Sum41 aren't punk because punk is not a style, it's also a movement, one that died as soon as it was commercialized in the late 70s. Punk was a rebellion against prepackaged pop culture, and selling a million CDs with their catchy little hooks is the exact opposite of punk.They have a pop punk style but are not a punk band.
