You're lucky to have a steady hand lol. I'd kill to have one...I guess I find it hard coz I'm a lefty. Like, it's steady enough, but just hair and folds in clothing etc. And cell shading is hard too. I use a trick though. If you want straight lines in photoshop, if you hold down the "shift" key and just click the mouse in one spot and then another, it creates a straight line!! It's very useful lol. I heard someone say that once...heh, the layers too...they confused me endlessly for a while. Basically layers are there to seperate your work. Let's say you colored something in a base color, then made a new layer on top for shading. If you stuffed up the shading, you could erase or delete that layer without harming the base colors. Just takes a bit of practice to get the hang of 'em ^-^ I hope my quick hair explanation was ok too...I ain't that good at explaining stuff. Can probably tell by now lol. Well, see yas!! I'm off to bed ~_~

Lol, Phoenixh20 and Verzias are having problems too? It's driving me nuts...and like, with having broadband down here too, the popups appear even though you're not using the internet...it's just frustrating the hell outta me lol. Don't worry about photoshop ok!! You're improving for sure. It just takes a while to build up skills. I've had it for about a year, and I still need improvement...I need a tablet lol. My biggest problem is using the mouse, particularly for the hair coz it's so fine and stuff. Speaking of hair, I don't mind explaining how to do it.
I left a link on your page a while back for the tutorial...but basically you put down a base color on a seperate blank layer (messily, so you go outside the lines for now. Once you've finished giving the hair it's strands and shades, you erase any color outside the lines ok) then add a few darker shades to areas of the hair for shadowing, and then some lighter shades for the highlights. Make sure the base, shadows and highlights are all on the same layer though. After that, get your smudge tool and set the strength to around 70 and the size of it around 3-5 pixels. Begin to smudge the colors in the general direction of the strands, but don't smudge too much that you can't distinguish the different colors ok. Once that's done, get your dodge tool, and set the range to midtones and size to around 3. Set the exposure to 12 percent. Start going over your highlights in the same strand direction, building up the lighter areas more. Once that's done, get your burn tool, set to midtones on 48 percent exposure, and the size around 3 again. Start adding in darker colors to the shadowed areas, creating strands whilst doing so. Finally select your smudge tool again, and just smudge the burn and dodge areas a bit. That's basically it. There's another step which you can do, but you should probably refer to the link I gave ya...it might be a tad confusing trying to explain it. If you need the link again, just ask me. I'll try and find it again ok!! I hope it's somehow helped!! See ya later ok ^.O

Hey ya, I've been having multiple fits of rage at my comp recently lol. Pop-ups won't leave me alone, even though the blocker is enabled...and it restarted for no apparent reason before...hehehe...*eye twitches* So, how have ya been? I'll check out your new pic after this...that is, if the comp doesn't shut down again *eye twitches again* Yeah, I can keep secrets ^-^ I'd love to hear it...if you still wanna tell me, my email's svalentine@optusnet.com.au
Anyhow, I'll go look at your new work now!! See ya ^.O
