Yes unfortunately FAC lacks a few key aspects that are dire to success on the net. One being that it isn't funded as well as DA is, and Two being that FAC is too specific in its content. FAC has sister websites for content, where as DA just has one huge mess... ahaha. I personally like the sister-sites setup, but it just isn't as effective.
You will run into those people anywhere, I think. I've met a few of them personally, and they are much worse in person believe me haha.
As for the book, it would be a very good read I think, but I'm too lazy or too busy to write such a thing now. (I also like to think I'm too young... lol!)
