Well, wait - what if it was a Smoker? Not only would it be sort of symbolic, but it would be less obvious - people would think she'd be FINE.

Why?

Because a Smoker can't break the uniform.

HOWEVER, Smokers, just as their name implies, give off a green smoke. Even WITH the gas mask on, I'm sure some of it could be inhaled if she's in a close enough proximity to the Smoker. The masks can't be THAT good - no mask IS, it just lessens the damage of any poisonous gases.

An infected bites her somewhere? ^^;
