For one to own another there is no greater crime.
And for this the brothers fought; for this the brothers died!
For this a nation unraveld, breaking, burning, dieing..
As the mother watched with sad scornful eyes as her sons died.
O! The Union! She could only watch as her brothers left to fight to die!
O! The Confeds! How O how could they kill their brothers?!
How could they just march on with out regrets?
How could they just go from fight to fight with their brothers, their countrymen!
But their they stand, in a row guns at the ready.
Then the sound O the sound! The beat of battle! is there no sweeter music?
The rhythm of the feet! The beating of the drum! The firing of the gun!
And there they are, marching, their rhythmic beat almost like a trible beat.
To where do they march? They do not know. How do they march? In unison.
Why do they march? To save the Union! To free the slaves!
O them men in blue, watch teh metal shine! Watch the soldiers with their red badges!
Watch the regiments of blue! A they walk into the fray!
Warch them! Watch them! As they wakl into the fray that glorious day!
Watch asthey move forward into the battleground! Into the trible beat!
Listen to the battle, the power of the musket to the speed of the colt.
Watch as it unfolds! Wathc as the Congeds flee!
O the war! The horrible war has ended! Lee has lost!
Lison to the band men, brother, father! They play this merry tune for you!
You are the Heroes! The band plays for you!
The Union has been saved! The slaves freed!
For the war is only memories now, memories good and bad.
Memories of friends who fell and embraced the earth.
Memories of great battles and strategies.
And the most important, memories of the fallen ones who died for their cause.
For these brothers the band also plays.
Not the same light marry tone, but the beep, slow, beautiful music of a dirge.
For the hundreds of thousands of brothers the was was their end.
