If somebody asks you what media or medium you used they are asking what materiels you uesed, for example oil pastel, watercolour, coloured pencils ext.....In your case you have used paints but can't remember what sort, I think it might have been poster, powder, or acrylics..:) Sorry if I confused you ;)
