Sam: Sorry... oh wow, I was just thinking - I am missing a shooton of work... like, holy crap, I'm gonna have to stop sleeping when I get back if I want to get anything done. D:

Sarah: I think that's just as unhealthy as random blackouts. D;

Sam: Yeah, but I need to - it's kinda a really bad thing to be behind with work when I'm in charge of the entire city. D:>

Sarah: I'm sure there are other people trying to handle it right now... :/

Sam: I don't feel comfortable with that idea... D;

Sarah: Well... you're just going to have to wait, then... <:/

Sam: And I don't feel comfortable with THAT idea, either... ugh, goddamn SMILES and his goddamn MOOKS! *through his teeth, a darkness in his expression* You have no idea what kind of stuff I've done to those crackheads working for that bastard, but I swear to god, what I want to do to HIM right now is a thousand times worse... D8<

Sarah: *watches him, a slight fear in her eyes--she didn't know how STRONGLY he felt about this... She doesn't say a word*

Sam: *he looks over at her, noticing her apprehension. He tries calming down* ... Sorry. I just... uh... I spent a good amount of blood, sweat, and tears hunting the guy down, and... and the fact that he can still cause trouble, even behind bars... well... it's kinda like he gave me the finger.

Sarah: That's understandable, but... You could um, be a bit more uh... discreet about it. >_>;

Sam: I have trouble dealing with my emotions. I'm kinda a sensitive guy, but you already knew that.

Sarah: Well, yeah... I've always known that. And I've always tried to be there for you until recently, and I'm sorry for that... And I'm sorry this's been THIS hard on you. I had no idea... <:/

Sam: Hey, it's okay - you're busy with YOUR job in the movie business, and now your gotta deal with your dad getting... anyway, it's a lot to deal with, and I completely understand.

Sarah: Well, YEAH, but you've got it harder than I do... E-even with Dad gone... <:/

Sam: Well, I'll admit to having a hard time, but I don't think it's as hard a time as you're having as of late. And I'm sorry. Now then... I think... I think we should go to bed or whatever, y'know?

Sarah: ... *nods, and stands up, helping Sam up* Ready?

Sam: Uh-huh. Let's move quickly before I faint again.

Sarah: *nods* Right. *helps him back into her room, taking him all the way back to the bed*

Sam: *with Sarah's help, he climbs into bed* Thank you... I'll see you in the morning, Sarah. *he smiles at her softly*

Sarah: *nods, smiling back* G'night, Sam... holler if you need anything, okay? *flips the light off, and goes back out to the couch, laying down there, slightly wishing she had stayed with Sam*

Sam: No. Okay, maybe a little. :P *Pride or no pride, Sam was practically starving*

Sarah: Like I said, no one else'll know. :P *continues to feed him*

Sam: *with Sarah's help, he eats his salad* Well, thanks for that. :)

Sarah: Anytime. *picks up her own bowl* Until you can move your arms. :P *eats*

Sam: And when that happens, no more embarrassment for me. Yay.

Sarah: *sticks her tongue out at him, and continues eating*

Sam: Ah....! *has felt a sudden wave of dizziness, and his vision blurred* Sarah, I think I'm gonna passssnnhh... *he passes out, head dropping*

Sarah: !? *puts her bowl down* Sam? *shakes him lightly* Sam?? D:>

Sam: *completely passed out, still unable to escape from his random energy loss*

Sarah: Mnhh... *Watches him, worried. she puts an arm around him and rests her head on his shoulders, waiting for him to wake up again*

Sam: *later, he awakens* ... What happened?

Sarah: *withdraws her arm and pulls away* You blacked out all of a sudden... I was worried....

Sam: *notices her pulling away* ...Oh... yeah, that happens sometimes...

Sarah: You think you'll be okay now? <:/

Sam: *shrugs slightly - as much as he can, anyway* Sure, until next time that happens... don't worry about it, Sarah.

Sarah: I'll try not to... spontaneous fainting is definitely concerning. D:

Sam: Well I did try to warn you this time... ^^;

Sarah: Doesn't make it any less worrying. D:

Sam: I can try... but I could fail, and I don't think you'd want a mess on your couch.

Sarah: *laughs a little bit* Okay, fine. :P *puts her bowl down, and holds up a forkful of salad* :P

Sam: ... Not that I enjoy this, either... how very pathetic of me. XC *he takes a bite with Sarah's help*

Sarah: Well, it's not like you can do it on your own. Better this than starving, right? :P

Sam: ... Well, I'm sure it'll be nice. I wonder what your real parents were like... do you ever wonder that?

Sarah: Less often now, but yeah... It kind of sucks to think that your parents either didn't want you or couldn't have you... but I don't really mind it as much anymore. I'm just glad Mom and Dad took me in...

Sam: ... And you lived a good life with them until you went off to college and pursued your career in the acting business. Are you comfortable living by yourself?

Sarah: *nods* I make enough to get by... I think I'm fine where I am.

Sam: ... Do you get lonely?

Sarah: ...Sometimes...

Sam: *he looks at her for the longest time* ... I, uh... I also get pretty lonely. I mean, my life's been nothing but work - it's all I've lived for ever since I took over for my mom and dad. I've had no time for people. I'm constantly trying to fix what my dad broke when he started losing it... people think they can get away with shoot when one of the Lieutenants isn't thinking straight, and the crime rate skyrocketed, and I - I just wish he could see what I'm doing, UNDERSTAND and be PROUD of me, but I guess it's too late for that...

Sarah: *now knows that he has it worse than SHE does--she figured as much, but with all that that he just said it only confirmed it. She puts a hand on his arm* Sam... He'd be proud of you if he knew... Your mom's proud of you, I'M proud of you. I've seen what you've been doing, I've SEEN the dangerous things you do for us, and though they don't say it... everyone appreciates it...

Sam: *he smiles at her gratefully, finding her words reassuring and feeling much better about it* ... Thank you, Sarah...

Sarah: *smiles back* C'mere.. *leans forward and hugs him tightly* We'll be lonely together, okay? AT least for a little while.

Sam: *shakily puts an arm around her again in order to hug her back* Yeah... lonely together...

Sarah: *lets go of him, smiling sadly* We'll figure this out, okay? *looks at the clock* I think it's time for lunch. *gets up from the couch and goes into the kitchen*

Sam: *he watches her leave, unable to get up on his own. Lonely together, huh? No, that didn't work. Not for him*

Sarah: *figures that since Sam can talk, he can chew, so she decides to make something a bit more solid for lunch* Does a salad sound good to you, Sam?

Sam: Uh, yeah, sure... I'm fine with that. *he stares blankly at the wall, thinking*

Sarah: *starts chopping and mixing stuff up, letting her mind wander. She... kind of WAS lonely there, huh?* ...

Sam: *he curses himself for never being forward enough before - he just feared her rejection, her mockery, or disgust. He feared that it would ruin their friendship, and drive him further into loneliness*

Sarah: *finishes the food* Um... Sam, you want ranch, blue cheese...? Something...?

Sam: Hm? Oh... uh... any kinda of dressing is fine with me - I'm not very picky.

Sarah: Okayyy. *puts the salad into bowls and pours blue cheese all over it, then brings them back to the couch* Can you eat it yourself?

Sam: *he leans against Sarah, though not just for support - in fact, it was MOSTLY just to get close to her*

Sarah: *notices this, but assumes he was only doing so because he had to. She sits him down on the couch, then sits next to him, turning the tv on* Anything specific you wanna watch?

Sam: Nah, I'm fine with whatever. :P

Sarah: *flips through the channels, but finds nothing interesting--so she just sets it to jeopardy* ...better than staring at a wall... XP

Sam: Hey, MUCH better. :P *watches Jeopardy with Sarah*

Sarah: *ends up scooting closer to Sam for warmth. She figures he wouldn't mind*

Sam: *he most definitely does NOT mind, and in fact, ends up smiling for the entire hour of Jeopardy*

Sarah: That was... not as excruciatingly boring as i thought it would be. *looks at the clock* mhh... still too early for lunch...

Sam: So... uh... do you wanna talk, then? For as long as I can?

Sarah: Sure, why not? ^^ ...about what? ^^;

Sam: Uh... well, I don't know. How are you feeling about your dad? :/

Sarah: *her smile drops, and she looks away from him* ...still miss him... but, I um... guess he's in a better place now, y'know? Doesn't have to deal with any of those assholes out there...

Sam: Well, that's positive thinking... I think. <:/

Sarah: Well, it's not like I can bring him back, right? I can't just wait and hope he... *sighs* I just hate to admit that he's gone..

Sam: No, I get it... you miss him, and it's hard. But hey, if there is a heaven, I'm sure he's watching you right now, and doesn't want you to be grieving for him like this. <:/

Sarah: *laughs a bit at this* W-Well, he's gonna hafta suckitup and deal with it... *sniffles a bit, eyes starting to water* ...

Sam: Sarah... hey... D:> *he shakily manages to raise his arm and put his hand on her shoulder, rubbing it with his thumb*

Sarah: Sorry... *wipes the tears away with the back of her hand* Hey, you moved your arm... heheh...

Sam: ... Yeah... I did... <:/ when do you think his funeral will be? <:(

Sarah: ...last I knew, Mom was planning that... It'll be soon, she said.... not sure exactly when...

Sam: *he takes two more steps before falling* D8 !!

Sarah: !! *tries to catch him, but loses her balance and is knocked down with him, ending up on the ground with Sam on top of her* ...oww.

Sam: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to fall! D8>

Sarah: I KNOW, people don't fall on purpose... *stares at him for a moment, then pushes him up slightly so she can crawl out from underneath him* Hff...

Sam: *he remains on the floor, unable to pick himself back up*

Sarah: *stands* Whoo-kay. *bends back down and tries to help him stand back up* Ohmygodwhyareyousotall? D;

Sam: I blame my dad. I hope I don't go senile like him, but knowing how much I've inherited from him, I'll probably end up crazy and forgetful as well. D:

Sarah: Well, we've got some time before that happens-- *manages to get him back up on his feet, keeping an arm around him to hold him up* So, you wanna try one more time, or do you want to take a break?

Sam: Nhh... I think I should take a break... my legs are hurting. And my jaw - I should stop talking. D;

Sarah: *laughs a little bit, then half-drags him to the bed, sitting him back down on it* We'll give it another shot when you're less sore. :P

Sam: *smiles gratefully at her, but says nothing*

Sarah: *props him back up against the headboard, and sits beside him, sighing* Sooo... now we just hang out, huh?

Sam: *he nods, smiling at her. Hanging out was perfectly fine to him*

Sarah: *smiles* Heheh... *gets under the covers, sitting next to him* Doo do-doo... Sooooo.... heh, totally have no clue what to do.

Sam: Uh... I don't know either...

Sarah: *leans her head back against the headboard* Hm... wanna see if I can move you out to the other room? we can watch TV or something.

Sam: Well, okay... I hope there's actually anything good on.

Sarah: It's better than staring at the ceiling. :P *gets back out of bed, and helps Sam up* Don't fall over on me again. :P

Sam: I can't promise you that. :P

Sarah: Well, do your best, okay? :P *starts walking him out of the room*

Sam: Been... meaning to ask you... do I look like shoot...? Cuz I feel like shoot...

Sarah: Truthfully, you looked as high as a kite yesterday. You look better today, though. ^^;

Sam: Ah, well, glad to know I look better than high, at least. :P

Sarah: Heh... I don't think it'll take you much longer to get back to normal. :)

Sam: Oh yeah? That's rather positive of you. :P

Sarah: Since when have I been a pessimist? :P

Sam: Since never. :P I was hoping to try walking, by the way.

Sarah: I can help you with that. You wanna try it now?

Sam: Ah... sure. *he tries scooting himself off the bed, getting to the edge before hissing in pain from his aching back, arms and legs*

Sarah: Whuh-oh. *gets off the bed, and goes around to Sam's side, ready to catch him if she needs to* Take it slow, now. D:

Sam: Nhhgh... getting dizzy again... if I pass out and fall off the bed, please catch me.

Sarah: That's what I'm here for. D: Take your time...

Sam: When I see Mister Smiles again, I'm gonna shove my fist down his fat throat... *he manages to take a shaky step out of the bed, then collapses on the floor* 'Kay... s'little too ambitious..

Sarah: !! *catches him before he hits the floor too hard, and helps him back up* Well, it's a start... Wanna try again, or...?

Sam: M-may as well go all the way with this... I'm gonna try again... *he tries standing up on his own*

Sarah: *stays right by him, ready to catch him again* Go ahead...

Sam: *slowly, carefully, he stands up on his own, then takes a small step forward, then another* Did I crash yet? D:

Sarah: Nope, you're doing pretty good. :D Let's see how far you can go.

Sam: *as soon as he's sure she was in the bathroom, he opens his eyes. He wouldn't hurt Sarah. He wouldn't leave her, or make her feel bad in any way - he'd care for her, and love her, and make her feel special, like she SHOULD feel*

Sarah: *showers, gets dressed and comes out. She looks at Sam, noticing he was awake--her mood had darkened significantly* 'Morning... can you move anything besides your hands? <:/

Sam: *he wasn't exactly sure - he tries, and manages to move his legs somewhat* ...Nhhgh...

Sarah: Yay, progress... I'll go make some breakfast. Oatmeal okay with you?

Sam: *he manages to nod, smiling slightly*

Sarah: *smiles a little bit* Okay. *goes outside, and looks out the window--the snowfall had stopped, but everything was covered in white. She sighs, and goes to work on breakfast*

Sam: *he tries speaking to himself, but his words still came out as a jumbled mess. Come ON! Why couldn't speech be the FIRST thing to come back?*

Sarah: *takes a little while to make the food, as her mind seemed to be on other things--namely her failed relationships. She takes two bowls of the oatmeal and goes into the room, setting them down just like the night before, and sitting Sam up*

Sam: *mumbles out something that sounds like a "thank you". He looks at Sarah, watching her*

Sarah: ? *looks at him* ...you're welcome? *smiles a little, and takes a spoonful of the oatmeal and holds it up to his mouth* Open wide~

Sam: *he sighs, then opens his mouth - it wasn't any less embarrassing since yesterday*

Sarah: *puts the spoon in his mouth* Hey, you can't eat it yourself, and I'm not about to let you starve, kay?

Sam: *he looks at her* ... mnn... *he'll win her over - he has to TRY*

Sarah: *continues to feed him, not minding it, just like the day before*

Sam: *he eats the rest of the oatmeal, now feeling somewhat full*

Sarah: *after she's done with Sam, she eats her own food*

Sam: *like yesterday, he watches her eat, smiling slightly*

Sarah: *glances at him while she eats, noticing his smile. She smiles back, and finishes up her food. taking the bowls out to the kitchen, she leaves them there and comes right back into the room, sitting down on the bed next to Sam*

Sam: *still smiling when she comes back, he tries again, and finally manages to talk* H... hello... again...

Sarah: *jumps when he talks, not expecting him to do so* AH! He speaks! :D Hello again to you too~ :P

Sam: *with Sarah's help, he drinks his soup. He was glad that she didn't say anything about the situation, as it would have made the whole thing much worse for him*

Sarah: *after she finishes his bowl, she sets it down and picks up her own, trying it to see if it was warm enough to eat. she shrugs, and eats her own food, still sitting by Sam*

Sam: *he watches her eat for the longest time before that dizziness came over him again, and he blacked out*

Sarah: *looks back at Sam after she finishes eating, and smiles a little. At least he was resting. She takes the two empty bowls and goes to the kitchen, cleaning them out along with the bowl from breakfast. Maybe taking care of Sam wasn't such a bad thing. they had drifted apart recently, now was the time to fix that. Having nothing else to do, and seeing that the clock already read 7pm, AND noticing that the snowstorm seemed to have become a blizzard, she goes back to her room, laying Sam back down, and getting under the covers next to him, as the apartment was still rather cold. She stares out the window, trying to pass the time watching snowflakes fall* ...

Sam: *much later, he drowsily wakes back up - he was surprised that he had blacked out again - it seemed that when that happens, he is completely unaware of it*

Sarah: *has already fallen asleep, instinctively moving closer to Sam, the only source of warmth in the room, and putting an arm over him*

Sam: *he smiles very slightly from this, closing his eyes again. He sleeps like that until the next morning*

Sarah: *wakes up like that the next morning. She realizes how close she is to Sam, but she... doesn't mind. she was quite comfortable there. Warm and comfortable and happy, oddly enough. She glances up at his face--oh good, he was asleep. This would be incredibly awkward if he was awake*

Sam: *he was waking up, but he dares not open his eyes - he felt how close Sarah was to him - he KNEW it would ruin the moment if she saw him wake up*

Sarah: ... *sighs, and speaks quietly* I keep remembering that one night... *laughs a little bit* Some night, huh? I need to stop keeping alcohol in my fridge... stuff happens...

Sam: *he listens to her, now making sure he didn't seem awake at all - he didn't want to ruin it*

Sarah: ..mnn... can't remember if i told you this, but... you really DID help... I mean, it sounds bad, but you did... you made me forget everything, if only for a little while...

Sam: *has to try very hard to keep himself from smiling, but he's happy to hear her admit it*

Sarah: *puts her arm over Sam, and takes a deep breath* Tch... I'd never be able to do this if you were awake... don't think I'd be able to pluck up the courage, y'know? Never had much luck with guys...

Sam: *so that was her problem? She felt discouraged? But how could she not have any luck with men - she was a great, caring person with a fantastic sense of humor, and crazy good looks. Were other men really that blind?*

Sarah: ..s'just... relationships never last very long... Meet a nice guy, start dating, get close... then something'd happen, like, oh, he had to move, or oh, he's cheating with some other chick or HEY, he's cheating on some other chick with YOU cuz he never told you he was already in a relationship, but screw that cuz he doesn't-- *had been gatting louder as she talked, and she had only just caught herself. she looks up at Sam, sighing in relief when she sees he's still asleep* ...cuz he just doesn't care...

Sam: *He understands. She was afraid of, what, commitment? He had to somehow convince her that it was okay, though - that if he got together with her, nothing would happen...*

Sarah: ...Guess that's just my little curse... *sighs sadly, then sits up, pulling away from Sam. She gets out of bed and goes to shower*

Sam: *That seems to be the perfect opportunity to say something clever about "moving parts", but, alas for him, and thankfully for Sarah, he still can't speak. Instead, he shakes his head slightly*

Sarah: Ah... oh well... maybe tomorrow... *sighs* Guess you can hear me now, huh? Umm... did you uh... hear anything i said before?

Sam: *he shakes his head slightly. He didn't want to lie to Sarah, but she may reveal more if he kept his mouth shut*

Sarah: *sighs in relief* Oh okay... good... *grins sheepishly* Don't ask.

Sam: Nghh... *And now he knew something that Sarah didn't want him to know. He felt almost... unclean*

Sarah: Hm... something to eat sounds good right about now... *to Sam* Do you think you can eat, or not yet?

Sam: *he moans a little, not knowing how to say "yes". He didn't feel as sick anymore*

Sarah: Umm... I don't know how to interpret that. Blink once for yes? D;

Sam: *easy enough. He blinks*

Sarah: Oh, okay. I'll go make something. Hopefully the power doesn't go out... *gets out of bed and leaves the room*

Sam: *he watches her leave and waits for her, now feeling very hungry*

Sarah: *decides to make soup--it was cold enough for it, and it was probably the easiest thing for Sam to eat at this point... after she finishes, she pours two bowls and takes them back to the room, setting them down on the nightstand and sitting on the edge of the bed* Okay, I'm gonna sit you up so you can eat--make noise if you start feeling sick, I kinda don't wanna get puked on. D; *starts sitting him up*

Sam: *manages to make a noise that sounds like "okay". He was grateful for all Sarah was doing for him*

Sarah: *sits him up, propping him up against the headboard. She takes a spoonful from one of the bowls, blows on it, then holds it up to Sam* Open up... :P

Sam: *he glances at her, then opens his mouth. Well, this went down the valley of pathetic pretty quickly*

Sarah: *puts the spoon in his mouth and waits for him to close it before puling it back out. She can tell he's embarrassed due to his hesitation, and laughs a little mentally* Don't worry, no one else'll know. :P

Sam: *No - SARAH knows, and that's why he was so embarrassed about it. Well, at least he was eating something. The hot soup felt good running down his throat*

Sarah: *takes another spoonful and offers it to him. Oddly enough, she doesn't really feel like embarrassing him or commenting on the situation at all. She's just happy to help*
