Description
This was my submission to Udon's Darkstalker Tribute contest. Unfortunately it was not picked to go in the book, which is due out in a couple of months. I spent about a month and a half drawing it, so hopefully that kinda shows. Of course it's Felicia and Demitry, and Demitry's living Spawn-like cape which never existed in the games, but I felt like drawing it that way anyway.

Why thank you! That's one of the major elements I was focusing on in this drawing, how to better control my toning. I came across some nice tricks that can combine hatching with stippling to break up the linework and create greater tonal range while still keeping the lines to describe the form. Pure stippling is probably best for total control of tone, but it lacks the ability to direct the eye around the form like consistent hatching has.
