I usually use Photobucket, but this is how I do it without Photobucket: Let's use this picture for practice:
First, right-click on the image. Then go down on the pop-up menu to "Properties." Copy what it says next to "Adress" and go to the "Edit Profile" page See those buttons at the top of the box where you type in your profile? Click on the third one the the right. You may have to turn off your pop-up blocker if you have one. Then paste the image address into the box, and voila!
