Hey everyone, as I mentioned earlier, I've been going through some personal things. I'm back, sort of, although I am still extremely busy.
Anyway, I've been working at a different job since I last posted. It's much better, less stressful. My husband and I have moved into our own house, and I am enjoying my garden, BBQing and entertaining...
I'm thinking I may once again become a little more active in the winter with submissions, or at least checking out everyone's galleries to see how they've evolved since I left!
Or you are welcome to visit and comment on my blogs:

thanx so much for your wonderful comment! I have to say I feel really honored that someone as skilled as you would comment on my humble gallery (I'm more of a writer than an artist ^ ^). Yeah, my little sister tried to teach me how to use photoshop recently but I still didn't get it, so I think I'm going to try experimenting on my own now. I don't color well. That's why most of my stuff is just line art.

Thank you for the compliments! I am blushing at being "honoured!" You don't necessarily have to colour with photoshop... I've seen some very nice pictures in folks' galleries done with shading in black and white, or with pastels, markers, pencil crayons/colouring pencils or inks or paints even... Does your art teacher at school have any of these?
Liedetector16 on January 22, 2007, 11:18:14 AM
Color in general I'm very VERY bad at. Shading i can do on occasion. Usually if I really want something colored I'll have someone do it for me. I just prefer black and white, and for better quality works I'll ink if I'm feeling brave. Me and the pencil, though - yeah, we're best friends. ^ ^ I'm kinda hesitant about asking my art teacher for extra supplies. She thinks I'm really good - at least compared to others in the class - and she's really disapointed that I don't want to be an artist. (I don't think she gets on the internet very often and sees all the other art out there, like yours for instance). Plus I'm not taking her art class next year. It's too much work for someone who isn't serious about art. If I was into it enough, I might ask, but I'd rather sit down and right a draft for a 20-page chapter of a book, if you get what I mean.

LOL I do love to write too! Well, instead of asking your art teacher, perhaps you could join either an artist guild or a writer's guild: either way, whichever supplies you start using, you would (hopefully) pay a reasonable yearly fee and get a newsletter plus some sort of membership card that would get you a percentage off on supplies. Or of course, if you are a student, there should be some areas where you live that give student discounts. That's what it's like around here anyway: 10 percent off stuff really helps!

heh, I imagine. I don't know. I don't think I'd be commited enough to anything like that. I'm trying to keep my grades up so I get get some good scholarships to college - a free ride would be nice - and I have to get a job soon. It'd be nice if I had more time set aside, but I've got other priorities: chuch, school, time with my family and friends, etc. I take it you're in some sort of guild...?

I would have ended up being a teacher if A) I wasn't ill for a few years; B) If I had moved to a smaller city or town for a couple of years to build up tenure, C) If I hadn't moved to another country for a while (but that's where I married my husband! Heh!), D) If I hadn't become so good at substitute teaching some school board might have hired me full time in a regular classroom, with kids who I would get to know and they would get to know me, and I wouldn't be some stranger coming for a visit. Most kids are good, but you get one or two once in a while who try to play you, and that's a bit stressful. I still teach, but it's training people...

LOL Sorry I gave you my life's story! Let's see: from Saskatchewan, Canada to Florida, USA... That's quite a leap, really... We went from having only 6 hours of daylight in the winter to almost 8 and no snow... That was weird during Christmas, for me... From pine trees and elms to giant firs and palm trees... From ketchup flavoured chips to... well, whatever they had down there... I missed ketchup flavoured chips! Then we moved back to Saskatchewan, Canada where we live now. Everyone kept teasing me because I said "eh" a lot! LOL I never knew how much I said it, eh, until I moved to the US, eh! LOL

Woah, that is absolutely fabulous. The blue guy (Crovax) looks fine to me, he always enjoys a good challenge! LOL
It looks terrific. My only request is perhaps something with Aria's expression: She has brown eyes slightly lighter than her dark brown hair, by the way. If you want to make her look slightly impish like winking, or slightly evil with eyebrows down but slight grin on her face or something like that while she enjoys blasting Krayt Dragons (looks like we came upon an entire nest of baby dragons! LOL)... But I would be totally fine if you left it the way you have it, too!
THANK YOU!

Here you are 7th, I sort of copied and pasted the three shots together as one, so this might make it easier for you. If you like I can erase your pic off my Blog for you, but for this to save properly you would have to copy and save it to your computer first and then download it onto your FAC gallery as Download from My Computer. Let me know if you want me to take this off. If you like you can post several pieces of this picture when you are finished colouring it in (the more the better, as this one was slightly off: if you could attempt to line up the edges with the scanner before saving, then that would help, and if you could get at least three from each side for a total of 12 shots. If you can't line up the picture very well to get a center shot, try several shots of the center so that I have something to work with. You can see where there are some lines doubling over others, here and there on this piece I pasted together, but I tried to erase them for the most part.

Why what happened there? Do you mean the critique thingee? Don't let that get you down, it's supposed to be supportive... It helps you develop a thick skin, and how to improve yourself, and possibly how to defend your art if need be in the future... At least, in my experience, they explain how to improve. I value people's constructive criticism now, but I used to be upset about it because it felt so personal to me... However, if someone just turns into a punk and cuts it to shreds for no reason, it implies that whoever made the baseless attack is thoughtless and gets off on hurting other's feelings: I'm not going to let them win. As my husband says "Opinions are like @$$holes: everyone has one and they all stink!" Pardon my language if that was offensive. LOL Hope this cheers you up!

You are welcome... Let's see... If you want to try out any of the scenes in my posters in your style that would be cool, like for instance, in the one with the blue guy punching the dragon in the eye on Tattooine(or choose a different scene from any of the pictures in my galleries and any of the characters).
I would really like to see one of my characters done in your own style... 8) My fave character, of course, is Aria, the one with the long braid...
