I'm such a geek! I'm reading translations of all old Jap game manuals, I can tell you stuff like Sonic's friends on South Island or how many different eye colors Sonic, Tails and Amy have had in official art XD

I fell for the games as of old days, that's my passion, but I also love SatAM - and I have to know the big picture of Archie and SonicX, plus I like some of their characters, like Julie-Su of Archie and Cosmo of X.

Sonic Underground was a rather fantasy-styled cartoon series of 40 episodes created in 1999, loosely based on other versions, with only Robotnik, Sonic, Knuckles and Uncle Chuck left of the original cast. The plot is that Sonic has a brother and a sister, and the triplets have to reunite with their royal mother to overthrow Robotnik. Until then they are the resistance band Sonic Underground, fighting with magical music instruments that have to be charged up and can shrink to pendants around their necks. Each episode has one band song, rather good ones as toon songs go. As far from all other Sonic adaptations and concepts as it strays, it's still a moving, fun show to watch and has personality. Since Sonic and his two siblings grow up in very different environments (Manic is a street punk and a pickpocket while Sonia was raised by a duchess) they have to adjust to each other's views of the world a bit.
Geekiness 101 on SU: Knuckles's forefather Athair is voiced by Sean Connery and Jaleel White voices all three hedgehogs.

Another thing that SU made me realize is this: In SU, Sonic's weapon is an electric guitar, and in fact he's been seen playing that in official art all since his first games. The only show where he doesn't do anything musical is SonicX, in Archie he even plays (acoustic) guitar quite often.
