I attempted to draw something that was not yaoi for once. No wonder I feel a little empty inside. I drew this picture on a 2.5' x 1.3' mat board with watercolor, colored pencils, permanent marker, white-out, and orange/blue highlighter in my friend Stephanie's dorm room. I gave her a lot of mat board, and I had to get rid of it somehow.

This was the first time using watercolor on mat board. My friend Rori was like, "Instead of painting it one small stroke at a time, just get a big batch of it, and put it on there." I was like, "You are right!" so I mixed a whole bunch of watercolors together into a big bowl of water and splashed it all over the matboard. She screamed, "NOT LIKE THAT!" and I was like, "Shut up woman; I know what I'm doing!" -And SURE ENOUGH. I didn't. Haha. Watercolor noob!

Edited in Photoshop! Why is part of her hair purple?! GAHHHH! Now to do some unethical Medical Terminology! Everyone get your Mothers Day contest entries in! *shakes fist*

She's stunning.
My favorite part os this picture is the shimmering eye shadow across her face.
That and her flower hair pin,( which in the very center of it looks like a meowing cat but I could be mistaken).

Wonderful colors. So nice and warm and the clip in her hair is my favorite. It almost seems as if her hair is glowing.

It did in fact make it so her hair could glow with that overdose of white-out!

Thank-you so much! I actually drew this on brownish/tannish mat-board, so that explains the already infused brown pallet! However, I have this strange subconscious though that the mat-board was actually blue...why do I keep thinking that?

It took a long time- I can do that smooth skin color because the original mat board was tan already- I believe. ...Or maybe it was blue. Now I am confused.

It is mat bard! It is always nice, textured, and smooth! people should draw on mat board more!! I suppose it works well with colored pencils...not sure about other mediums. I heard using acrylic on mat board just fades away after a while. HMMM

Anyways, OHOHOOO no, you are certainly NOT a watercolor noob! I notice from the way you color your pictures so simple without random drops and messiness everywhere that you are improving your water coloring skills (fast maybe? I will have to see more)! You should make a tutorial on how you watercolor so cleanly and what type of techniques/brushes you use!

I had to use PS to make some of those light spots pop out more, but it was mostly the whiteout that did the trick. Have you thought about using white-out on your own colored pictures (white-out pen to be exact)? It is convenient!

With the texture and color transition, probably not. The closest I have seen to that level of MSPaint detail is restless_dreamer, but even then, the pixelated texture of MSPaint can still be seen quoite well. Oh well, it is, in itself, a kind of pixel style anyways!

I graduated this semester so no more school. Now I have to figure out what to do with myself. I've been going to school for 26 years and now I have no idea what to do with my time. Life keeps kicking me and I keep getting back up. Right now I'm just a little bundle of fear and indecisiveness. The entire thing has left me quite timid. I'm trying to get some drawings done, but it is a very slow process. I can do the pencil drawings, but when it comes time to ink and color, I kind of back away. I would love to make a comic, but don't think my comic skills would do my story any justice. I have been writing, but finding proofreaders is hard, and I when I look at a piece for as long as I have, I just start missing obvious mistakes. So if you know a good proofreader who wouldn't mind reading a few yaoi fanfic/novels let me know. :P
