Not childish at all! I don't like complete darkness most of the time. And at night, stuff like open closets or doors just bug me. I don't know why, though. But the open doors let to a funny situation:

One night, I got up to get some water. I saw a weird light at the end of the hallway. I went into martial-arts mode and put my hands up in a guard. I investigated the light. It was coming from a dark room that doesn't have a door on it (It also has tons of pictures in it that always freaked me out- a lot of the people in the pictures are dead, and when I was younger, they gave me nightmares). So I walked out there, and I punched...my shadow. Then I saw the light.

My cat. HIs eyes are blue, but they glow red in the right light. And there he was, glaring at me.

Strange story, isn't it? Anyway, my point- I share your pain with that kind of fear. I remember when I was younger I didn't even want to have my arm over the side of my bed. I dont' know what I thought would happen.

I think you're right. Writing is my chief stress reliever, so that would make sense. lol, I just assumed I was weird^^

Definetly agree there. Plus, it kind of gives the impression that the author cares more, I guss. If you can only come up with 200 words, you prob didn't put much thought into it. (I don't mean poems and stuff, or original stories. Just stuff based off establsihed work)

It's ironic- I write happy things when I'm depressed. When I'm happy, my work is depressing. It's weird how that works, isn't it?

You make sense, really :) I have a hard time commenting on fics because they're typically shorter than mine. If there's only 1000 words, I have a difficult time commenting decently. If it's in the 2000+ range, it's easier imho.

It's weird because it's not a shonen OR shojo manga...it's kidna for everybody. I don't know, our tastes are prob different, but I'd imagine you'd enjoy it.
