Well first off, thanks a lot for the comps! What school in NC do you go to? I used to attend East Carolina University and still live pretty close to there.
But as far as developing my style, I guess a lot of it has to do with my wandering mind. I see a new style that totally blows me away, usually by some particular artist, and a part of me craves to prove to myself that I can do that too. So it might be some sort of insecurity thing, idunno. But after a while of practicing certain styles and techniques I get to where I can combine or alter them to create something new. It also has to do with the fact that I've been using Photoshop 5.5 for many years so I'm always learning something new with it, and a lot of my style is sort of custom-tailored to the strengths and limitations of that software. I'd like to learn Painter someday to expand my repetoire of techniques.
