleet Security Liaison
-Becomes a Bajoran citizen aboard DS9 during the dominion war
-Leaves DS9 briefly to become a first officer on an Intrepid class ship; returns within two months in defense of the station.
Have you seen this yet?

You've got to have a youtube account to view it. My God, I was so sick and furious after this!

There's some other stuff, of course. Him and Dax, and how that works out. Stuff I haven't decided yet.
So, let's think of the next couple episodes. For Dan's part (The episodes where I start, anyway, so over the next four), I'd like to hit the one where he becomes a Trill host next, and then maybe that holosuite one where we have Admiral Sulu showing up. I'd be more insistent on the Trill thing showing up soon than anything.
Anything in mind for Amy in the short term?

He comes in and she's subtly rude to him, and brushes him off whenever she can. She has a thing against red-shirts.
And then later she's having nightmares from her agoraphobia (being on a space-station next to a worm-hole doesn't help), and Dan spots her and offers to teach her to meditate. She slowly gets to know him, and through that reforms her opinion about him and apologizes.

Ah, that's right, that's right. She should hate him for a little while first, though, right? Or do you want to leap right into that in our third episode? It could work either way.
How about if Quark tries to gain Holmes favor by making Dax into an Orion slave girl on the holosuite. Dan says no, but Dax sees the program and gets mad at Dan? Cliched, but an effecitve B story.

Let's see...she's going to meet him in the next episode, while Bashir is treating Sisko and O'Brien. So Holmes would likely chalk her cold shoulder up to stress. The next epsisode he'd definitely take offense, but probably not say anything unless majorly provoked.
I say give them this episode, plus one more, and then on the one after that have them start to get close. I'd like to push for the Trill thing next, and they probably won't be together that much. And even then, given the surgery, she won't be hating him too muc, since he'll be in major pain. I think, anyway.
lol, I thought that might be worthwhile ^^
Amy and Quark will be fun!
I say give them this episode, plus one more, and then on the one after that have them start to get close. I'd like to push for the Trill thing next, and they probably won't be together that much. And even then, given the surgery, she won't be hating him too muc, since he'll be in major pain. I think, anyway.
