I'm sure you could. It's easier when the char is like you. For a while, I liked red hair (Elise, Dr. Cameron). For a time, I was really into Sonic (Amy, Elise, Linda-Su, Rouge). Then there was Naruto, and I liked Sakura's personality, then I thought Tenten was cute, then Temari's attitude was cool. For Love Hina, that was because Motoko and Ryouko (Even sound alike!) are both sword students. The rest were on a whim, kind of. Kuriya from Happy Seven seemed to match Ryouko.

See, you possess the ability to make the couples like that come to life in drawings, not something that many can do. I can only try to do it in words, and not do it very well, lol.
