About the shadowing too, I found a tutorial a while ago that deals with that, but never copied the link, so I'll have to track it down again. It might take me a while though...well, I hope those links come in handy for ya. The next tutorials I'll give you deal with realistic hair/fur, eyes and skin. Toodles ^_^

Hey, I'm glad those links came in handy. I'll give you some more if you like. They don't really cover backgrounds though, but when I get a moment I'll have a look on google to see if I can find any tutorials. This tutorial explains how to create a sand effect. I've used this a couple of times, and it's a good method if you bother to check it out.
