but, I want your opinion here, is it violating copyright law to have a reference picture to draw from? do you use a reference picture?

i'm really sorry but i'm deleting my lion king fanart account, I had a fight with the site manager, he said I was violating copyright law and that i'm not allowed to copy my pictures, he said I need to expand on my creative ability, so I'm going to delete my account. its not against the law to have a reference picture to draw from!
