Hi! Chris; glad you appreciate my work… I wish you wouldn’t be so hard on yourself, because I’ve seen your artwork and I know for a fact that you have talent!!! Your peer’s love you work as well… But I sense an eagerness to elevate your potential right away! If I may say, at your current age you are already skilled way beyond others, so just draw without fear… By that I mean, don’t be afraid to take your talent and imagination to the next level, try to layout fast sketches of character shapes, hands, heads facial expressions and save those ideas for future use… All artists have such files of ideas save up for future reference… put yourself on a timer and see how many quick layouts you can design within a certain period of time… I guarantee you’ll surprise yourself!

There is no doubt about it! You have a god given talent, but even though comics are a good field of work to get into, I challenge you to expand beyond that, because you’ll be a better artist for it, in the long run… Do a lot of subject research (of photos not drawings), familiarize yourself with the physical anatomy… Keep a portfolio of penciled, inked and colored work (nothing half done)…Challenge yourself to draw subjects from various points of view and angles, such as birds eye view, overhead shots, 3/4 positions and so on… Try other medias as well, you may be asked to paint a superhero, study fine art paintings… Learn to do still life artwork, such as buildings, props and scenery… Dare to be different, don’t let the critics discourage you, (not everybody will appreciated your efforts) if your work is good the people that matter will take notice! Most artists never get the respect they deserve, because they are always putting themselves on the line… But remember the more diverse your experience the better equipped you are at tackling various projects… Best of Luck!!!
