What influenced me? Tough question, I read a lot of manga and I try to learn something from everything I read, but I'd say YuYu Hakusho and Shaman King have probably had the most influence on my drawing.

Ohh, you got that right. Summer vacation is suppos'd to be fun, 'cause people usually get to travel, you know? I'm stuck at home. -_-
I use calligraphy pens + india ink, and color my pictures in with markers. Pastels are waaay too messy, like you said. ^__^

Some have references, some don't. I tend to use references untill I can draw the characetr without, so all my Bleach pictures for example have references cos I'm new to drawing them ^^
