It takes a while for them to get through the approval panel. I once had to wait 2 1/2 days.Once you have a lot of submissions, you can get put on auto-approve, with no waiting.
If they still aren't there after, say, 3 or 4 days, and they don't show up in the 'pending' tab of your gallery, then try resubmitting. The worst that can happen is that you'll have two copies of it in your gallery when the system catches up and have to delete one.
