you don't need a router (as long as you have internet, you should be fine ^_^)

when you're setting up your internet on the Wii there's an option to search for the nearest access point (which should be a nearby comp. If it asks for an access code its your 10 digit phone #.) (you also need to put in the 1 thats in front of the area code)
