mallaardIs that a good or a bad thing? I intentionally made him pretty intimidating because the original comic strip character actually frightened me. He's supposed to be the hero, but his god-like powers and wrath combined with his 9 foot tall super bulk made him much scarier to me than most comic book villains.

darkessenceIgnore that person. So far I've seen nothing but negative comments come out of him.

This piece is very amazing. The colors, the shading, it's just very beautiful.

mallaardThanks, I'm glad you like the piece. The basic costume colors were a lot of fun to work with, they gave me a lot of room to experiment with various hues and tones.

KiroKMan... I really like this piece of art!

I reminds me A LOT of Alan Moore's 'Miracleman'.

Bravo!

mallaardThanks! I thought so too. So I guess you heard that Marvel bought the rights to Miracleman/Marvelman? Which probably means they'll finally be able to republish those original comics of Moore's and Gaiman's. More Alan Moore material is always reason to celebrate.

StitchkingI had no idea anyone besides me and like 6 other people knew who this guy was.  Good stuff!

mallaardAll it took was to read one of the bat-shoot crazy pages from that first published book, " I Shall Destroy All the Civilized Planets!," and I was hooked for life. Or at least until the second book that just came out, which completes the entire collection of Fletcher Hanks' material. He actually looks like he could fit into DBZ given the right style treatment, doesn't he?

mallaardNo, he's not related to Marvel or DC. In fact he might actually be in the public domain, which means anyone can probably publish stuff with him. I should take some LSD and write some new comic stories for this guy, it would be fun.

mallaardThe glowing white floor is a nice staple of sci-fi movies, plus it's extremely easy to make when you don't really feel like putting together a real backdrop. Plus I really wanted a solid under-lighting scheme going on.

Takahashi2OkiVery clean. I really like the face.

mallaardThanks! I thought it would be cool to use this sort of anime-inspired cel shading but keep the face very Western-ized. Kinda reminds me of Humphrey Bogart.
