I was 'sheltered' too. But college is a pretty accepting place. It's definitely easier to get in to if you work a little first. The experiences you get from work are similar to college, so it makes the 'culture shock' easier to deal with.

It'll be basically throwing crap at the wall and seeing what sticks at this point. COllege is a unique experience when it comes to finding the best way for you to learn.

Yeah, really. It's hard getting work these days. You might be good in a book store, too. Those aren't too difficult to get in to, if you're someone they know. Basically, a 'regular', even if you don't buy anything.
